I’ve listened to this song in 2013 just when I got my first job. I replay it every time I walk to work from school. It’s 2022 and I still listen to it. It’s a masterpiece. It’s the most beautiful pianist I ever met I period. Thank you for everything Animenz
From the description: " And with this, I can retire now in satisfaction." Oh but you didn't retire, you went on to become known as the Unravel pianist guy.
This piece is... just... a masterpiece.... I really don't know how to describe something like this and put it into words, but its something like this: When you create music or art or express your ideas, ideals, and personality, you pour your soul into it. I myself am a pianist and I have experienced this myself. Learning how to play and playing a piece is physically draining. You literally feel tired after practicing enough even though all your doing is moving your fingers. When play music, you lose part of yourself.... but this part is in turn given to everyone who is listening. When you play a piece as strongly and as beautifully as possible, you can almost feel the energy of the song, the chords resonating off of each other creates a sort-of "power". After finishing the song, you lose this "power," but you regain it by seeing another person's art. It almost acts as a cycle. You can gain all sorts of inspiration and feeling from other people and then you devote this to something and in turn, you give this to someone else. The point is, reading your description, I can see that this song has drained you, but when I listen to it, I can almost feel the energy of the song. To me, this song may act as a power source for new ideas, but to someone else who could be living in a dark place or having a hard time, it almost heals them. Music is amazing and I would simply like to thank you for devoting so much of your life to creating it. So finally, I think everyone on youtube should join me in offering Animenz a huge "Thank-You" for his work. Thank-You Animenz. I hope you see this.

I notice a shift in the keys there... Since I am not a good piano player and haven't played with all pedals yet... What does this do? Do you know that?
IMaxwellI I don’t entirely understand the question but if you mean the three pedals underneath the piano, the pedal that shifts the keys slightly to the right (which is located of the furthest left of the three pedals) helps to soften the sounds of keys. It might be used in part of a song that calls for many different key sounds to be heard (like the keys runs he was doing at 3:03 he used this because that part of the song isn’t meant to be very loud and because he didn’t want to sounds of each note bleeding together. The other basic pedals are the sustain (most commonly used and does what its name says- drawing out all notes) Animez uses this throughout majority of the piece. And finally, the middle pedal (with a name that I forget) but it’s job it to sustain specific notes and leave others not affected - for example if you press down a note and then press down on the pedal it will sustain in but other notes you play after with be unaffected - hope that helps :)
Shadowmoon_Playz scaling keys so perfectly and smoothly displays magnificent talent and its stunning to listen to. As someone who has played piano for more than a decade, playing with such grace and precision is still unfathomable :)

