I attended Lds from 2007-12 took bin bags with me and cleared area near my tent, last morning checked empty tents & packed as many as possible up & took them to collection point. Don’t leave behind anything but footprints.

Anyone entering with a tent should be put on a list with their name, picture and pitch location. Anyone who leaves their tent after the festival should be heavily fined.

I’ve been going to leeds fest for decades, always the same. As is reading, as is Glastonbury, etc. organisers know this will happen and it’s their responsibility to get proper cleanup crews.

i went to the Blazing Swan festival in Kulin, West Australia in 2017. They had a group of people called The Moop Troop (MOOP = Matter Out Of Place), anything that didnt belong on the ground was picked up bagged and binned.. When the festival was over the grounds were cleaner than when it started... You need to employ your own Moop Troop..

Its the event organisers who are to blame, it a festival. There's going to be a mess, it's the event organisers' responsibility to have a clean up crew sorted. I manage a large pub in Leeds and we host events on site. Never once have I expected the customers to be responsible for cleaning up afterwards, let alone if I was charging extortionate ticket prices! This is a ridiculous none story. I'd happily sympathise if it was over noise pollution for local residents or the fact so many people decend on the local area.

Festival goers the past at least used to take their tents away with them. The clean up costs money. Next year when, after considering banning the Festival, the local authorities charged £50 per head extra. This will be added to the ticket cost.
