“I’ve been social distancing since I was born. I’ve learned to try and embrace my Agoraphobia all my life. This is what the lyrics are about as we are all sheltered in place. They seem very clear. Now is not the time bands should shy away from the obvious by trying to push the narrative through their art as if everything is alright with the world and ‘it’s metal video visual as usual time’, as it is clearly NOT that time.
We as artists should speak up, inspire and change lives, or paint a picture - a time capsule if you will - by the narrative we push in uncertain times. This video is one such art piece as my band and thousands of others are forced into quarantine - cannot rehearse, take photos, or perform - to make a music video for the very people that have supported us for years. It’s trying times for the world and my outlook through this video is simply this: ‘here’s what we are going through as a family on this planet and as we embrace what is yet to come... please Stand Together’.”

I've been a fan of DD since their first album but I can't say their most recent stuff has thrilled me. This on the other hand is the band I remember discovering around 02 or 03.
I've heard a lot of people saying the same thing . I somewhat agree with you on it (didn't really care for "Trust no one") but Winter Kills is a beast of an album imo
Right? Been there since the self titled album, and it takes a little while to warm up to each new album, they never sound the same, but god damn it's beautiful, brutal, melodic, sick rhythms, and the voice that monsters run away from, fuckin DEZ. It's been amazing.

Actually, metal is already buried. 10 years from now. I'm not saying that we don't have good metal material anymore, there is no feeling, brotherhood or grasp in the metal community. It's over a looong time ago
I really think metal will make a come back. It may have been on a decline, but with everyone getting deep into occultic stuff and researching the pedo shit, and everyone is becoming increasingly more hostile and pissed off and corruption becomes more obvious, people will be looking for an outlet and a way to get people's attention to point out the bullshit going on. Metal will make a come back for sure, at least that's my prediction. Devildriver putting out slammers like this will excel it, I think.

This is the Devildriver I used to love and worship! I haven't enjoyed a release from them this much since The Fury Of Our Makers Hand. Please let this be how good every song on the new album is.
I think Pray For Villain is a great album. It went a little downhill for me too after that tho.
Alexandre Scher I concur. Winter Kills grew a lot on me over time. Trust No One was pretty solid but it felt too "safe" considering a new line-up and all.
All the albums after Fury were good musicianship wise I guess but they didn't utilize Dez as well. To me they stopped being the awesome metal band that had Dez for a vocalist after Fury and began to focus more on the guitarists. I love Dez for his catchy vocal riffs and awesome choruses. I need the band to back up Dez not try to overshadow him.

Yes sure it's great but the album is under 40 minutes. the shortest devildriver album. yes i know it will be a double album. and I think the other one will be under 40 too. so you can count on a total time of 80 min
.that is not much for an double album. for example slipknot, gojira released albums with12-13 songs, and the albums are over an hour long.
of course short albums can be good, but that's really quite short
would have expected almost 50 minutes

Really digging this sound! It's a bit different from what they did earlier in their career, but it's still great. My favorite album from these guys is still "The Fury of Our Maker's Hand", but if they continue in this vein, the best is yet to come.

What is healing my heart for one is just another ehhh method type for another but I just have had some shit happen and finally getting memories back I just as this definitely illustrates so much! I had to space out at beginning as my brain got deep fried vomitose style and forgot the spark of the Covid and us just this really did a lot! But the best is the time I have had with Dez going back to Sounds of The Underground where he let me stand to the side of the autograph area just so I could hang out with! But that's just the beginning of so many great times with DevilDriver! I got the Cross on my ribs done unprofessional of course as this Avenue of Kick fuckin' Ass Metal has been is going and will always give me everything I need as I get determination, Strength, Value, Community, Acceptance, and now that I'm finally getting back into my existence it has just made me so so thankful for every well no is been metal always to the point bleeds mercury but Thank you involved as well as cheers to the other fans as This is Metal!
