Thanks Bill ! Spiritual Formation should always be guided by Scriptures.

I was shocked and delighted with the first half of this then confused and disappointed with the last. I won’t say why… but I will ask you to consider praying and asking God about this video. I’m not talking down to you, I appreciate your videos very much! God bless us all, in Jesus Name, amen. All the best!

Much-needed anaysis. May God deliver one in danger of becoming a modern-day "pharisee" through this teaching.

What are you referring to when you say "Spiritual Formation"? Is it Contemplative Spiritual Formation? How are you distinguishing between "Spiritual Formation" (Contemplative Mysticism) and Biblical spiritual formation? Thank you. May the Lord show us His Truth.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
    2 Timothy 4:16-17
Prove all things; Hold fast that which is good. The heart is deceitful above all things; and desperately wicked, who can know it? Search the scriptures, not your heart. God's word endures for ever.

All those who truly love the Bible will love its divine author. You can not truly love the Bible and not be transformed by it. Those who say they love the Bible and do not love its Author, do not truly love the Bible as was the case with the Pharisees. They loved themselves and the sense of superiority they got by knowing the Scripture. Truly loving the Bible means growing in one's love for God.
We must be careful here. All who truly love the Bible and its Author fall short in some way in loving its Author, God, and living out the truths of the Bible. But those who truly love the Bible and its Author are being humbled by the Bible and conformed into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).
