Thank you! I'm trying SUP next Sunday for the first time. At 59 yes old 😳. I'm nervous, but it's been on my bucket list forever.

Me too. Been talking about it for years and tried it for the first time last week. Managed to stand up for 10 minutes but then fell off when I tried to kneel back down. To top it off, when I tried to get back on, the board tipped over and I got hit by the paddle and had to swim to shallow water. It hasn't put me off though - I'll be trying it again this weekend.

I am 67 been at it for a year now and have my own board, the benefits it brings to an older persons balance is immense!!

@@warrenshattock5099 , I am also 67 and tried it for the first time with my wife last Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are experienced sea kayakers and was told by our instructor that we would take to it quite easy, but I was skeptical. She was right, the balance on a water craft and body core strength plus ability with a paddle that you get from constant kayaking is very similar to what you need for Paddle boarding, but you do notice the extra strain on your calf muscles that paddle boarding entails. 👍

This is the best video I watched to date on getting onto a board from the water. Nicely done. Thank you! I will use it as part of my SUP instruction.

As NEW iSUP paddlers...we're experiencing all the challenges. I've managed to get up from the side or back without trouble, but my gf has has more difficulty due to shorter arms and her built in top flotation which get in the way...imagine many women experience this situation. Nonetheless, we're getting better at both standing, balancing and falling in...and LOVING the experience every time we go out for a few hours...Thanks for a great video!

this sport need engineers to find out some tool to come back on board. As heavy person, I find it discriminating to lose all the stamina for getting back to the deck.

Great information for getting back on the board! Yesterday I tried paddle boarding for the first time and I fell off and it felt impossible to get back on. The problem I was having was my legs were drifting under the board and I was perpendicular/ vertical instead of parallel like your video explains. Thanks!!

You need to correct your statement of preferring the board over the paddle, sometimes you dont get a choice. The paddle can be used with "swimming strokes" to chase your board, Ski, Canoe or Kayak for that matter.

But you can also just sit/knee on it and paddle

How do those little life preservers work, since I expected them to self inflate upon hitting the water ?

I recently fell off my SUP in choppy waters. When. I attempted. To reboard it, the board turned completely over. Result smooth underside with the fins expose. There was no way iI could get back on. Fortunately other sup boarders were there to help. It was very scarey. Any advice welcome.

Too short. Can you show big guy (with big belly and PFD) in doing this?

I’m a little concerned that an ACA instructional video has the two people demonstrating the techniques without lifejackets. 🤨 It would also be helpful to see what it’s like doing it with the recommended life jacket on.

Proč neukazuje pravou realitu jak se nasedá a jak jezdí obyčejní lidé. Vždy ukazuje že jen vysportované lidi a Lakate prodeji, ale pravou realitu neukažete. Že je to v celku slozité.
