    Dick Cavett has been nominated for eleven Emmy awards (the most recent in 2012 for the HBO special, Mel Brooks and Dick Cavett Together Again), and won three. Spanning five decades, Dick Cavett’s television career has defined excellence in the interview format. He started at ABC in 1968, and also enjoyed success on PBS, USA, and CNBC.

    His most recent television successes were the September 2014 PBS special, Dick Cavett’s Watergate, followed April 2015 by Dick Cavett’s Vietnam. He has appeared in movies, tv specials, tv commercials, and several Broadway plays. He starred in an off-Broadway production ofHellman v. McCarthy in 2014 and reprised the role at Theatre 40 in LA February 2015.

    Cavett has published four books beginning with Cavett (1974) and Eye on Cavett (1983), co-authored with Christopher Porterfield. His two recent books -- Talk Show: Confrontations, Pointed Commentary, and Off-Screen Secrets (2010) and Brief Encounters: Conversations, Magic moments, and Assorted Hijinks(October 2014) are both collections of his online opinion column, written for The New York Times since 2007. Additionally, he has written for The New Yorker, TV Guide, Vanity Fair, and elsewhere.

    One of the fun things that I’ve ever seen was all in the family Sammy Davis Jr visits the home. As Sammy Davis Jr was about to walk out the door 🚪 he bent down and kissed Archie on his head. I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ it was written in the script but it was sooo funny. 😂😂😂😂👏👏👏

    Sinatra played a huge part in getting sammy back together after the accident cost him his eye,....and Sinatra would be on him to quit the cocaine......which is what Sammy is talking abot here....as far as Sinatra running...there were times he laid low until the smoked cleared...once when that guy was hit over the heah by jilly....and was near death....and when he and joe D...broke into the wrong room....trying to catch...Monroe.....doing something......are two incidents that come to mind

    At his funeral told the presents when Sammie didn't know what to do ask people around just to do the opposite they tell him, then everybody wanted to pick the microphone again just to tell their anecdotes on him, everybody laughs that was the best way to honor the life of the coolest guy in Hollywood

    Marlon Brando looks gorgeous when he was younger. I never knew that about George Harrison, seemed a good man. Still appreciate the older crooners, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby were a couple of my dad's favourites. Great... On this day!
    I laughed when you reminded me that I used to smuggle my radio as a kid in bed and we actually had the old candlewick bedspreads, I'd forgotten about all that. In my teens we used to have a CB radio & meet up (eyeballs 😁), kids today now have virtual social meetings instead 🙄 Looks like you're picking up a tan on your face Neil, it suits you x

    Jacques Cousteau walked by me just a few feet away, decades ago, and I was starstruck. I remember his appearance clearly, in black including the cap. Not looking at me of course.
    That day the Calypso was moored in the harbor for some event and I just learned that Arthur Guinness, the founder of Guinness brewery, sharing Cousteau's passion for the ocean, lent the explorer his 40-year-old former car ferry for 1 franc a yr and it was named the Calypso

    Check out the podcast “You Must Remember This.” This season is called Sammy and Dino. Very interesting. In this clip Sammy is referring to Frank Sinatra hiding out after he almost killed a man by throwing a phone at him and breaking his skull.

    Frank was always running somewhere..typically after a "broad". Mr Sinatra had a "financial interest" in the Cal-Neva Lodge. I read (in his bio) that some of his 'goombas' were on the movie set of "Some Came Running". See Frank run...Run Frank run...:)

    I have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rare much like all of the other Dick Cavett interviews

    If you owe money and the federal government gets involved it is important to note a no show court appearance is not running away. It means bail and penalties will ensue and the debt will still be negotiated. With credit debts interest can be reduced if the individual is unemployed or disabled. He has an option. He can return and pay or even file. But he is not running away. If he was planning that from the beginning then yes it is worth tracking him down but if he stuck it out as long as he could and stopped then he is asking for help and not lying to an official. Who uses that to judge character? You don't even know where the money was spent?
