[Story 122] Cooking what nature gives me!Foraging edible fern(pako) beside the river!

I gathered some wild vegetables beside the river. I got some edible ferns and gunut core. Gunut is a plant that looks like coconut but it’s not. The core of it’s trunk tastes better than bamboo shoots. It has this slightly sweet taste. I made delicious food using what I foraged. Yum yum!

Your province Nueva Vizcaya is clueless how you showcase its beauty. The amazing wonders of nature, really picturesque, pleasing to the eyes.
Not to mention the edible fern(pako) i haven't got a clue that it is eatable.To me it looks appetizing.
I love your videos(all of them) soothes the nerve & soul. So many things to entertain the senses. The sound of nature, amazing views, beautiful scenery etc. Aside from that, I love the way u meticulously put the subtitles in your vids. Fiddlehead Fern or Pako grows wold specially during rainy season. Good for calcium and identifying them is important cause some fern are poisonous

Hi Ben! New subscriber here! I'm from Iloilo City currently working in Manila and thank you for giving me comfort through your videos everytime I come home from work. Your videos reminded me when we used to spend the weekend at my late lola and lolo's ancestral home in Antique when we were kids, we used to gather eggs, pick calamansi from my lola's tree, take a bath and playing with water from the bomba at the back, spending time at the beach, feeding the pigs and enjoying their munching sounds...😂 thank you for taking me back to me childhood. When I was growing up in the Philippines my family eats the paco the way you prepared it. There are lots of paco near the brook in our mountain. I have not eaten that since I came to America, which is half a century ago.. Probably if I can go for vacation I will try to eat paco again.
