    The water spilling test is just misleading , just stop it....
    It is not a representation of how comfortable the car is, in reality the virtus suspension is stiffer and not even close to as comfortable as the city

      It's paid promotion, as I drove virtus and reject immediately because of it's stiff suspension and poor comfort. I then drove slavia and it offers way more comfortable ride than virtus

      Changing the City's tyres to 195 Section would do wonders to its handling & ride comfort further. City has a very potent handling even in standard guise but the tyres gives up way before chasis does.

    City's braking is better than slavia and virtus.. Someone exactly pointed it out..

    It's hilarious how people are ganging up on City. It is the joint winner in handling, has a very good low speed ride quality & second to Virtus overall in aforesaid. As for outright performance is concerned, it isn't slouch anyway & extracting that from the renowned VTEC NA is more satisfying than sudden shove of the GDi TurboPetrol which doesn't have a good reliability track record till now & drinking habits are highly sensitive to throttle inputs. City is a keeper car which aces reliability, good efficiency & overall a far better aftersales service experience. It is a no brainer for many & that is why City is such legend a in Indian automotive scenario!!

      @@naveenbhat1930 prettymuch all petrol cars are GDI fyi, whats your point, im pretty sure you wanted to say turbo lag in TSI nevertheless mileage at the end of the day is all down to the driver's throttle inputs. If it were between seat comfort and underthigh support the video results would change drastically

      These reviews seems biased ,tried salvia before considering City , after driving City felt it has much better ride quality than the Salvia.
      Also PPL are covering GC which they complain alot ,i have driven City with 250+ kg on the back seat trust me it did not scratch through any of Bangalore speed breaker,but you should be cautious though.
      VTEC is a gem ,CVT is better than DSG

    What is the acceleration of the Slavia and Virtus 1.0 manuals? Everyone knows that the CVT makes thing slower always. Also, for the normal buyer, I feel Honda's rock solid reliability should commend some points on its own as a one-up on VW/Skoda.

      @@someforall doesn't make sense.. cylinder failure is a common occurrence across most brand and it's most common in Honda civic.
      DSG is an extremely complex mechanism but they have already overcome all the issues now. So again what's your point ?
      Also Honda City has soft suspension and can have a massive bodyroll in tight corners.. so I wouldn't want to get into comparisons..
      There's no advantage you'll get over skoda/VW interms of reliability.

      @@VinitNayar Yeah, try telling this to my friend who owns a VW Vento. The car has only run around 30k+ kms. Apart from the minor issues (Not important as they are common in almost all brands), the first major issues that he faced was injector failure. Took the car to the service centre and replaced the faulty parts under warranty. Got the car back and it ran fine from then. He took the car to 2 long Highway trips after that and on the return journey of his second trip he found the car to be misfiring at times. Took the car to the service centre again and found out that another injector had failed! He hoped that everything has been sorted for good. Then one day his dad took the car out and got stranded on the road. Informed RSA, they came within an hour and took the car to the service centre (again!). This time it was the return pipe that was broken. The car had to be left in the service centre for some days....got the car back and everything was as good as new. The day before yesterday, he came to my home. He said that the car seemed to be losing power at times. I told him to take it to his beloved service centre like always😅... He called me today and gave me the good news. There is a leak in the Turbo housing which in turn causes the car to go into limp mode. VW Reliability at it's finest👏👌.

      @@pavis7834 the biggest issue with Honda City is terrible control post 90 km0h which is a known issue unlike the allegations based on random issues.
      Infact in terms of safety rating, braking, handling, cornering, precision, torque and stability at high speed, skoda ve easily outshines Honda cars. Maybe hona is better in tens of some features or maybe a few better quality offerings... But never better in terms of reliability or stability. VW skoda are more like a benchmark.

      @@TRoad1771 I am not an astrologer to talk future. But I am certainly a witness for the past. I have seen many brands desperately competing with Honda City for several years and lost battle. One of the victim is VW Vento, which is RIP.

      Your city was doing RIP when vento launched in 2010 then beaten by ciaz in huge margin. It is all about product life cycle brother. This is 2nd generation of vento after 10 years and it is 5th generation of city. This is the only bread and butter of Honda rest of their india car taxi driver class. Any car which can change her clothes in every five year aggressively will do well. For me city is soulless and boring car which always copy the rear lights pattern from BMW 😂 lacking its own brand character.

    I am sure the City Hybrid would have given a tough fight and who knows would have won the contest. It’s dynamically superior as it is more balanced because of battery pack and has all disk brakes. Bring it on zigwheels.

