@@xeuxis8892 thats because the multiplayer system on AMS 2 is not "mature" enough right now, the devs are going to start focusing on multiplayer this year
PC2 and now AMS2 do not syncronize the track conditions between the several people in a multiplayer section. You could be driving on a drying racing line and other still have a wet track.
Love AMS2 !! Only recently reinstalled it, have not tried it for over a year, it's fantastic now, handling is great and fun but one thing I like is how the steering feels, very communitive and you can really feel what the cars are doing...love your content Dave !!
I've been with the project since day one, and yes it's improving, but I think it's clear we're pretty much where the sim is going to be physics-wise. It's incremental from here on out until we get AMS3. It's costly, but Reiza really needs another engine.
There will be the same people commenting on this vid that are seen in every single AMS2 UA-cam video saying it's too easy, too slidey, and the multiplayer sucks. Move on lads, if you are not enjoying it now, you will never enjoy it. Like Dave says at the end of the video, it's a lot of fun. And most of us play games to have fun. AMS2 brings the fun, end of story. Don't care how realistic it is, the odds of me driving one of these cars is about the same as me winning the lottery. If you really want to be punished by a game, go play iRacing ( yes, it's still a game ) and get your masochistic tendencies satisfied there:).
Nice Dave! I’d like to see ams2 grip up with a tad less slide as well. For my taste and setup rf2 or ac still ‘feels best’. But ams2 easy to jump in, looks great, historic f1, lots of other pros. 😊
Did you get any complaints from other drivers about mixing in ai online? I’ve seen people leave negative lobby chat about that but it’s something I have enjoyed with friends.😊
to answer your question I would not race AMS2 on lfm. I just see AMS2 as the sim i come to when i want to relax from competitive online racing and I just relax and race vs ai
They said LFM is either not compatable with how servers work with AMS or the multiplayer still has too many issues. Still, we got it on Assetto Corsa which is great, cheap, and, in my opinion, is a better game with better physics, more content and better force feedback than Assetto Corsa Competizione
A good one, I really enjoyed watching it. 💪 The weather transitions and all that really stand out, the gameplay is great too. AMS2 became my go to fun racer! Not saying it’s not challenging… Later, Dave… 👋
I'm glad you brought up Day to Night transitions. That is something that iRacing and LFM are BADLY lacking. Setting a 30 min race to 48X time, particularly something like Daytona road course, Spa or Le Mans, is infinitely more entertaining than the stagnant Set Time they do now. There are so many tracks that have great transitions, but we will never see then in their ranked races.
Look that 8:23 and then Watch the Kevin Estre pole lap at le mans 2024, if this is not realistic i don't know what is. That was the exactly same movement of the car
AMS2 keeps getting better with each update, this is no exception. I missed the first week due to having the plague, but the few days this week I've played the new update have been amazing. I need more practice with the 963 to avoid locking up, but otherwise it's a good fun time.
Since i got the new Update, i drive only Le Mans. No other tracks. I can't get enough of!!! AMS2 is brilliant!!!! It's so realistic and makes so much fun. I hope they change the maximum value of cars.
Another great video Dave. Keep em coming. AMS2 looks absolutely fantastic but during night time you can a lot of aliasing on the cars in front in this video. If you have the computer for it, I suggest turning MSAA OFF and use use POST AA and SUPER SAMPLING instead.
If they can improve the grip in AMS2, and sort multiplayer out, then it's got a really good chance of gaining new followers. I know every SIM drives differently, but for me, AMS2 drives completely different to any other SIM, so if they could close that gap and bring the driving experience and grip levels closer, I'd be happy. Although, hardcore AMS2 fans will tell you that AMS2 has the most realistic physics of all the racing SIMS.
AMS2 has the best AI and official retro content out of all mainstream sims. And I definitely don't want to see AMS 2 become yet another GT3 lfm racer. I'd rather see Reiza work on more retro content and implement a proper solo career, something similar to PC2.
Racecraft do AMS2 races. I thought the content was free, not just a trail. I've bought the Track coz I love it and the Bugatti layout, but considering the Endurance Pack is PT1 I think I'll wait to see how many parts there are and if Reiza will release a combined pack that will be cheaper than buying the individual releases.
I think AMS2 if fantastic as a light hearted sim racer. But they need to fine tune the tyre grip because sometimes it feels like a lottery, you dont know if you are going to understeer or overtsteer or what.
LFM integration should be number 1 priority! I love the game but I don't play it as much because single player is no fun. I really don't understand how is that possible that it's out for 3+ years and there is still no proper multiplayer IN A RACING GAME???
To be fair, the weather is pretty much the same as Project Cars 2, and with all the flaws that game had, the madness engine has always been amazing if we talk about immersion and VR. Reiza is "just" pushing it to show its true potential.
The Madness Engine is a beauty ever since Project CARS it's been creating great visuals, hopefully this won't be the last game produced using it. But since the purchase by Codemasters and then EA the studio seems to be dead, no updates since they announced they'd stopped production of the next Project CARS :(
A couple of things Dave, first of all love the vid, but was wondering if you change anything in the set ups? Plus do you always prefer to drive with the steering wheel and arms showing on the car you driving?
There are controls you can map for dialling down the FFB strength on the fly - can''t recall what it is called at the moment. Did you turn the lights on or were they on the whole time, the fact that the wheel was illuminated, which happens when you turn on the lights, and it looks really good in the game, led me to believe they were on to begin with...
Hi Dave, absolutely love your videos. Would like to ask a question, are you still using the simlab pedal, if not is there a reason? Going to get some new pedals and really can't make my mind up, fancy the simlab but nobody seems intersted in them.
I have same thoughts about the driving, is very very good after last update until you stay under the limit. But when you reach the limit the car is too easy and forgiving to drive, there's absolutely no thrill of the edge and this makes the experience somewhat dull. This is the only complaint i still have about AMS2, i hope will be fixed
Yeah, the margins for safety "at the limit" are so wide, that it actually gets distracting for me. There's many times, say when driving a high downforce car up to and over the mountain at Bathurst that there's a "Hand of God" keep the car stable.
First 😂 Edit after watching the video: I see we agree it has the best visuals as well as weather/transition engine out there. AI is improved but still way worse than the one in iRacing. How about physics Dave? I used to play ams2 a lot and then I moved to iRacing and only now, after year and a half I went back to ams2 to check those hybrids and I feel like they didn’t improve physics at all during those 18 months… I know there were changes communicated couple of times throughout but I just don’t feel it - how about you Dave?
I read every time that they improved the after each patch but, as you say, I don't feel it. They change it for sure but change is not necessarily mean improvement.
FFB is subjective. What is good physics to you and what is your frame of reference? Is it just physics that speak to you and make the car feel natural to you, or do you have actual experience in these cars?
@@RyKnocks well, yeah, I believe it will be subjective but what I’m after is some general understanding on how this type of car should handle based on it’s downforce level compared to what people say and what other sims have… it may be that everyone else is wrong and reiza is right but I find it doubtful.
@@SimCurves Please keep in mind that ffb is just one component. If car is surprisingly under or over steer it is not the ffb but the code behind car behavior… but I will check it 👊
AMS2 is fun in an ‘arcady’ way and not fun in a satisfying nailing driving technique way. If AMS2 was just a bit less playful at the limit it would be good for the overall feel of the sim.
