The first I came across it, I really fell in love with it. I think it is the best quality phone so far that came out from China. The metal feel and the super clear display really surprised me for a phone of this price. The camera is also of very high quality. Very impressive.
In my opinion, out of all most Chinese OEMs Meizu makes the one of the best custom UIs. Even without the app drawer it looks simple, modern and light. I just wish the recent apps and settings menu were more traditional looking.
It is one of the most beautiful UI among the Chinese OEMs.But the user experience is not the best,at least it is not as smooth as I expected.
Im using the MOTO X 1gen and the MX4(not the MX4 Pro) both right now.Though my X is second-handed and with a lower,double-core cpu ,I still feel it is much better than MX4,smoother and smaller size screen.
I really want this phone it seems perfect but how do you go 'back'? do you need to swipe up from the home button or can you just tap the home button (not press it in)??
I feel like having to swipe up repeatedly to go back a load of times could be awkward and slow

Trust me. I am a Chinese and I tried several Meizu smartphones. The biggest problem of MX4 Pro is the speed. With the 2K+ resolution and Exynos 5430, it is slow and often lags........ Flyme OS looks gorgeous but not that responsive. It's more like TouchWiz in a gorgeous case. The fingerprint scanner works great and the build quality is great considering the price. Anyway, with the price tag, it's a good phone.

I currently have a HTC One M8 and im looking to upgrade. I love the specs of this phone. But im a little unsure about giving it a try. Is it worth it? I know it'll be faster than my M8 by far. But whats the experience like? Thanks

Funny how these Chinese manufacturers are making better finger print scanners than samsung, what a joke , the note 4 scanner is so difficult to use ,it's pratically useless.
plus this phone has a really unique feature called smart touch and smart bottom bar makes it easy to use one handed by moving all the controls to the bottom. really nice unlike touchwiz.
maybe samsung needs to learn from these guys how to make good lag free software overlays.

***** samsung's touchwiz is a joke, regardless of the gimmicky features, it's laggy as hell, i bought a note 4 expecting a lag free experience but nope, constant homescreen memory withdraw, dual window that freezes once a while and many more laggy scenarios have left me nothing but disappointment
flashing cm12 doesn't change the fact that touchwiz is poorly executed, plus there were a lot of bugs in the early builds of cm12 with the vibration not working, BAD battery drain, nfc not working etc, i'm sure the devs are working really hard on fixes but until then, touchwiz this pos is still lagging my ass off

It supports any launcher it's Android my friend.

This phone uses the same Samsung CPU. Yet it runs much smoother than any Samsung phones.
yeah hmm,this phone uses a samsung cpu like u said,the exynos(5430 or 5433 i don't remember). But most of the international version of samsung phone's use an snapdragon variant,wich is a qualcomm cpu,not samsung cpu lol
plus,looks faster because of the skin -looks-

try using ccleaner and advance system care. and using nova launcher.
See if Samsung puts the fingerprint scanner in the home button Apple would be ready to sue

That's not true. This phone in particular has Google Play Store and supports all Google apps. The same holds true for Xiaomi, Huawei, and Lenovo.
Xiaomi, Lenovo,Huawei phone does have Play Store which can be installed , same as Google Service too.
