Thanks for the video. I just stayed there Feb 2023. Brought back memories as kid in late 70’s and 80’s vacationing with parents. Honestly I wish it stayed and they took down Excalibur! What a dump that place is!
Escalators don't break, they just become stairs😂
Haha well said, I was thinking at the time why am I even questioning walking up
Wonderful snapshot mate that will be appreciated even more in years to come.
Great video and memories. I remember this tiny casino between The Tropicana and Motel 6. Mom and pop casino. Miss the old Vegas. Remember Odyssey Records? Cheers J!
Thank you William, I totally remember odyssey records, I used to go to big b’s on Maryland parkway more, now I think it’s a firehouse subs
Thanks for the cool tour and history lesson Jason. I hope to meet you and say hello at the Pearcy show at Lava Cantina. 😎
I’m glad you enjoyed it and I look forward to meeting you, come up and say hi
Thank you Jason for the history lesson. Very nice
The ever-changing Las Vegas strip.
Lots of memories as a performer in Las Vegas! I'll miss playing the Trop for sure - between the showroom, lounge, ballrooms and even the casino floor a few times lol. In fact my youtube profile pic was taken there on NYE about ten years ago haha. Thanks for the video and all your vids!
Wow! Kind of a sad day today for me. It was a very cool and historic place. Nice video Jason.
Thanks for watching, definitely a sad day
Excellent commentary and history lesson.
Thank you Nicole!
Reminds me of when I went to Vince Neil's bar at Circus Circus. A drunk person singing Karaoke and three of us there. Empty and a real bummer. It was my stag night
Thanks for sharing this.
I enjoyed it. ✌🏼😎
Hey Tony,
I’m glad you enjoyed it
Great video & history lesson🤗thanks so much for taking the time to film & share this🙏🏼
I appreciate the kind words and I’m glad you enjoyed the video
That was great, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jason, very grateful for this video. Brought back a flood of memories. My wife and I nearly got married there but opted to get married at the Graceland Wedding Chapel instead. Sorry to see the Tropicana go. 🎧
Thanks for this video Jason:). The Tropicana Hotel always holds a special spot in my wife’s and my heart. That place was “magic in a bottle” at one time ⚡️⚡️
I get it and I’m Glad you enjoyed it
Bandido here, classy tribute to an iconic part of Las Vegas history, and what a history the Tropicana had. Always sad to see places go where people spent good times. On the bright side you’ll be able to catch some NY Yankee games.
Thank you and yes as bummed as I was, will be great to see the Yankees here
Thank you for the walk thru video Jason you did a great job, p.s. go to the salvage sale & get some room keys to sell
Thanks! Yes I’m going to look into it for sure
Will miss this place great share and channel see you soon cheers
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video
I'm so sad. I absolutely love historical places and and this Tropicana hotel looks perfectly wonderful and I'm just so sorry they're doing here's my problem as you were walking through the pool area I could not help but hear all of the birds chirping and carrying on and having such a wonderful time in all of their trees and bushes out there. I am wondering what will happen to them? This is spring and obviously there are plenty of nests with baby birds and eggs!! What will happen to them? will someone come in, a conservationist and remove them before they actually remove the foliage? Tear me apart to think there wont be anywhere really for them to find a place on the strip where they can live. Looks like the last green place, with water too. I'm horrified by the whole situation. A baseball stadium? Come on. Thanks for your video. 😢😊
I agree and the feral cats who live on the property. Demolition begins in October I believe
Great video bro !
Thank you William!
Thanks Jason I went to this hotel 20 years ago, cool to review it and remember the coins sounds out of the machines back then.
Yes the good ol days when the coins made noise.
Thanks for watching
Great video, thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for watching!
