Driving on a mountain highway while giving a good car review? You are one of the most fearless men I've ever seen. And your car reviews are spot on too 👌 👍 👏.
I love my 2020 SQ5! It does everything well… I changed the tires to all weather tires and this car handles like a champ in a snow storm on icy roads. I was passing wranglers with chains on them and I had no chains and no worries all the way up the mountain.
George- totally agree, good looking, good driving, interior is a let down with the navigation screen. At $73k you should get full leather interior. Great review!!
Loads of people always complain about the reduced luggage capability of these _coupé_ styled SUV's. But in all honesty, up to the window line, the capacity is exactly the same. It's only when the parcel shelf is removed that it opens up that area above the window. But how many people load up SUV's to the roof? Even when I used to go fishing, many years ago, with heaps of gear for a 48 hour trip, I still never went above the window line of any car I had. This *_SQ5 Sportsback_* is a lovely looking car and in it's top spec model (Vorsprung for the UK.), it's loaded with all the tech you'd ever need. Bar for cooled front seats. You'd need the SQ8 for those goodies. Good video though. Thank you 8-))... PS On a personal note, I do hate green cars 8-((... This SQ5 looks great in White 8-))... PPS As for the stuck on iPad on the dash. Why didn't Audi follow the same design as for the Q3, RSQ3 models with the central screen below the air vents. Looks so, so much better 8-\\...
Porsche Macan is MUCH sharper even though they are built from the same bones. Covered that question more in this episode: ua-cam.com/video/kF39GXfFihY/v-deo.html
One of the led license plate lights is out! 0:50 & 5:29. Regular SQ5 looks good enough tbh! Sportback getting thrown a lot in the lineup now, like BMW with grand coupe lol. It looks well on certain models but not everything.
Audi is running on all cylinders nowadays. Their products are vastly underrated IMO. Huge fan of their stuff. That said, by far the biggest 'problem' to me with the Q / SQ5 is the 'made in Mexico' part. I dislike that so much we went the Q3 route, twice now.
I would not at all agree that Audis are underrated. Folks like myself as well as buyers alike all respect Audi. Examples of underrated: Genesis. The Cadillac CT5.
@@MotoManTV Yes agree that folks like you don't generally underrate Audi stuff, but rather my .02 was/is that the general car buying public really doesn't grasp how good a lot of their stuff is. BTW, absolutely love your channel. Keep up the killer work!
@@krane15 Lots of people have that opinion. For me, I prefer to have a German car that's made in Germany. Just I like preferred to have a Camry made in Japan vs one that was made in the U.S. If you watch the video with the lady that's the U.S. product manager for VW of North America, while referring to the new to N America VW MK8 Golf, she openly states one of the coolest things about the upcoming MK8 is all of them are now being made in Wolfsburg. The materials supplied on these cars are not all the same between otherwise identical models depending on where they're made. There is little debate with the Euro stuff that's supplied to & put together in Germany is, in round #s, better than what often gets sourced/supplied to North American car manufacturing plants & for these reasons I vastly prefer to have a Germany (or at least European made) auto vs one built somewhere else (like Mexico, the U.S., or Canada).
I can't get along with that weird looking rear end. It looks too much like Mercedes SUV coupe and I already don't like that. Great review and tech analysis as always motoman 👍
It is a bit biased to judge a transmission only based on its behavior on a curvy road; I have the magnificent DSG on my Audi but it can be annoying in city driving which represents 80% of most driving the vast majority do. I would rather have a S4/S5/SQ5 with its 8-speed than a non S with the DSG.
@@MotoManTV thx for the info. I guess Audi does their market research and most buyers probably don’t care. They really should omit the fake tailpipes and have a blank bumper. People that don’t care won’t notice the difference, and people like me who do care wouldn’t be so put off by it. Fake vents and fake exhaust tips drive me crazy and Audi is one of the worst offenders.
Hideous. Honda wisely gave up on these neither fish nor fowl CUV things that defy categorization and common sense at the same time. Inexplicably, Benz and BMW versions, though exceedingly rare to be spotted in the wild, continue to be manufactured.
Great review like always!
Audi needs to bring the RSQ3/RSQ5 Sportback to the U.S
the best tech analysis in the business. Great review.
Thank you, Jeff!
I like reviewing high performance cars on canyon and mountain roads that makes so satisfying to watch. Thank you

Best analysis of that vehicle I’ve ever seen‼️💯🎯
Thank you, Gary!
How would you compare the drive on this vehicle to that of a Porsche Macan?

The only "utility" Audi to own is the RS6 Avant.
I don’t love the Mash green And a new S6 interior would update this nicely but it does look fun. Nice video.
That "just because I'm Greek" line killed me.
Reviews for the THINKING MAN 👍
I think I remember hearing on one of your appearances on The Smoking Tire you're from Long Island originally?
Born on Long Island . . . most of my life in NYC.
74k puts the SQ5 in the Macan GTS & Velar territory though. Very tough crowd.
Agreed.
BMW X3 M40 may be a better alternative with handling the performance to boot…with a slightly lower price.
SomIngot lost on the long front end ? And this being a short front end ? Respectfully

Is that implying Mexicans don't know how to build cars?

Спасибо, Сергей!
Those birds are totally going at it in the background.
I believe you said you would go macan s over the sq5….still the case?
Yes.

I hate all the SUV's that try to make the back end look more sporty.
Not to mention, it defeats the purpose.

Fair point, but keep in mind I make my judgements on my overall time with the car, not just on that one road.
@@MotoManTV Ok tks :)
Do the x3 m40
When we get a crack at the new one.
It’s a car. Not suv or crossover, it’s just a car
there are no reasonable economics to buy this car...4500 premium over the regular SQ5 and less cargo space
But it looks cooler...doesn't it?
Homauge to Ricardo Montalbán.
The first one is still the best imo
are those fake exhaust tips? If so, I really wish Audi would stop doing that.
Yep.
That always scrams to me "fake car." I just move on to the next one.

Should a suv be a wagon.
I know the answer to that one:)
It is.

Definition of an Oxymoron: “a fun to drive SUV….”
Stelvio QV and Cayenne Turbo have entered the chat
And yet the Giulia and Panamera are much better to drive…
But what of Lamborghini Urus?
