He came to Osaka once and I asked him to practice after a demonstration. He smirked and snickered as if he was to good to practice a mere peasant foreigner. I remember practicing great teachers like Ueshiba Moriteru, Kisshomaru, Nishio, Yamaguchi, Endo, Ishii Akira and many others. They looked at me with a certain level of both confident and humility, something they have learned from O'sensei, but unfortunately this trait could not be passed down to the future Doshu. The future of Aikido as a path to enlightenment looks grim and is starting to look like the future Doshu has his eyes on a quick fix to to get godlike respect from devoted practitioners. Ueshiba Mitsuteru...can he live up to the spiritual level of what his ancestors originally embarked upon? Or, is he just another entitled bloke in it for the money.
Ya llegó el que ve al futuro director mundial del aikido y ve todos los videos de cualquier aikidoka, pero aún así, se no cree que el aikido funcione. A veces para cambiar la forma de ver la manera de pensar, sólo se necesita un golpe en la nariz. 👍

Japan is a very expensive country. You need to rake in the money any way you can. Poverty may be the noble path to enlightenment, but it sucks.
