Hiking Camelback Mountain - Cholla Trail

  • Pliny and Angela flew out to Arizona to enjoy some great hiking and desert views. Today, the adventure was Camelback Mountain, taking the Cholla trail that meaders up the east side of the mountain. This trail is short (under two miles) but rated double black diamond (extremely difficult), making it a fun challenge with great views. Fortunately, this hike took place in December which was the ideal temperature.

    Absolutely beautiful place and so lovely walking tour, simply enjoyable content.

    I did that hike when I was a teenager back in the 80's. We stayed a little too long after sunset and it got super dark. Getting down was very challenging with no lamps of any kind. Just starlight. 😮

    Thanks for sharing your adventure. When I said I climbed Camelback I didn't clarify, I was about 5 or 6, so it was more like scrambling around on all the boulders at the base 😂. I really appreciate you taking me to the top to see the view. I believe it was in the middle of the desert when we lived there. I totally expected you to see rattle snakes and tarantulas 😊
