God Bless Errol - at his suave, charming best in this, his last heavy-duty action vehicle! Good to see him re-united with his regular right-hand man, the excellent Alan Hale. Flynn had charisma and energy like no one else!!
When I was in high school (back in the early 80s) I had several photos of Errol Flynn in my locker. My friends were all into the latest teen idol but not me....give me a man like Flynn any day!
Errol Flynn was the epitomy of screen charisma. He totally personified such fantasy figures as Robin Hood and such fantasy retelling of battles such as the Charge of the Light Brigade. He just became the hero and made one believe in the action. Superb.
I am an 88 year old, and the films of today simply cannot even hold my interest, but these old movies, and in particular the ones which starred Errol Flynn, were simply spectacular........And totally without the used of CGI and all that Gimmicks that are a part of ALL of todays offerings.
Because, modern movies are made by entitled narcissist jealous of real men like this, so they just dedicate to trashing them. (e.g. Leonard and Zack Big Bang Theory) You are not alone, among us younger generation we got a saying "Creepy Nice Guys" because they glorify these evil men to be great guys, because women pick another guy over him. Baby Boomer, worse generation ever.
@@WilliamSilva-ml5nw I remember Flynn/ Don Juan saying something like that to his friend in the film's final scene. Erroll Flynn is immortal. His sheer presence elevated every film he appeared in. I get depressed at the lack of charisma in today's stars. Only Brad Pitt and Jason Statham have even a scintilla of the old time stars stardust!
@@mrwindsor9082 I paraphrased Flynn/ Don Juan's lines from the movie!!! You surely know your stuff!!! However... IMHO Flynn was a one of a kind that no one... past or present can come close to duplicating!!!
Ahhh, what would Hollywood be, without all the hunky Australian Leading men... Errol Flynn, Rod Taylor, Peter Finch, Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth, Guy Pearce, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, and 100s of others, even the greatest 1950s American "Indian" actor, Micheal Pate. I think we have some women actresses over there too somewhere .......
Yes, like Cate Blanchett, Essie Davis, Judy Davis and Naomi Watts. And I agree 100% about the Aussie leading men. And Flynn was the greatest of them all.
The swordsmanship here is like 8/10 but he gets a free point here 1:12 for being an absolute alpha. (And the music stops as well) 2:40 and a second alpha point
You recognize it because back then composers made LOTS of memorable music. Nowadays everyone copies Hans Zimmer. Even Hans Zimmer copies Hans Zimmer (but granted, some of the classic ones did the same as far as using your own work goes).
Errol's swan song to his Warner's adventure epics. Delightfully tongue-in-cheek. Robert Douglas surpassed all of Flynn's nemeses in face make-up alone (he was nonetheless great in his role as Duke de Lorca). I still wish that his real face could have been exposed at the base of the staircase. Go back to sentence two.
we will never see his like again, he was the best thats ever been.
One of my favorite Errol Flynn movies.
My very favorite

Errol Flynn ; Thé unmatched swashbuckler !!!
The greatest swashbuckler of them all!
Errol Flynn was the greatest film star of all time!
Agreed 100%
One of Flynn's best. Recorded it off the TV some 35 years ago, and still have it.

In many ways, this film was Flynn's great self-parody.
The real Errol Flynn makes Don Juan look like an Incel!
He still looked fabulous and most handsome to me!

One of my favorite movies&actors,no better swashbuckler in film I think.
This is my favorite Flynn film
Mine too.
I should add I go back and forth between this and Robin Hood, they are both great. I could watch them all day long
Excellent movie the best I've ever seen of Errol Flynn

Well said sir
Ah! one of the all time greats.
That was a pretty damn good movie.
For some reason, I like these old movies or tv shows.
I still enjoy these old flicks, good fun to watch!
This film is cinematic perfection!
Wonderful actor ! I am a fan of Errol
Me too, he truly made magic
i thought Don Juan was just a ladies man didn't realise he was a no bullshit hero aswell
He became a true hero and gave up the woman he loved for his country.
So gratifying that over 60 years later,Errol is still remembered, appreciated, and loved by so many. Thank you.
1 ear ring and that hairstyle. He was the first!
In those regards he certainly was ahead of his time! Excellent!!! ⚡♐
Only a legend can play a legend!!!
Don Juan's greatest claim to fame is that he was once played by Errol Flynn!
@@mrwindsor9082 There is a little bit of Don Juan in every man but since Flynn was Don Juan there must have been more of Don Juan in him!!!

bravo! bravo!
Flynn is still In!
My favorite Erroll Flynn Movie! Check out his fabulous 13 costume changes!
The don't make 'em like this anymore.
I love this movie.
The inspiration for Flynn Rider in Disneys Tangled movie.
The dvd for Don Juan has actual commentary form the director, very interesting stuff.

Is it weird I recognized this music from The Goonies?
Nope...both "The Goonies" and "Zorro the Gay Blade" reused the theme from this.

Thank you, I have been racking my brain for days trying to remember where I heard that tune before.
It was used in both newer movies as a callback to this movie, which was a classic in the 80s that everyone would notice
In Like Flynn!
"Do any of you happen to have six fingers"
Did most of his stunts.

Fact.
Flynn at his very best
Poll: How would Errol Flynn's swashbuckling "Don Juan" fair against Danny Kaye's "Court Jester" in a sword duel?
Thats just the movie I was thinking about when I saw this!
Danny would have fallen in love with Errol!
01:25 Goonies!
At 2:30 pretty sure one of guys says shit
Wasn't it in black and white?
no, beautiful color
@@gerrydooley951 Thank you.
