Arion is a 1986 anime feature which was directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, with the film's score and its Image Album being provided by Joe Hisaishi. Hishaishi also created a Symphonic Suite for Arion, released the same year as the soundtrack, 1986.
Joe Hisaishi's Arion Image Album, like most of his works during the early and mid '80s, puts a strong focus on synthesizers and drum machines, but also has its fair share of orchestral elements, especially coming through in the two variations of the main theme, Wind & Wilderness. While less approachable to those who prefer Hisaishi's contemporary symphonic scores, the Arion Image Album is a great place to look for those who are fans of Hisaishi's work on the Nausicaa Image Album and OST.
