Welcome to Tassie !!! I wish you had of come to Tassie in the summer. As amazing as it is in the winter, our summers, sunrises and sunsets rival anywhere in the world. There are so many hidden gems in Tas. Talk to the locals, they’ll point you in the right direction
Yes or our late spring! It's possibly the least attractive time of year (still beautiful) but to see all those bare trees lush and vibrant and the poppy fields with mountainous backdrops is a sight to behold.not to mention the rows and rows of hawthorn lined paddocks up north covered in blossom!! Incredible. Ah we are so lucky!
You guys look so happy to be there! As a West Aussie, Tassie is my favourite holiday destination in Australia because it feels like a different country. As others have said, try to get to see Lake St Clair and Cradle Mountain - just awesome places.
If you are into gourmet foods, I'd say buy a vanilla slice in Ross at the bakery. Best vanilla slice in all Australia (or at least in all the 88,000 kms we drove in all the states and territories of Australia). Definitely check out Mt. Field NP especially Horshoe Falls and Russell Falls.
IGA or Independent Grocers Australia are for the community, not for corporations. They support youth sporting events and help keep small communities going, unlike Aldi how unashamedly copy established brands place them in very similar packaging and send the profits out of the community and out of the country. They say they're the cheapest by making knockoffs and take 1cent off brand name products.
Some IGAs are cheaper than Cole’s and Woolworths and are quite big and modern. Others are small and dingy and price everything 200% above what they should. It all about competition in the area. Monopolised areas will always take advantage of you like in outback Australia pretending the remoteness is the reason for highway robbery
Love the postcard Tia! Tassie is amazing, a photographer’s paradise. Shame “The Wall” at Derwent Bridge is closed for Winter, it’s incredible. Also used to get scallop pies at Evandale Bakery -absolutely delicious! Enjoy Tassie….
Congratulations on getting to Tasmania - I'm Australian and still haven't seen WA or the NT. Love Wineglass Bay - bit of a hike up and down over the saddle (where the lookout is) but worth it. Even in March we had it almost to ourselves. 23:26 - That poster behind Tia is of Dove Lake with Cradle Mountain behind it - spectacular, and I saw a Tasmanian devil there! Another big thing for Tia - the Big Penguin (3 metres tall) in the town of...Penguin! 30 mins west of Devonport.
FYI: Tasmania has one of only 3 baseline air pollution stations in the world. It's at the Kennaook/Cape Grim facility and measures changes in the global atmosphere.
The westerly air flow goes TAS to New Zealand across the Southern Ocean to Patagonia then South Atlantic, southern Indian Ocean and back here. Not much human pollution in the way
The best IGA I've ever been to is the one in Atherton, Far North Queensland. It's on another level! The town seems to have been settled by immigrant Italians back in the day, and the store has the most amazing range of imported Italian charcuterie, deli goods, cakes and treats aswell as the best local produce. A fabulous hotbox aswell offering roast meals etc! So good!
I really appreciate the scenic camera work. It is imaginative , exquisite. Must have a love for nature to have that feel to create what you do. You are setting a high bar now.
I knew guys would love tassie & it gets better. It's just different to mainland Australia & its understandable why parts of it are world heritage listed. Tia, that postcard looks phenomenal
Tassie weather is rarely perfect but their surrounds are. Everything is picturesque and just beautifully untouched. I absolutely love Tasmania and am so glad you finally get to experience this wonderful state and all its beauty ❤
I am a landscape photographer living in Victoria and I love your postcards. The artwork is just stunning and the atmosphere you create is fabulous. I can't for your book to be released (big hint).
I'm so happy you're in Tasmania! You're going to love it. The only thing that's unfortunate is the amount of roadkill. Be especially careful on the roads.
When you reach Hobart, I highly recommend visiting MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). It's an amazing museum and a bit different from most! The ferry ride to get there is fun too I'm planning a second trip to Tasmania later this year, so I'm looking forward to your videos for some ideas
You guys need to slow down, you’ll have lapped Tassie in 2 weeks, I spent 5 and a half weeks driving around it and still came away having not seen all of the remote beauty spots. And yes, Bella is beautiful 😍
They shot through my part of the state already, and missed a bunch of beautiful detours along the way! I get it though. If you stop for every great view and curio you would never get anywhere.