Actually people who are able to master this piano sheet once in their lifetime whatever how long it takes them are simply piano gods, can't even play it with 12 years of piano practicing 😂😂😂 This is so beautifull *-* 😍
My best friend learned part of this. I love to always listen to it because it gives me hope when I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. I'll always appreciate him. He's someone I'll never forget. Thank-you, Tony, for making my life so much more lively and positive. 💕
I don't even like anime, and I have no idea what this arrangement is based off of, but by God I'm going to try my hardest just to play this tune now before 2015. This has truly lifted me up, and I can't stop listening! Beyond impressive! Thank you so much for taking your time to write the sheet music and sharing with us. Not enough virtuosos do that kind of thing these days.
I just read the description and I can assure you this is a magnificent 'pinnacle' which you can definitely be the most proud about. I'm here uncontrollable crying on how beautiful work you made and will continue to listen to this repeatedly.
I am propably the only one not being jealous by the length of others pianists fingers because I have the longest fingers in my school (I am 16 btw) by far ;( (I can reach 11 keys from my thumb to my little finger)
10 years huh? Honestly, i'm not here from the very beginning, but your playing really does touch my heart 😍😭. This piece feels so different with the 10th anniversary version, yet they are totally beautiful 😇😇
I still go back to this arrangement by Animenz and 4:10 will NEVER fail to give me the goosebumps. That part where he incorporated Euterpe with My Dearest reminds me so much of Inori's sacrifice. It almost makes me cry but I realize I won't falter nor cower from making sacrifices when it comes to the person I love, my dearest. It's so artful and beautiful what you did, Animenz. I love this to bits.
@@kanadeneko5000 animenz said in one of his descriptions that this is his 2nd hardest song he has ever composed. If animenz says its difficult. Its fucking difficult
I like this version more than the original anime version. it's very nostalgic, if anyone ask "what so good about guilty crown?" then I'll answer "animenz, my dearest. animenz"
This day is the day when history was made. This was also the day that i decided to set goals for myself for piano. This was the day, 3 years ago, I said to myself, one day, I will perform this. Well, apparently nope, its hard as hell. But unlike many things out there, this is one of the few things I don't give up on. This was the only song that ever changed my life. Thanks Animenz!
10 years ago, and I still come back to the song. Animenz, ever since I was 16 I listen to you, and whever I show people your art(most often Unravel) their jaws drop. Keep at it, and have a good life, greetings from Poland! 😌
It's because Animenz plays insane technical piano parts like it's nothing, almost like a "robot." At least, I think that's the reasoning behind it. I think Ishter's covers naturally show more emotional because some of his most popular covers are of really emotional songs. (e.g. - Glassy Sky) Either way, love both pianists. Both have their own talents and specialities, and have made many insane and beautiful covers.
Yeah, personally, I think Animenz's style is better. I can clearly see why theisther's style appeals to people, but I think Theister is better with lots of low notes, ust pounding and pounding the harmony. animenz is better as more technical things, as shown by his terrifying abilities with his hands (don't get me wrong, theister is still amazing, but I just like Animenz more...
i personally prefer Animenz simply because i consciously hear when a note is not play or in a different tone (idk what to describe it as) Animenz is very technical and hits all the notes whereas Theishter is more laid back and plays in a different style which doesn't necessarily do this , which i also like especially pieces like glassy sky. That's my guess anyway.
3:47 how is that possible?!?! You must have an invisible hand somewhere!!! and 5:13 was just as crazy! Great job, keep doing what you love cause this was amazing!
Thank you Animenz for playing, remaking and recovering musics from anime. I never get interested in piano from listening any classical music, but this is different. You made me interested in piano. I actually bought piano three weeks ago because of your amazing recover. I'm bad, ofcourse, but you made me feel like I want to play piano like you do, and I hope I will eventually, maybe not. You are different than any other pianist in world, because you are making people change. You are amazing(wordless, I can't say anything better). Thank you.
+xXTurtleEliteXx Unfortunately it's like that with like every anime. They end so soon, and you don't want them to go, but you know it's time to move on.
I'm literally crying now. I haven't watched the anime, but that was the most beautiful piece I've ever heard so far. From 3:47 It was just omg I don't even know. Amazing
The soundtrack and aesthetics were amazing.. but characters were meh.. I came in with high hopes but it really just felt like a watered down code geass with more fanservice. Plot was eh and characters unappetizing.. the 2nd cour is actually disgusting. Though my standards are a bit high
I’ve attempted many of animenz’s hardest pieces, including unravel, this game, history maker, swordland etc. And everytime I’ve learnt up to halfway or even 75% before giving up after hitting an area that was out of my skill. However after a few years of not trying his pieces so that I could focussing on my classical piano exams, I’ve come back and found myself able to finish this beautiful piece (and one of animenz’s hardest’s at that). It took 1 and a half months, and it serves as a testament to my growth as a pianist.
Wow, this really brings back memories to a time where I didn't even know who Animenz was, and was just watching anime as a kid.. There's something so special about seeing his journey as a pianist.
for a while, i never had a youtube channel, but i made one so i could comment on this post. Ive been through a lot in my life and quite personally, you probably see these comments everyday, but your music inspires me and brings me tears of joy. No matter what happens in my life, music has always been a cure and I have to thank everyone at ANIMENZ for really helping me get through my depression. Keep making music. :)
Dont try hard songs like these right off the bat, try easier songs like twinkle twinkle little stars or easier remix of yout fav songs until you memorized all the key position and until you can play with 2 hand
Maybe nobody realized but he actually mixed the original "My Dearest" (2:15 - 3:00) with "Euterpe" (4:28 - 4:46) and "βίος" (4:16 - 4:29). (amazed by how much of an otaku i am)
Still just so good. Its hard to put into words the things you do for us and how well you can play. I think i speak for most of us when i say, we thank you animenz.
The Best Pianist I've ever seen, and listened to. This is not my first time here, but whenever I play your piece, it always keeps telling me that you're godly at pianoing. (pianoing 🗿)
I said it on the Unravel video and this one is so good, I'll say it again: To he who thinks he can play piano better than Animenz... Go home. You're drunk.
Both of his hands have minds of their own. I’ve played piano for 18 years and still can’t achieve what he does. My left hand doesn’t have as much rhythm but this guy is just a legend. Thanks bro. Sometimes we need to see how good our competition is so we can try our best. This is crazy. Thank you animenz
As someone who could comfortably play many classical hard pieces like La Campanella, Fantasied Impromptu, Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, it actually took me a long time to learn this piece, so I'd say it's difficulty is nontrivial and I have a lot of respect for the composer.
One day back in 8th grade i was randomly watching youtube and stumbled across this video, it had me hooked and I started learning to play piano that very week, its crazy how time flies
4:29-4:37 is just so nostalgic to me even though I never heard it before. The piano is a beautiful instrument as well as the amazing pianist playing it bringing it to life. That section opens up parts of my mind that have never been opened like that, asking myself questions I don’t usually ask myself. That’s amazing isn’t it.
Haven't watched the anime, but this is certainly the hardest song I've heard on piano. Beats the organ classical pieces by Bach I listen to as well. Imma be honest, toccatta and fugue in d minor is easy compared to this XD
Never heard the original version of this song and I've memorized every single note. Sometimes, when I'm watching an anime, I'm like "Omg! I recognize this opening! Where have I heard it befo- Oh! Animenz plays this song :DDD"
I can play the replay button as well as he plays the piano.

