I love your videos. You helped my mom. She said: "2x zoom is enough, no reason for more zoom". Two important questions: HEIF give us 48Mpx but what about if I want to shoot JPG? (HEIF is not supported natively on windows laptop). JPG main camera will be 24 mpx and 2x zoom 12Mpx?
I know iPhone 15 has 2x zoom in crop but why there is an info "telephoto lens" on Apple sites for pro models? It's also crop I guess.
2x portrait in Pro models is a crop from main lens. Pro models have also 3x or 5x portrait depending on which one we’re talking about -Pro or Pro max with 5x lens

This may not help you now since it’s 2 months after your comment, but if you shoot JPG, you can also shoot at maximum 48MP (only with the main lens at 1X). As soon as you switch to 2X optical zoom, for both JPG and HEIF, you’re getting a sensor cropped image, so the maximum resolution will be 12 MP.
there really isn't a big difference, the only Apple could work on is sometimes the sky is blown-out photo and video, and the lens flares. other than that it's not so different from older gen iPhones
I think the only big upgrade from 14 to 15 is the 240hz for the screen lol the rest is the same.

In india , the price difference matters currently in sale 14 is around $600 where 15 is around $900. so I've gone with 14 and will upgrade next year

The better dark night photo on the 14 really surprised me. The overall improvement isn't that high. I searched for the video because I went from 14 to 15 and I seem to get better shots of my kids running around on the 14. it feels like they changed shutterspeed on the 15. Thank for the comparison video.
The explanation is with 1.9µm, more light gets in iPhone 14's pixel than 1.0µm in Iphone 15. "More light per pixel means less statistical noise in the number of electrons per pixel. In theory you could achieve the same result by binning the smaller pixels together , sacrificing resolution to get lower noise." (Millikan)
@@shortakes4k That's partially correct. In full 12MP, 15 has bigger sensor in binned mode (2µm/2 vs 1.9µm, amounts to 11% larger sensor on 15). Better low-light can be achieved by pixel-binning. However it seems like Apple's pixel binning algorithm is still long way to maturity especially for videos, as last year's 14 Pro vs 13 Pro shows (2.44µm/2 vs 1.9µm).

been using Iphne 11pro to shoot art vids (lots of zoom in) top down at 4k60fps and its been great! lower file size and great quality

I have iPhone12 and I was about to buy iPhone15. But after many comparisons of the camera tests I can say there is no difference between those two iPhones. Only reason why to buy a new iPhone it will be new battery, because my is on 85%.
Haha I compared my iphone 15 to my gf iphone 12 I noticed some of improvement regarding to camera department, the selfie camera of the iphone 15 is more detailed and the main camera looks cleaner and detailed because of 24 mp default photo if dont zoom in you cant see the difference, screen is more brighter and i love the dynamic island and type c
Exactly the reason I upgraded from XR to 15 for battery. I used to get new phone every year for new things they did but since getting my first iPhone in 2015 I’ve only had new phone twice and that was cos of battery.

Both are very similar but I would always recommend the newest version of possible. USBC would be nice for the charging
Why does no reviews actaully let us know which is more true to life with skintones? Like just do the test in front of a mirror please and check with your own 2 eyes then look to the phones to tell us which is closest. Same with the over detail look some phone cameras add...i want natural.