Hey guys my wife and I had our honeymoon in Tassie. You are in for absolutely the best time while youre there. We highly (highly) recommend when you get to the west coast of tassie to do the West Coast wilderness railway wait till you see the King River gorge. It's a bit pricey but well worth it
Yay, Tassie!!! One of my favourite places, featuring two of my favourite UA-camrs! ❤ Hope you’re planning on hanging out in Hobart - you should visit the Cascade Brewery and do a little brewery tour. Lots of artsy stuff down at Salamanca in Hobart too, plus amazing architecture. Hope you’re loving it! 💫
@@ursulas3641 Definitely do the Cascade Brewery tour, the oldest brewery in Australia and maybe lunch in the beautiful gardens! Always the purest water and only the best quality ingredients, cider?
That postcard IS lovely! I've been to Cataract Gorge but didn't know there was a chairlift on the other side! We went to part of it in a school camping trip. If you haven't been and go near it, I also enjoyed the tesselled pavement beach near Port Arthur!
Welcome to Tassie! When you do the West Coast be sure to take a boat trip up the Pieman River from the town of Corinna. Corinna is one of the remotest towns on the island and is surrounded by beautiful wilderness, you can camp there and there's also lots of accommodation in old miner's huts. The river cruises are really the best way to experience the West Coast. There's also the cruise from Strahan up the Gordon River, which is more expensive and more touristy, but stunning nonetheless. When you come by Hobart be sure to go up kunanyi/Mt Wellington, you can drive to the top and the views are stunning, but the real gems on the mountain are the tracks that run through the bush, I recommend the Lenah Valley track leaving from the Springs to Sphinx Rock (easy flat walk), a magical place! Glad to see you finally made it here! Oh and the Bullock Festival is on in Oatlands this weekend, it's the most old world town in Australia.
@@tassiebushcraft3965 I can recommend those! If they have time, drive to the Wild West Coast (where my grandmother grew up), boat to Macquarie Harbour/Devils Gate - it's like the miners and convicts never left! I know the Lenah Valley track, and the Mt Field waterfall area is beautiful! 👍
Good job.... saving the best for last. Tassie is Australia distilled down to its magical essence. Surprises around every corner.... savour every moment.
IGA GROCERS OF AUSTRALIA thank u I never knew what IGA stood fir, but I ❤ shopping there there fruit and veggies are great , and great bread selection and they do have great specials
This is bringing back memories for me. My husband and I took our car to Tasmania and travelled right around the island on our honeymoon 52 years ago. We did one of the last voyages of the Empress of Tasmania out of Sydney, it started working out of Melbourne shortly afterwards. I’ve been back to Tassie twice in the last twenty years but only to Hobart and Dover on those trips. Places that have stuck in my memory for more than 50 years are Bicheno, Richmond, Port Arthur and the whole of that peninsula, the caves and hot springs way down south at Hastings, Mount Wellington, Queenstown, the beach at Strahan where the waves roll in all the way from Africa and the trip on the Gordon River.
Another great video, Tasmania is a bit of a hidden gem :) I have to give a bit support for IGA shops, they aren't a chain, they are a part of the Independant Grocers Association and individualy owned usualy by local families and therefore don't have the buying power of the big chain supermarkets. Love watching your travels.
My Island home, its amazing and the best scallop pies I lived near the cataract gorge, all weekend spent there. Springtime with beautiful daffodil walk. I live in Geelong now but love my island home ❤ thank you for your beautiful promo
All this is bringing back such nice memories of the 3 weeks I spent circumnavigating Tassie with my aunt a few years ago. You were lucky with the weather given it's winter. I hope you get to do a cruise down the Gordon river and see the huon pine.
My son and his family ran into you in Hobart yesterday. My son loves Tassie and I am sure you will too. I was so jealous, you are my favourite you tube family. Enjoy Tassie🌻🌻

Our family travelled down there on new years day in 1999 - flights were empty becuase of fear of the Year 2000 problem. We travelled from Hobart up to Launceston and had a great time - when our kids were 5, 4 and 3. We have been back several times - more to Hobart to eat around Constitution dock - the food is sensational! I also discovered the Lark distillery which made one of the best malt scotch whiskies in the world. The 1999 version was a benchmark year! Your travels being back such memories watchiing them - all good!