Keerthan Shagrithaya Euterpe is another great song from this anime
Is guilty crown. Iust watch it!
Yeaah...its guilty crown....u ve gotta watch it...its great
THE SATISFACTION IN HIS HANDS WHEN HE PLAYS THAT LAST NOTE AND SLOWLY WAITS FOR COMPLETE SILENCE AND FINALLY LETS GO. UGGHHHHHH THIS MADE ME CRY IT'S DEFINITELY YOUR BEST WORK SO FAR
Actually people who are able to master this piano sheet once in their lifetime whatever how long it takes them are simply piano gods, can't even play it with 12 years of piano practicing 😂😂😂
This is so beautifull *-* 😍
i feel you....
i have 10 years of experience and i can play till about 3:40 now. it doesn't sound that good... but okay. you can do this too
brother to be honest this is hard but not 10 years hard it's more like 3 months of dedication towards only this
and 4 hours a day
Simply piano : Allow me to introduce myself
I can play it. Not as good as he can but it sounds good enough I mean
My best friend learned part of this. I love to always listen to it because it gives me hope when I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. I'll always appreciate him. He's someone I'll never forget. Thank-you, Tony, for making my life so much more lively and positive. 💕
by how you play, id never guess you were struggling with your health, you're an astonishing pianist! i love your work!
Strange Alchemy did he have health issues?? I didn't know...he is fine now right?
lp cost read the description...
The song is written by Supercell, a standalone Japanese band. But what you say is very true :D

I just read the description and I can assure you this is a magnificent 'pinnacle' which you can definitely be the most proud about. I'm here uncontrollable crying on how beautiful work you made and will continue to listen to this repeatedly.
Me toooo, I feel the same way and am currently balling my eyes
Life of a pianist:
Getting jealous of others when they have longer fingers than you
yah
Pretty much....
I am propably the only one not being jealous by the length of others pianists fingers because I have the longest fingers in my school (I am 16 btw) by far ;( (I can reach 11 keys from my thumb to my little finger)
Ah... Aha. Ha ha.. *Gets jealous*
i can reach 12 keys
Could i pay you to be my neighbor?
I'd pay so much
Miss MakikoMaki I'll be your neighbor. You'll wake up from me singing chandelier in the morning
PyroJayxX lol
Khalil Koné 😂
Neighbor is not enough... how about room mates? CAN WE BE ROOM MATES?
I forgot to mention Bios, 4:10 was Bios and then Euterpe next. Genius
It touches my mind much more than the original one. This is the best work that expresses feelings well.
上手すぎん?!めちゃくちゃ感動した😭私の好きな曲弾いてくださってありがとうございます!

The op2 the everlasting is a lot more difficult lol
@@kanadeneko5000 Really? Can you upload your own cover though?
@@kanadeneko5000 animenz said in one of his descriptions that this is his 2nd hardest song he has ever composed. If animenz says its difficult. Its fucking difficult
Me with every action anime song
I like this version more than the original anime version.
it's very nostalgic, if anyone ask "what so good about guilty crown?"
then I'll answer "animenz, my dearest.
Yup I’ve been playing for about 3 years myself and yup.. probably in the next 10 more years 😪
4:15 Oh my god, I wasn't expecting that. Thank you for making this song.
those running notes thing, that tickles my ear to eargasm
10 years ago, and I still come back to the song. Animenz, ever since I was 16 I listen to you, and whever I show people your art(most often Unravel) their jaws drop. Keep at it, and have a good life, greetings from Poland! 😌
I don't understand when people say Theister is emotional and Animenz is a robot. I almost cried listening to this and I haven't even watched the show.
It's because Animenz plays insane technical piano parts like it's nothing, almost like a "robot." At least, I think that's the reasoning behind it.
I think Ishter's covers naturally show more emotional because some of his most popular covers are of really emotional songs. (e.g. - Glassy Sky)
Either way, love both pianists.
Gordon Lee it's probably because of the amazing accuarcy animenz has when playing his songs, probly doesn't literally mean dead robot or smth
i personally prefer Animenz simply because i consciously hear when a note is not play or in a different tone (idk what to describe it as) Animenz is very technical and hits all the notes whereas Theishter is more laid back and plays in a different style which doesn't necessarily do this , which i also like especially pieces like glassy sky. That's my guess anyway.
Animenz=Synthesia
3:47 how is that possible?!?! You must have an invisible hand somewhere!!! and 5:13 was just as crazy! Great job, keep doing what you love cause this was amazing!
3:47 was his pinky XD but yeah... that's crazy!!!
listening to this again after years and the memories goddamn. still gives me the shivers listening to this.
(heart broken😭
And i still cry...
Thank you.

