MacKinnon will turn 29 years old on September 1. He'll be 34 years old in 5 years, so it's entirely possible that he won't be in the top 10 scorers in the league
If they have a good year...they aren't staying in Denver. They can't afford it. Gonna have to rent a bottom 6 every damn year, just wait until Makar gets his new deal
A good year for these type of players doesn't necessarily catapult them into a massive contract (outside of Drouin). So they very well could hang around a few more years if they like the system and the team. And while Makar's next deal will be massive, they have Mikko's to deal with first.
@@LockedOnAvalanche The guys they picked up at the deadline last year aren't here...they didn't exactly set the NHL on fire and I think the Avs would have kept if they could have afforded it. Also probably not so much the cost but the term as well, knowing Mr Makar has a new contract coming soon, fan favorite LOC as well.
I just think it's tough not to put mcdavid #1. We all know mcdavid is the best in the league right now, the margin is extremely small but still there. Just like everyone knows makar is #1 and it isn't even that close.
RIP to Johnny gaudreau. Completely shocked hearing he died
That list 😂😂

How about Brännström?
I love the Canes but Jarvis as a top 10 scorer is a reach to say the least
I think only 2 guys have led the league in scoring at 37 yrs of age...the drop off gets pretty steep after guys hit 30.
For most players that is true. For the superstars they have a longer shelf life. A freak athlete like MacKinnon I can't see a drop off coming

@@LockedOnAvalanchealso not to mention getting a better opportunity win and have a good player portfolio.