We are ossies from Qld ,just did Tassie in April, may first time for me,and we just loved it, l hope you get to Deloraine, and penguin, loved them so much that really liked Hobart too. Enjoy 😍❤
Welcome to Tassie! I've been watching you both for a while now and so happy you got to experience my home state of Tasmania. Enjoy! Places to see - Boat Harbour, Sisters Beach, back roads in the midlands, Russell Falls, Waterfall Bay, MONA, Cockle Creek, Fortesque Bay, Bruny Island, Little Missy Patisserie in Hobart (noms) Any farmers market on a weekend. Salamanca and The Nut / Stanley (the best crayfish pie). Tooooooo many more to mention. 😁😁😁
Tasmania is stunning! Went with dad last year on $59 Jetstar flights… hired a car, visited 4 national parks and drove our way up the east coast! Stunning views… have an amazing time guys!!
@@johnschannel449that the total return cost, about half of that is for the car. If they flew and hired a car for the two weeks it would probably cost the same. And one of the advantages of going by ferry is not having to worry about luggage restrictions.
since cheveyo loves eggs and bacon you have to go see eggs and bacon bay south of hobart we had a holiday shack there built by my dad in the early 60's also cygnet is a nice town my uncle had a shop and bakery there till 75 the shops still there bakery is gone
I love checking out IGA's when I travel. You'll find they often stock some really great local produce, honey, bakery goods etc. We even found one in Sydney that had its own cheese room and the cheese was amazing. Regular groceries are expensive but as you've found out, they are located where the big stores aren't.
Oh guys, i hope you will be able to see some Southern lights but it may have already passed for this year, some spectacular natural colours in the sky in Tassie.

About a year ago my wife and I found your lap of Australia videos. We are now 4 months into a lap ourselves. You guys were a big catalyst leading to our decision to do it. Thank you for the videos.
Love the Tassie video. I drove around the island with my 8 year old son 19 years ago. Thanks for taking me back to Wineglass Bay. It was just as beautiful as I remember it. I also remember how friendly the Wallabies are! After Hobart (twice because we had to go back to collect my son's hat😂) we drove up the centre and stayed near Cradle Mountain..so many Wallabies there! You have inspired me and next week I'm driving across the Nullarbor from my home in Adelaide with a rooftop tent. Keep up the great work guys!
3 coffees and suggestion that this goes towards a trip up the Gordon River at Strahan on the West Coast. I rode the bike around Tassie and remember at Port Arthur when you south the next land is Antarctica Gordon River Cruise departing from Strahan......
cruising Strahan river is exy but definitely worth it, if its only one thing you spend your money o its that, its like being in another world before time its so pristine.
Yes. Must catch the first cruise up the Gordon River. The reflections off the water are stunning if its calm. Definitely worth the money to see this pristine wilderness.
Absolutely. There is also a live show in strahan with audience participation (you dont have to Tia). One of the funnest things ive done in Tassie. I know you are budget travellers so perhaps cant afford but another amazing boat tour to do is Bruny Island near hobart. Highest seacliffs in the world, boating through rock pillar and going to the southern ocean. Run by Penticost (petticost?) Cruises. It is amazeballs and adventurous fun. Please look into which is most affordable for you to do!
Talking about remoteness. By standard car you can reach Cockle Creek, south of Hobart. If you feel fit enough to hike across to Lion Rock Beach, you will be as close to Antarctica as possible. Mostly camping, not too sure about other accommodation, although it does look inhabited, maybe any airbnb ?
@@21gioni Yes, Hastings Caves is in the Huon Valley, it has beautiful fertile lands, handmade wooden boats, rustic crafts and natural wonders galore! They can pick apples and pears, and try some local cider too! Maybe continue to Cockle Creek, the southernmost end of the world! 😄

I think it was about your 4th or 5th video. You two are highly entertaining, informative, inquisitive and charming. We are in Melbourne and can't wait to see what you get up to after Tassie (one of our favourite places).