this reminds me of something very beautiful yet very sad
+kairous ken Your lie in april
When Guilty Crown ended but you still wanna see more, but you know that it's the end of that anime
+xXTurtleEliteXx Unfortunately it's like that with like every anime. They end so soon, and you don't want them to go, but you know it's time to move on.
The ending was good
+Tomoyo Sakagami reality that's the sad reality life isn't always a happy ending that's why XD
I love how you somehow fit a little bit of Bios and Euterpe in this. You're version sounds so lovely.
That moment when your void is actually a 1200 pound piano...
It's actually a 900 pound....
been six years since I've watched this. Still makes me smile. amazing.
I'm literally crying now. I haven't watched the anime, but that was the most beautiful piece I've ever heard so far. From 3:47 It was just omg I don't even know. Amazing
Guilty crown is a great anime, you should watch it.
great anime but....yeah...don't get your hope to high tho...
The soundtrack and aesthetics were amazing.. but characters were meh.. I came in with high hopes but it really just felt like a watered down code geass with more fanservice. Plot was eh and characters unappetizing.. the 2nd cour is actually disgusting. Though my standards are a bit high
Der Klassik-Part in der Mitte beeindruckt mich immer wieder und passt sehr gut zu dem Arrangement! Sehr inspirierend *-*

What's his hardest?
@@thewhowhatwherewhyho Unravel, by far.

The classical phrases at 3:03, I just melted into my chair.
Well, this is gonna take a while to learn...
It took me 2 months to learn it... Goodluck bro ^.^
William Pan That must be 2 months of piano practice 24/7, because it certainly takes longer than that man haha
Tristan Ross Yeah, I wish I had that much free time to be able to learn this in just 2 months..
AlcaAMV Don't we all. So many cool anime pieces to learn and play, so little time :(

for a while, i never had a youtube channel, but i made one so i could comment on this post. Ive been through a lot in my life and quite personally, you probably see these comments everyday, but your music inspires me and brings me tears of joy. No matter what happens in my life, music has always been a cure and I have to thank everyone at ANIMENZ for really helping me get through my depression. Keep making music. :)
Did anyone else want to start playing piano because of this?
yesh
Yep.
Hopefully I'm getting my first digital piano this summer.
+justin abequibel I'm pretty sure there were some that gave up because of this also
Dont try hard songs like these right off the bat, try easier songs like twinkle twinkle little stars or easier remix of yout fav songs until you memorized all the key position and until you can play with 2 hand
Wah really I thought this song might be perfect for a beginner
Maybe nobody realized but he actually mixed the original "My Dearest" (2:15 - 3:00) with "Euterpe" (4:28 - 4:46) and "βίος" (4:16 - 4:29). (amazed by how much of an otaku i am)
I noticed it too
Bruh I think it was in the og song made by supercell
I've listened to these OSTs too much to not realize it. Three of the best GC songs sprinkled together in this beautiful cover. It's a real treat.
I'm sure we all noticed it :)

Both of his hands have minds of their own. I’ve played piano for 18 years and still can’t achieve what he does. My left hand doesn’t have as much rhythm but this guy is just a legend. Thanks bro. @@coob5989 Thank you so much !
2018, and i still think this is by far the best piece you have done, no words to describe the beauty for this song.
As someone who could comfortably play many classical hard pieces like La Campanella, Fantasied Impromptu, Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, it actually took me a long time to learn this piece, so I'd say it's difficulty is nontrivial and I have a lot of respect for the composer.
@Patrick Bai wow

4:29-4:37 is just so nostalgic to me even though I never heard it before. The piano is a beautiful instrument as well as the amazing pianist playing it bringing it to life.
