I feel like saying beach ball is +43 is extremely misleading. That's like saying Bridget delay yoyo is +120 or whatever, but in reality it only has a regular projectile worth of block stun (I think it's 10 or 11 frames?), which is unreactable, meaning you are very hard pressed to run safe oki with beach ball against reversals since they can do it before or after the beach ball and it's just a guess on your part. I'm sure there is like a frame or 2 where you can do cS and OS block the reversal but it's manually timed and in general just doesn't really seem safe if you can just mess it up (the lack of feedback is my issue with it, no way to know if it was safe until they try to reversal and you block it). Fact of the matter is they can interrupt you while the beach ball is coming out, or just hit the ball itself and in both situations you are hardly plus, if at all. If you block their attack and they get hit by the beach ball, you might be slightly plus, but likely only able to threaten with like a counter hit 5K if they are still trying to press buttons, otherwise the situation is pretty neutral IMO (I feel like most of the time they just block 5K and walk out of 6H range). It effectively acts like beach ball from Xrd, just you have way less time to do anything in between. That's why I compare it to Bridget's delay yoyo. The only difference is you have like 10f or something to act instead of Bridget's 2 whole seconds.
Hey Griffon, I may be misreading this comment but I'm pretty sure a lot of this is incorrect. I discussed it with Yomicord just to be sure but: - A lot of the setups in this vid are genuinely +43 it's not a hypothetical. Any time you see Ball>Charged 6H>HS Dolphin in this video it's because the ball was +43 so they're forced to hold that. Keep in mind that charged 6H is 40 frames. - All of the meterless setups here give a GUARANTEED strike vs. throw mix-up. There's no question to that, I suggest trying it in training mode. Try to get the CPU to DP/Super before/after the ball connects from either 2D>Delay Ball>Dash cS, Throw>K Ball>Dash 2k, or HS Up Dolphin>Dolphin whiff>P Ball>dash cS you won't be able to if you're using the block OS correctly (which you probably are if you are charging efficiently). - Comparing Xrd ball and Strive ball isn't worthwhile they're entirely different functions. Strive ball is for enforcing guaranteed strike vs. throw on the opponent, XRD ball gave genuine setplay. - Off of practically every ball situation and reversal used you will be able to get a combo off of the ball, usually it's a cS starter too which is what you'd do for pressure so it's not like it'll be that hard to confirm at least IMO.