This makes me want to go back to Tasmania. Bay of Fires and Freycinet are fantastic. Some other great spots IMO are the Tasman Peninsula, Mt Field (not just the waterfalls) and the highland lakes near Tarraleah. You can camp for free right by the water at Brady's lake - although it would be very cold in winter! Also while I was fairly indifferent to the BT-50, this is making me want a Mazda3
So far Tasmania’s living up to expectations of being charming and quaint mixed with rugged and wild natural beauty! The weather doesn’t appear to be as harsh as I thought it would be given it’s winter! Bella’s also the name of our German Shepherd so a fine choice! Congrats on visiting all Aussie states now!

I'm happy you both made the decision to visit, wait till you visit Cradle Mountain 😘 Tia I love love love the postcard of the Flinders Ranges, you've captured it so well, I would be happy to display this in my caravan as my walls are a litte bare 😄
The spot at Razorback Lookout in the Flinders Ranges you chose for the postcard is one of our favourite spots. We absolutely love it and the postcard completely captures the feel of the place.
In Hobart did you get the botanic Gardens, they have an sub antarctic plant section. And you will find a critically endangered cushion plant that endemic to Macquarie island called. A. Macquariensis. I’ve been studying it for years and never seen it in person.

So pleased to hear a fellow Western Australian has visited the great state of Tasmania, awesome
That bakery is thought to be one of the inspirations for the Studio Ghibli anime Kiki's Delivery Service.
Also the best sausage rolls
Not much human pollution in the way
@@christinecook6310 That's the point
The best IGA I've ever been to is the one in Atherton, Far North Queensland. It's on another level! The town seems to have been settled by immigrant Italians back in the day, and the store has the most amazing range of imported Italian charcuterie, deli goods, cakes and treats aswell as the best local produce. A fabulous hotbox aswell offering roast meals etc! So good!
That sounds really good 😋
The Lobster Shack in Bicheno is absolutely worth it guys!
100% agree 😋
Bicheno is my favourite place in Tasmania
I hope you guys have Russell Falls in your itinerary. It's in the Mount Field National Park, about 70kms from Hobart. A truly magical place.
Hope you're going up to Cradle Mountain and across to Strahan. I love Tasmania. Most beautiful state in the country.
Tassie weather is rarely perfect but their surrounds are. Everything is picturesque and just beautifully untouched. I absolutely love Tasmania and am so glad you finally get to experience this wonderful state and all its beauty ❤
I agree Tasmania does remind me alot like New Zealand in some areas, and the scenery and greenery 🥰
Please slow down dusk to dawn. And drive to the conditions. We have so much wildlife. And they graze on the green verges if it's been a dry winter.
When you reach Hobart, I highly recommend visiting MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). It's an amazing museum and a bit different from most! The ferry ride to get there is fun too
I'm planning a second trip to Tasmania later this year, so I'm looking forward to your videos for some ideas
You guys need to slow down, you’ll have lapped Tassie in 2 weeks, I spent 5 and a half weeks driving around it and still came away having not seen all of the remote beauty spots.
And yes, Bella is beautiful 😍
Totally agree. They have missed so much and should have gone west coast first.
It's a bit pricey but well worth it
Glad you love tassie, it’s Australia’s secret garden, enjoy. ‘Flinders ranges postcard looks great, you’ve captured the soul of the ranges’
I've lived in this state for 6 years and miss Aldi everyday.
Thanks for your videos. Have been enjoying them thoroughly.
Absolutely, well worth doing
@@tassiebushcraft3965 I can recommend those! If they have time, drive to the Wild West Coast (where my grandmother grew up), boat to Macquarie Harbour/Devils Gate - it's like the miners and convicts never left! I know the Lenah Valley track, and the Mt Field waterfall area is beautiful! 👍
Don’t forget doing the “Fatman on the Pieman”, it’s the smallest car carrying river crossings Punt Ferry I’ve been on.
Good job.... saving the best for last. Tassie is Australia distilled down to its magical essence. Surprises around every corner.... savour every moment.
IGA is actually my favourite grocery chain. I hate the busy carparks and queues of woolworths and Coles, and then aldi is just too weird.
So many great memories of wine glass Bay.
I hiked in and camped there in 1980 when I was 20 years old.
Thanks guys .
Best wishes, safe travels!
