  • In this episode I will walk you through my process of how I screen print Gradient using a technic called Split fountain , When Creating a split fountain print, multiple ink colors are placed within one screen and pulled over the graphic. As more prints are made, the inks become more blended, resulting in a natural gradient of color. Hope you enjoy!!

    Hi Brema, want to start off by saying thank you! your videos have motivated me to start my own clothing brand. However, I can't seem to find any videos of people explaining how to separate colours for a realistic 2+ image for a pre burned screen (like your 2 step colour butterfly). maybe you could help some of us or a next video recommendation. I would gladly appreciate it!

      If you use illustrator, create the design, expand it, then use the wand tool and when you select a color it’ll grab all similar colors, copy the selection and paste in place on a new layer.

    Hey brem really love your stuff, im from the Philippines and got into screen printing...i first started with paper cutout as stencils but wanted to move to emulsion.. it doesnt seem to work out with all my experiment... I use an aquasol emulsion which doesnt need a sentisizer but every time i burn the screen it alwys has this wet part... I dont know how thick the emulsion is supposed to be, your repsonse would be lovely thanks!!

    • @5150LA
      @5150LA 2 роки тому

      Emulsion should be kinda thick. Let the screens dry for a longer amount of time in a dark room before you burn the image.

    • @ausgezogenfeminin9862
      @ausgezogenfeminin9862 2 роки тому +1

      Begginers usually tend to put on too much elmusion. Try to keep it as a thin layer and see if it works. You can use a blow drying device, but keep in mind that it shouldn’t get too hot, because the emulsion also reacts to heat. Hope this helps!

    This is sooo dope 🔥🔥🔥I recently just started screenprinting for my brand. Quick question were you using plastisol or water based screen printing ink?

  • @f00mp
    @f00mp 2 роки тому

    Yooo Brema, the Color keeps blending when using side by side, is there a reason why the colors are combining into one color opposed to separate ?

  • @killamilla6
    @killamilla6 2 роки тому +1

    Thank you very much for sharing. Question tho, how long can the inks be on the screen for before it is no good ?

    • @5150LA
      @5150LA 2 роки тому

      Depends on the ink if plastisol ink you can leave for a while (a week or two) because it won’t harden up without being cured with heat

    Yeah this is the second time I see this technique on a gradient. I think it's bad to get different results every time and not to be able to control the colors. I know it is very difficult but wouldn't a halftone work even better???
