You can tell Costco Matt was getting annoyed towards the end & starting to lose his patience. but he held it together and I thank him for it. God bless.
Yeah I know, this is very unusual as Costco has people giving out free samples, but usually nothing like this where you can get help making a purchase decision.
Yes, Costco expert help me choose my TV after I made a mistake of buying 77" a80j not knowing it will be hard to see the image with my bright living room full of windows, glass door. Costco told me to return and replace with 85" qn85a, 400 bucks cheaper that time than oled. Big difference, now I can see the image, during day and night TV watching. Side by side comparison for 1 week clearly shows Mini LED win big time during daytime, at night with all lights out Oled is slightly better, slight blooming on mini led. My only gripe with 85a is that rainbow effect at night when lights are on, so I turn off the light, angled it to avoid reflection.
Because pay is a factor. Who wants to be the best low-wage salesman...? There's no margin in this stuff anymore and people don't want to buy good stuff so here's your cheap Chinese crap sold by someone who reads the box with you. Besides how much do you REALLY need to know about a tv? Does it look good? Is it a name brand or not? Does it cost what you want to spend? Ok... There ya go
Be careful with television refresh rates. It is very common for the manufacturer to list the refresh rate at double what the actual refresh rate is. If your tv says a 240 refresh rate, the actual rate is almost guaranteed to be 120 FPS. The rate will usually be listed as "240 TruMotion" or "240 CMR" (Clear Motion Rate) but these values are not true refresh rates. They are normally listed at twice the actual refresh rate of the panel.
They used to make 240 hz TVs I have an old led vizio that is true 240 hz. Its amazing and has very low input lag. Nowadays most TVs are 60hz. With 120hz trumotion technology.
Yes and no. Not all 120 Hz TVs perform the same with regards to the motion performance. For example Samsung has in the past given it's sets a rating between 120 and 480 even though these were all 120Hz panels with the higher rating reflecting better motion performance.
@@DJSteezy TCL used to make crt's, they are one of the biggest tv makers in the world. They have made tv's for other brands so there would be plenty of old ones around.

My little brother bought a 43 inch Toshiba TV few months ago. It works well. This summer we were staying with my mom and sister in a bungalow. The TV was an LG. My brother and I watched "Adams Family Values" on it, I was impressed with the darkness. We laughed throughout the movie
I remember when buying a television was akin to buying a vehicle at a car lot. There was bargaining and deals and seasonal rebates/etc. The salesperson really had to do sales and establish customer relationships. Now, it's all straight up and determined.
What Matt failed to mention is that if you use the Costco credit card, you get an additinal 2yrs of coverage for a total of 4yrs! Quadruple coverage! Go find out how much a 4yr extended warranty on your new TV costs from Best Buy or PCRichards, at least $250 extra for most 70"+ TV's.
What Matt also failed to mention is that manufacturer's warranty only covers a very narrow range of things that can possibly go wrong with a TV. Usually this coverage only pertains to "manufacturer's defects" which are things that were done wrong in the physical assembly and construction of the device at the factory. Well, that's a VERY narrow scope and only covers a small range of all the things that can go wrong with a TV. In reality, most things that will commonly fail on a TV do not actually fall within the scope of that coverage. This is part of the reason why Costco is so quick to double or quadruple the manufacturer's warranty with their programs and promotions - the know that the majority of things that typically fail, break or go wrong won't be covered. So, many of the customers that buy from Costco (and never bother to read any of the actual fine print) aren't really getting anywhere NEAR the coverage that they think they are on those extended warranties. Also, keep in mind that NONE of that coverage is actually provided by Costco itself. ALL of that is handled through third-party fulfilment companies that have nothing at all to do with Costco themselves. As with so many other things in this world, it pays to slow down, take your time, do your own homework and read the fine print. As is all too often the case, things aren't always what they are cracked up to be when you take the time to look just below the surface.
Didn’t know that if you buy in store, they don’t deliver to your house and you have to pay extra for home delivery. Looks like I will try to buy online when time comes to buy one since the 82” won’t fit into my car.

My local costco had a rep who was very passionate about the panels they carried. He pointed me to the a80j over the C1 unless I have to have the 83 inch OLED. It was love from the first word. :D
If you notice today they're not even broadcast in 1080 fully cuz if you notice when you're watching TV certain programs especially the major networks when they have a show on it's not totally 1080 and people buying a 4K they're never going to come out with 4K
TCL is one of the largest manufacturer of TV’s today. My understanding they make a lot of TV for other brands nand label for them. They are new to US but not for other countries…
Great interview. I learned a lot. I bought a 65" TCL 6-Series last year at Best Buy for $950.00. When moving into a new home I pressed my shoulder against the screen and it cracked. :( Rule of Thumb: Always use two people when handling TV's larger than 55". I think it's a great advantage that OLED's are less prone to breakage. I'm still wondering about OLED burn-in and lifespan. It looks like OLED prices are starting to fall. I recently purchased the same TCL again from Best Buy for $785.00. I see Costco still has that TCL model on sale for $700.00. It's last years model and TCL has a 2019 version.
People have been chirping about panel life since the dawn of projector TV's then the talk moved to Plasmas then to LCD then LED etc, etc. I have a 10yr old 50" Panasonic 1080P panel in my garage that still looks incredible. Many hours on it, at times being left on for extended hours. Same thing with projector technology. My current 86" 4K TV is run at high brightness and I could care less. Bottom line is, buy the biggest TV you can fit in your space and enjoy it. Don't worry too much about meaningless things like projected panel life. If your panel dims out in 4yrs, buy a new TV. Problem solved.