I love the postcard of the Flinders Ranges. Spent family holidays there as a child and it has a special place in my heart.❤️❤️
IGA GROCERS OF AUSTRALIA thank u I never knew what IGA stood fir, but I ❤ shopping there there fruit and veggies are great , and great bread selection and they do have great specials
Welcome to Tassie!!!!! I’m so happy to see you guys are here 🎉❤ Prepare yourselves to fall in love 🥰 Tassie is like nothing else.
My Island home, its amazing and the best scallop pies
I lived near the cataract gorge, all weekend spent there.
I have so enjoyed watching your travels. So glad you liked my home town of Broome. Tasmania is really a whole different new side of Australia I am glad you are getting to experience. Enjoy!!❤
Howzet going, Tassie is amazing, the best water in the world, the oldest forests, huon pine, as an Aussie its our secret, from the rest of the world. I agree, its somewhat like NZ. Love that you both appreciate this special place, enjoy stay warm
Im so bad att comenting (sorry bad english) but I and my daughter absolutely love ur videos, and you, so thankful to be able to view the world via you two. Tasmania seem so beatutiful.... and ur Postcard... jeees so beautiful / Benny and Tyra in Sweden :)
Tia’s postcards DO!! Keep getting better & better 🤩🤩
We are ossies from Qld ,just did Tassie in April, may first time for me,and we just loved it, l hope you get to Deloraine, and penguin, loved them so much that really liked Hobart too. Enjoy 😍❤
When I went to the Bay of fire it stopped raining just before sunset, the sun came through, and we got a double rainbow!!! Amazing weather!! 🌈🔥
I found when i moved down here that there's lots of rainbows in tasmania
@@hereandthere6001 No kidding. I just moved down too, and it feels like I see a rainbow every other day.
Welcome to Tassie!
I've been watching you both for a while now and so happy you got to experience my home state of Tasmania.
Enjoy!
Places to see - Boat Harbour, Sisters Beach, back roads in the midlands, Russell Falls, Waterfall Bay, MONA, Cockle Creek, Fortesque Bay, Bruny Island, Little Missy Patisserie in Hobart (noms)
Any farmers market on a weekend.
$59 jetstar , l think they paid $1000 for the ferry
@@johnschannel449that the total return cost, about half of that is for the car. If they flew and hired a car for the two weeks it would probably cost the same. And one of the advantages of going by ferry is not having to worry about luggage restrictions.
Tia, your postcard is stunning..I just love it! ...& Bella's a great name for your car. Enjoy your travels in beautiful Tassie. Cheers 🦘🦘
since cheveyo loves eggs and bacon you have to go see eggs and bacon bay south of hobart we had a holiday shack there built by my dad in the early 60's
also cygnet is a nice town my uncle had a shop and bakery there till 75 the shops still there bakery is gone
I love checking out IGA's when I travel. You'll find they often stock some really great local produce, honey, bakery goods etc. We even found one in Sydney that had its own cheese room and the cheese was amazing. Regular groceries are expensive but as you've found out, they are located where the big stores aren't.
As an Australian I haven't even been to all the states yet, you guys beat me. Tasmania is incredibly beautiful, very jealous 😊
I need to go back to Tassie, it's so beautiful, thanks for sharing!
Oh guys, i hope you will be able to see some Southern lights but it may have already passed for this year, some spectacular natural colours in the sky in Tassie.
We had Aurora just last week down south of Hobart.
Lying face down on the bed with a backpack on is my favourite blooper of all time. It still makes me chuckle. Don't worry, we all feel like that sometimes. 💓
I have never been to Tassie, it's definitely on my bucket list. To watch you guys visit these places further inspires me.😊
I really appreciate the use of the map, especially at 12:10. It added clarity and made it easier to follow along. Great job!
Dont / cant race around Tasmania! Such a beautiful place
About a year ago my wife and I found your lap of Australia videos. We are now 4 months into a lap ourselves. You guys were a big catalyst leading to our decision to do it. Thank you for the videos.
This is really fantastic to read, thank you! I hope you are having a wonderful time 😊
Love the Tassie video.
If you love the Bay of Fires scenery then the multi-day walk from Stumpy's Bay to Anson's Bay along the coast is probably right up your alley.
