No one knows what happened with the animation with that sae moment. Side note that demon slayer animation was basically wano arc. Based on a Japanese story. The monkey is luffy, dog yamato, bird pineapple head, hero is momo
One of the animators actually spoke out recently about the reason for Season 2 animation apparently the production team had the animators on a very tight schedule. Basically between animating this season and the Nagi movie this year there was a very strict deadline. So the animator states to meet that deadline production cut alot of frames, movement, and fluidity. Then they tried to mask it with things like the visual auras we see come of all the players so production would have less corrections to make save time and meet the deadlines. The same animator was supposed to work on 5 episodes this season but left after 1 episode because he says he knew the final product of this season would look visually off.
@ the production companies sets the deadlines for the anime studios they handle the logistics side for anime studios essentially from the planning, raising funds and setting deadlines etc and I definitely feel u it really sucks that such a great anime like Blue Lock has to suffer like certain other shows from the impossible deadlines and tight work schedule of production companies

As a manga reader I hate that Sae scene so much cause something the anime usually does well is showing the goals/skills that in the manga can be hard to follow (Like Nagi's goal last episode) but this was even worse to understand.
