You should probably get the M professional package - that allows for the 10 stage traction even in rwd - that will truely be the best of both worlds. Not everyone would want a rwd without traction so probably helps with resale value too.

Hi Joe, thanks for the great videos! I have the same exact speced M3 Comp RWD as yours. The only difference is that the steering wheel is on the Correct side of the car LOL.
I wish the Touring version would come to the U.S. !
i don't suppose you can tell us what was adjusted in your suspension? i presume mainly toe and camber on the front?

Yes Joe, random comment but you actually got me into mountain biking with that video you uploaded in 2020 at Woburn bike park with your Saracen - that video literally triggered my interest in the sport. Got a full suspension Orbea a couple months later and been hitting trails ever since, big up.

I just ordered a G80 manual here in the States. I’m going to use it as my daily, that’s what they are for.
@@FreshlySnipes I daily drove my F80. Minus the real bad weather here. And that is because here many people drive stupidly in bad weather. Already looking forward to driving my G80 daily.
@@buckrogers8858 that’s what it’s for now that it’s so big lol. I’m in SoCal so I don’t have to worry about the weather anymore so I got the RWD version. When it rains here people don’t know how to drive, which scares me.
Bought a new Limited Edition ‘21 WRX STI in October… got rear ended in the rain in December, car was totaled. Got me an M3 tho, so I can’t complain too much I guess.
@@FreshlySnipes Man that sucks. Glad you are ok. What color combo(interior/exterior) did you get on the M3? I live in New Mexico. And yes same here rain equals speeding idiots and many car crashes. We rarely get rain or snow here, but when it does...oh boy watch out. During those times I just hop in the 07 Speed 3 and go about my business. My M3 was totaled last year. So now the G80 xDrive is next.

40 mpg on a run driven conservatively. Very welcome after the M2. Best we could get out of our M2 comp was 34 when trying to see the best it would do. Mark of good engineering and set up to get great performance when you want it and good mpg when careful. M3 and 4 a bit big in my opinion but fantastic cars. Looking forward to the new M2.

Ahh yes I know your pain, the S58 sips far less fuel on long runs compared to the thirsty S55, many say efficiency doesn't matter, when fuel is £1.60+ a litre , it really does. Can't wait to start the M2 project now :-)

Suspension secrets are round the corner from me and took my M140i there. omg what a difference and amazing how tweaking with just the stock part can make it a whole different driving experience just daily driving feels amazing and when driving hard feels so more planted and stable im taking every car i ever get there

Hi Joe, you can actually turn the fake sound off by removing something in the trunk. There are videos about this. I'm curious for the next M3. You are a lucky man! Keep it up.
Thanks for the inspiration Joe, a few days ago I called in to my local BMW dealer and agreed a very good trade in for my 10 month old M135i, with less mileage than your M3, against a new M240i. I have to disagree with your comment in your review of the M240i about it being aimed at younger owners, I certainly do not qualify! Great reviews and user videos of the M3 and enjoy your new one!
Ahh great to hear man, congratulations! Yeah that wasn't the best comment of mine, think I was just referring to the cabin being a bit more funky than the "grown up" 4 series, but you're right. I'm hopefully getting an M240i long termer this summer 👌👌

I always put bucket seats in my sports cars. It's makes up for getting in and out struggles. You sit way lower, makes the whole experience twice as good.

The market is so weird for these things. After I drove my G80 off the lot, I could have sold it for more than $10k over what I paid (which was the sticker price.)

Well produced and highly informative content as always, Joe! I'm currently eyeing on a F87 M2 Compeition. Considering the improvements from the F80 M3 to the G80 M3 and the upcoming G87 M2 shall follow, would you recommend buying a used M2 compeition now? Or shall I wait for the upconing G87 M2?
Just love it: well used and dirty! No show queen as it should to be.
After switching from xdrive to 2wd you have the option of 10 different dsc settings. I’m mostly in 2wd + 3/10 traction.
Looking forward to seeing the new car. How long have you had to wait for yours Joe? I’ve got a new 4 series on order, places the order on Nov 30th and don’t think it will be here before May, so curious how long others are taking!

@joe achilles - Car -> Settings -> General -> Engine Sound. There will be an option in there to adjust the fake sound
@dave carlson I can't find it on mine - went - car - settings - general settings - then could only see sound for the audio
Hey Joe you have made no mention on all the protective paint treatment you added to the M3! How does the paint look now? Was it worthwhile having the ceramic coating and the clear plastic film on the front, does it really self heal on the stone chips?
Joe, it’s interesting to hear you had issues with the software update. I’m sure it had a similar effect on my 2020 M340i, the pops and bangs on the overrun are massively reduced.
Seems to be an EU noise thing, but it’s not good that they can retrospectively change the character of your expensive purchase.
The specs of this M3 is amazing. I am already looking forward to seeing your new XDrive in the "flesh". Will it be as good?
If you use meguiar's car interior cleaner it will bring the Alcantara steering wheel like new. Use it on my B5 RS4.

Hi Joe, just watched you speccing the new one, seems a bit of a no brainer to get the x-drive (first time there is no compromise). Do you know what has happened to the M340i -I see that you can configure it if you click on M3 on the configuration then change engine, but how can you get to the M340i touring? I can’t afford an M3 but an M340i could be a possibility.
Joe, you've clearly some great times with this G80 M3 RWD and taken us along that journey. Just looking at the mud and grime on the car, it took me back to when Ceramic Pro did such an outstanding job coating the car ( ua-cam.com/video/1BOMInYMg3Q/v-deo.html ). I guess all it needs is just a good valeting job and it'll look just as stunning as it did then . It's been really fun sharing this experience with you. 👍

to work in your M3. Got my M4 yesterday and cannot get either to work. In fact bluetooth only allows me to skip tracks so I have to do everything via my phone
Regarding the over air update. It takes 20 min or so and shuts your car completely down. I made a mess of it as I started the process while getting gas. Everyone was cool about it though.

The exhuast sounds good to me - what is it? I tend to like natural loud revvy 6 cylinder engine without all the pops and bangs and farts.

I know you arent a fan of X5's but why don't you look into the X5 M50i = better handling than the X5M without sacrificing much of the overall performance and they're are growing in popularity out there (I believe).

Hey joe! Hope all is well. Love your vids mate. Apart from getting in and out of the carbon bucket seats is there any other drawbacks. How are they in long drives ? Are they comfy similar to the m2 comp seats? I do tracks occasionally but do a lot of highway regional windy road driving so lot of long drives. So not sure about them. Appreciate your help 🤙🏽
Thanks man! I find them very very comfortable, far more than the ones in my M2. Lou and I spent 8 days back to back in them during the Petrolhead tours (9-10 hour days), we had no issues whatsoever. All I can suggest is trying them for size as they won't fit everyone 👌

Joe, I can't explain why, but I love my M 4 a little dirty/dusty. And it is white .When it gets washed and scrubbed I can't wait to get it a little dirty. But I hate a shiny steering wheel and the sidewalls of the tires .