3 coffees and suggestion that this goes towards a trip up the Gordon River at Strahan on the West Coast. I rode the bike around Tassie and remember at Port Arthur when you south the next land is Antarctica Gordon River Cruise departing from Strahan......
have been following your trip for a while and seeing your video editing skill and filming quality growing so big!
You must see the remote West coast at Strahan and Macquarie Harbour. See the Convict ruins on Sarah Island and take a cruise up the Gordon river.
cruising Strahan river is exy but definitely worth it, if its only one thing you spend your money o its that, its like being in another world before time its so pristine.
Such a beautiful postcard!! You are so talented Tia!
You can drive the Hastings Caves very impressive cave with a massive underground river.
@@jenniferharrison8915I was there in 1982 in those days the road to Hastings was made out of tree logs and gravel.
Yes I didn’t actually mention those things because I would hope they would experience the beautiful landscape of Tasmania.
@@21gioni Yes, it's far more accessible now! I really hope they take the time to see outside the usual tourist spots, there are many hidden treasures in Tassie! 😄
@@jenniferharrison8915 I wish to return one day maybe buy a home there.
My partner and I couldn't stop laughing when you subtitled Burrrr nurr nuhhhhh! at the start.....it wasn't lost on us, been watching almost since the start.
Tassie is a place of breathtakingly beautiful landscapes, delicious food, lovely people and an amazing place to live or visit. I'm happy you both made the decision to visit, wait till you visit Cradle Mountain 😘 Tia I love love love the postcard of the Flinders Ranges, you've captured it so well, I would be happy to display this in my caravan as my walls are a litte bare 😄
I’ll be there next week
MONA! Please go. Best 'gallery' or 'museum' or whatever you might call it, on Earth. Incomparable to anything you've seen before.
You must visit lake St Clair. One of the most beautiful places on the island
The spot at Razorback Lookout in the Flinders Ranges you chose for the postcard is one of our favourite spots. We absolutely love it and the postcard completely captures the feel of the place.
Tassie is awesome. Tip when driving to the west coast. Look out for black ice in sun shadow.
Oh yeah! Check road alerts for those roads. 😮
Don't forget to look out for square wombat poop. Yep, not joking.😀 Tia your Flinders Rangers postcard is so beautiful. You're very talented 🥰
In Hobart did you get the botanic Gardens, they have an sub antarctic plant section. And you will find a critically endangered cushion plant that endemic to Macquarie island called. A. Macquariensis. I’ve been studying it for years and never seen it in person.
A really good recommendation
Love seeing the beautiful scenery. You are doing a lovely showcase of Tasmania, which is a delight to behold. Being the coldest time of year would be a challenge for you as well. The post card is truly beautiful, you are so gifted Tia. ❤️ 👏🙏💕
I was soooo hoping you'd call the new car 'Ruby' to reflect the colour but Bella is really pretty ! I'm so glad you're loving Tassie... it's a beautiful state
As is customary in Australia, the appropriate name should theoretically be "Bluey". Or if one is so inclined, to be in a more insulting state of mind a "Ranga". Just a thought Hooroo Possums.
@@Bbee_16 I think since the first Mazda was 'Blueberry' then Bluey would be a little too close... the other one probably isn't an option even though the new car is red hahaha....
Once again guys you've been a great job showing us Tasmania the start of it I hope you stay there for months Tia The Postcard is awesome you have done a really good job I love it you will have to make more than one to share with all of us a postcard company would be happy to pay you royalty for that postcard another way you could make money to pay for you're travelling around the world Tia thank you for showing us the big potato when we all get old we all look like that so don't put it down we have all got our own character love watching years guys pick up the good work cheers Lindsay
Tasmania is so beautiful!! Thanks for taking me along

Welcome to my home state, beautiful Tassie and my old home town of Devonport. You are in for a real treat. Glad you captured the beauty of the (not so) big Potato! Bwhahahaha!
Tassie will be just your speed. Explore the beautiful NorthWest, you will find Paradise (literally). The NE area around Anson's Bay is pretty special too. And the driving roads are insanely good. Enjoy.
Love the 'technically going under the speed limit' even on the hairpin bends 😀
Tasmania is my favourite state. We have spent a total of 4 months, travelling the state in our motor home. We still haven’t seen it all. That’s a PIE FACE ,I think……
So glad you’ve made it to Tasmania. It’s just so beautiful