Let me explain to you how extended warranty works. This is a real review for those who are on the fence. I purchase a 55 inch Sony TV Model XBR-55A8H on November 2020 from Brandsmart USA. Amazing TV but I got a lemon. I purchased the extended warranty for an extra $150 dollars for 3 years. But let me explain something to you guys. Is not really 3 years. Is only 2 years! Why? Well the first year is the warranty that comes from the manufacturer. They include the first year with your purchase of the 3 years extended warranty. So in reality you're not getting 3 years after the 1 year manufacturer warranty. You're only getting 2 years in total from the 3 years you purchased. Let say you didn't buy the extended warranty, you are still cover 100% for the first year from the manufacturer. I always thought that when I purchased the extended warranty that the warranty would start after the 1 year from the manufacturer but it doesn't work like that. So now you know!. Also my new TV has been repair twice already. First time the power circuit board and the main board got replaced. 6 months later the power cord and power circuit board got replaced. Now today 02/28/2022 there is no power at all to the TV. I have already tried all of the power on and off methods and holding the power off for 15 seconds on the remote without batteries and then try turning on tv from the TV power button on the back and nothing. Brandsmart USA is coming for the 3rd time this thursday to fix. For those who think that the store is just going to give you a brand new tv just because you purchased the extended warranty thing again!! They will keep fixing it over and over but it will be extremely difficult for the TV technician to declare the TV as a lemon and they will gladly just keep coming to your house to keep repairing your tv again. My advice to anyone is to avoid buying any extended warranty. Is not worth it. The sales person will lie to you all of the time and always try to sell you the extended warranty and tell you they will repair the tv and if they can not fix it they will give you a new one. But the truth is that all of the TV's are repairable. So you will never get a new replacement. Remember that! I am going through this nightmare as we speak and I am trying to help everyone here watching all of this videos deciding if they should purchased the extended warranty or not. Oh yes the worst part is that when you schedule a repair service you have to wait 3 to 5 days for the technician to come to your house, he will take the tv apart, leave wide open with the cover off, and then he will tell you that he has to order the parts and that usually take 7 to 10 business day. You are stuck for 2 weeks without any TV. I know because i've been through this twice already and now i'm going through a 3rd time. Do not freaking waste your money on this stupid warranty. But the parts cheap;y on Ebay and replace the boards yourself. Is not difficult. I would do it but I can't since I purchased the warranty and i'm letting them do it even if it takes a long time. But the next time I am not going to buy any warranty. Ok I'm out and i hope i was able to help anyone out.
This works! I hate ugly talking head videos but because you did it in an interview style this works. Good job I like the humor and you provide good info.
I bought a 65" Samsung tv from Costco 5 years ago for about $800.00. at the 13-month mark, the tv started showing some blurry lines in the middle. reached out to Costco, they told me it was after the 12-month mark, and they couldn't do anything. aside from contacting Samsung directly. So i called them. they kept me on the phone for 2 hours. asking me to change the settings, do this, do that etc. at the end of the call, the Samsung rep. tells me "well, the tv is out of warranty so we can't do anything about it" I was like: B-yotch, you kept me on the phone for 2 hours to tell me this?" fast forward to today end of July 2023. the tv took a dump. it now has a black cloud covering 1/4 of the tv. that's some bull crap, I spent $800.00 on a tv that lasted me 4 years and 4 months. SUPER DISAPOINTED AT SAMSUNG!!!!!
@Kid Friday Podcast - Samsung and other manufacturers have been putting OLED screens in phones for literally over a decade. Apple has been doing it since the iPhone X, using Samsung panels. If you're talking OLED panels with refresh rate more than 60hz, yes Samsung has not done that yet. However some other manufacturers have 90 and 120 hz OLED phones, even some made by samsung(pixel 4xl, Oneplus, ASUS), and some made by LG.(pixrl 4)

Just drinking and TV shopping...🍺

This works! I hate ugly talking head videos but because you did it in an interview style this works. Good job I like the humor and you provide good info.

I have owned lots of large screen TV's Nothing better about Samsung vs Sony LG etc
You noticed he asked about the return policy, especially around Superbowl, I know what he's doing
First..Vizio is junk. TCL has received some decent reviews. I would recommend LG OLED. More expensive, but worth it.
I got the Samsung 65 inch crystal uhd 7 series. $528 at Walmart
I have 2 TLC they are awesome
Hey was this a michael scott production
@Kid Friday Podcast - Samsung and other manufacturers have been putting OLED screens in phones for literally over a decade. Apple has been doing it since the iPhone X, using Samsung panels.
If you're talking OLED panels with refresh rate more than 60hz, yes Samsung has not done that yet. However some other manufacturers have 90 and 120 hz OLED phones, even some made by samsung(pixel 4xl, Oneplus, ASUS), and some made by LG.(pixrl 4)
OVER A DECADE??? YOU'RE DUMB!!!!
They do remove features for blackfriday but mostly things you don't use, like bluetooth, less hdmi ports or a cheaper remote
No they dont.
