      Brill iant explanation! The other key element in this shot I've noticed from your slo-mo which differs from the bandeja is the racket head dropping over the shoulder to help generate the racket head speed 👍

    Wow, such clean technique and the impact point is much higher than I thought for a vibora!

      That’s what I was saying at the start, it depends what time of result you want. In 2 weeks I’ve got a training video on the contact height for the Vibora...

      @@ThePadelSchool yeah, the vibora is a very versatile shot and one of my favorites. In the pro game the players mostly hit a variotion of the vibora, and very rarely hit a pure bandeja (at least in my opinion). Such a nice shot, even though it is quite difficult to get started learning this shot 👌

    Perfect Video to practice this weekend. Thanks Sandy. What are your thoughts on playing bandejas on the right side, viboras on the left, and how that has evolved overtime? Now players use both on all sides.

      Great question, I have a couple of videos in a couple of weeks where I'm training a player for both. But essentially in the mens game you are right. Players can hit the vibora so accurately from anywhere on the court and control the speed so well. It is only the nature of playing the ball coming from over the left shoulder that the right court players have to use the bandeja more.

    Hi Sandy, another brilliant tutorial. But the comment today is not related to it. I jsut want to say your great contribution to the international development of padel. So far, English speaker used to consider padel as a unfortunate version of indoor tennis practiced only by Argentinians or Spaniards, nothing to do with the huge interest it has provoke now a day. Many of them won’t face language difficulties to learn playing padel with your channel like many Spanish speaker when we need to find any data only explained in English. I wonder if I will lose my job due to this crisis, I will become a padel instructor out of my country.
    Regards, Seba.

      Thanks Seba, when I was learning padel I found it very difficult getting information in english, it is what pushed me to do this (my Spanish is muy mal! haha). Sorry to hear the crisis might effect your job, but it sounds like the padel community would be lucky to have you!!

    love this video, do one with kick to the fence.. My problem with it is it becomes like a smash and it hits the back wall and bounces into the court which become an easy ball for the opponents to attack...

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  3 роки тому +2

      I have a topspin one coming up. For the kick to the fence, it sounds like the angle of your body might need to be slightly more turned, as it is the angle of trajectory that dictates which part of the fence/glass it hits.

    i love these short videos. Where would you aim this shot typically from the left or the right? Around the serviceline towards the split between first and second glass?

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  3 роки тому +1

      Great question, depends what you are trying to achieve and the weaknesses of your opponents. When learning I suggest towards the corner. But at a higher level to the middle side of the player if you wish them to turn for example. Or wider to force them towards the back glass.

    Nice video! Congrats! But one question: and the fist, does it move?

    • @joesepu
      @joesepu 3 роки тому +1

      The wrist moves to give it more spin. You can hit the vibora with both continental and ,este de reves grips, depending on your level and how you feel with this shot.

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  3 роки тому +1

      The wrist moves through the contact. When learning I would teach it with a small wrist movement - just enough to feel the brush on the ball.

    I really enjoy your videos and like the content of it, thank you so much :)
    Question: I am getting better at these shots, however, struggling to defend when my opponent hits Bandeja/Vibora (especially the ones which kind of slides and does not bounce much); do you have any suggestion? In case you plan to touch upon this, that would be great. Thanks :)

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  3 роки тому

      If your opponent has a very good vibora and it stays low (which is not easy to hit), then you might want to focus on deeper lobs. But most of the time those balls can be blocked with a volley or infront of the glass.

    Sorry to get into the minuatie, but may I ask why do you prepare in the trophy position (58 seconds) and then again go back further behind the head in a second movement (1m06s)? Shouldn't you go right back and wait in the exact position (i.e roughly a 1m06 seconds), and then next movement would be forward only.
    In tennis obviously you wait in the trophy position, and then the racket drops further back, but I thought this was different in padel?

    This video lacks essential explanatory elements such as grip and racket angle with the ball, the follow through with the racket and the racket head speed which makes a 'bandeja' a 'vibora'. Not your choosing but the Padel community overdo it with all those names, compared to tennis. These shots both are forehand driven slice shots and the aim is to get the ball low, with spin in the court.