I was there in 2005 and 2007. Great times. Peter Love performed there. He was a classmate in high school
Great tribute and nicely made video. Sad to see this one go. We'll be in Vagas in June - any idea when they plan on actually taking down this place? Thanks, Rich.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I heard October is when it’s scheduled to come down
OH FYI, before cameras where installed in casinos the "stained glass feature" was installed to be used at the Tropicana by security, there is a platform all around on top with viewing ports to keep an eye on the tables for cons
What amazing memories this brings back, I remember every once in a while one of the birds would bet out of its cage. Thank you for doing this Video, I bartended there my junior year in 1991 when I was a student at UNLV and then over at the Dunes in 1992. Those were crazy times in that city …. Of course, nothing was as fun as when we would go every Tuesday afternoon to the Glitter Gulch, and do our homework in one of the back booths 😂…. No, not that type of homework, actual bookwork. 😊
Jason, I’ve never been to Las Vegas, but it’s always saddening to see a a beloved part of a city’s history demolished. This reminds me of the end of Casino when all of the old mob owned casinos were imploded for new corporately owned casinos. I really enjoy this informative video, and I am looking forward to seeing more on your channel. I find history very fascinating. Thanks again.
Thanks again Sean? Much appreciated!
It’s funny I rushed to get that out and I forgot to mention the string mob ties they had in the beginning, maybe it’s better that way lol
it is so sad what is happening to our once great city of Las Vegas
Reminds me of my first trip to Vegas back in 1998. My dad and I stayed at the Riviera and the hotel to the left of it was just about to be demolished.....I can't remember the name though. It was fun to wander aimlessly from floor to floor. Saw Kool & the Gang at the Desert Inn....all those memorable places have been demolished. 😪
You have to enjoy Vegas history while you can, unfortunately it doesn’t last
First hotel I stayed at - first trip to Vegas Thanksgiving 2001.
Thanksgiving buffet and I did see the Follies show that weekend. 😊
Very cool, glad you had that experience
Hi Jason, thanks for this final walkthrough. It reminds me of what happened to some of the Catskill resorts, but without a ballpark to replace them.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video
Stayed there in 2018 from Australia and it was like I was still there.
We got married there in 1998..sad to see it go..thanks..!
Thanks for posting
Thank you for watching!
I had no idea the Athletics were moving to Vegas 🤦♀️ What an iconic hotel, sad to see it go.
Gonna take a couple years to build and move them in, but sad for sure
Hi Jason
Hi there
Wow, This Old Place still Looks Nice. I’m Looking Forward to Attending a Detroit Tiger MLB Game when it’s Done⚾️⚾️
Great and interesting video. Thanks!!
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching
Was there in 1998 drank some beers there 🍺 😅 sad to see it go.
At least you had the experience

Final Days of The TROPICANA Las Vegas, Last Walk Through! 1957-2024
Nice job!
Thanks for watching!
That place has got to be covered in Vince Neil DNA!
I suppose that’s possible lol
My son got picked out of the crowd to go on stage at the magic show at the Trop. Was his name Rick Thomas? Anyway…..great Vegas show……had some great times there back in the day.
That’s a very cool Vegas memory, thanks for sharing it!
Should have had Johnny jump in the pool……..😂
He wasn’t with me on this visit
Seems like was kept up well? Sign of the times, moving forward play ball! lol
Would love a room key!
I think there will be a lot out there, some of the keys I saw were so old they put a sticker over the outdated show it was promoting
I was married at the Tropicana back in 2005…….
Very cool, hope you liked seeing the chapel one more time even briefly
You may well have been the last person to walk up that escalator! Zero Fucks given!! Haha!
Besides the fact it's a historic place, as you walked thru the pool area, I could hear all the birds that call those bushes and trees home. What will happen to them? This is spring for goodness sake! How many nests with eggs will be destroyed?? Has this been considered? Will they have any conservationists come remove them? Please help them!
It’s sad, same with the feral cats who live there
Demolition is October I believe
Let's go A's
It can’t get worse for the A’s maybe this will help
Too bad
It always smelled bad. 🤣🤣
Interesting. I've never been to Las Vegas.
You still have time, just no Tropicana visit