      @@SuperImbadude : Hahahaha…bhai Zara dimaag lagaaya hota tto pataa chalta ki extra weigh do not alwys translate to extra body roll. Kon bol diya? Jab nahi pataa ho na, tto muh nahi kholna chaahiye. Kindly do your homework and educate yourself that EVs are more heavier than similarly sized ICE car but have far less body roll than ICE cars. Why? Because EVs have low centre of gravity than ICE cars. Thanks to that EXTRA WEIGHT that sits on the floor of the car instead of on the roof. Simple physics.
      And regarding braking, dude, you seen to have not done your homework again on the new City hybrid. Unlike the regular city, it comes with all four wheel disc brakes. Go figure.

    I really don't have any idea about the two German car's cause when I booked the gen 5 City they entered the market. I Currently own a 2022 Honda City gen 5 base model manual transmission it's about 2 months and I have driven it like 4000 + km. Yeah it has a soft suspension which give comfortable ride in city and bouncy on bad patch of Highway of you have a high speed of 100 or more than it but will not create any major problem. Also no doubts the handling of corner is much stable for me ( I have not driver both the German car's yet) and the engine is damn smooth at the same time responsive. If any one who is planning for slavia or virtus have a look to City gen 5 Buddy. Take a test drive it may change your opinion and it's the most reliable product form 1998 till date the engine is same with minor twerking. The only downside you feel is like the ground clearance but that's why we call it a sedan na.

      Bro i have driven the city manual, slavia 1ltr MT and virtus 1ltr MT on the same day. what i found was city's ride quality s good but the steering response in slavia nd virtus was way better. i picked slavia over virtus becoz of the ride quality. I dnt knw if that particular car had problems or all of them have it and yes one more thing slavia's interior was better than that of virtus.

    Actually the diesel city fairs pretty good (imo better than VW group cars) in corner test due to stiffer suspension, so an after market suspension revamp would do it wonders, wouldn't it ?

    Ese hai ki baap, baap hota hai. And Honda City is the baap of all the cars in this segment. Cars came and went by but City sat at the top of the food chain. You name it - Maruti SX4, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, Fiat Linea, Nissan Sunny, Tata Indigo Manza. The only other brand that continued its model to rival City is Hyundai with their Verna. But everybody knows it sits at the second position regardless of being a more value for money proposition. Kuch saalon baad Slavia Aur Virtus bhi apna boriya-bistar baandh kar chali jaayegi. 😂

Verna still struggles to catch up with city regardless of being it’s arch rival. Kuch saalon baad Slavia Aur Virtus ka bhi wohi haal hoga jo unke previous models ka hua tha. Tujhey kya lagta hai ki VW/Skoda ne India specific model hi Kyun design kiya? Peechey record ko analyse karne se VW ko pataa chala ki India m actually kya chaahiye Aur isiliye localisation kiya. Iske kaaran price tto kam hua but quality compromise ho Gaya. Everybody knows that Rapid and Vento were much better car than Slavia and Virtus that replaced them.
      Tto bhai ye bewakoofi bhari baat tto Mat hi nikaalo ki mai future nahi dekh rha Isilye predict nahi kar sakta. Past record se future decide hota hai. Aur past record m koi bhi car City k saamney tik nahi paayi.
      Jahaan tak Verna ki baat hai, Maine kab kaha ki woh City se better car hai? Go read my comments again. I said it’s a better value for money proposition than City. That doesn’t mean it’s a better car than City. It’s the reason why Verna still is at the second position in premium C-segment space. There’s a difference between overall a better car and better value for money proposition car.
      Aur bhai Maine Pehley hi bol diya ki mujhey Abhi Slavia/Virtus k current ki sales figures se koi matlab nahi. Zyaada sales ka matlab ye nahi ki woh better and reliable car hai. Maruti SX4 Aur VW Vento ki bhi sales figures apne time m Honda City se zyaada thi. Aur jab Verna launch hui tto usney tto record rod diye iss segment m. But last m Kya hua…sabka ka bag pack ho Gaya Aur Verna second position m ludhak gyi. So don’t judge so early. Abhi jumma-jumma char din huey hai Slavia/Vitus ko launch huey. Hoga uska Abhi sales zyaada. 5-6 saal baad dekhatey hain kon market m tikata hai.

      Performance oriented folks Slavia aur Virtus dekhenge. Jinko economy pe jyada dhyan hai wo city or Verna ke sath jaege. Driving ke maze alag level ke hote hai. For me driving is not a chore but a pleasure. A INR 2-4 lakhs premium over an 8 year tenure is totally worth the driving performance these German cars offer at hand. The 1.5 tsi is a gem of an engine and you should take a test drive to feel the difference.

    I drove both slavia and virtus. Due to stiff suspension, the comfort is worst in virtus. And no doubt about the fact, if anyone is sedan lover, he/she will choose city or slavia over virtus any day because of comfortable ride.

    Why Slavia lost the cornering test??..... Answer - just look at the distance between road edge and rear wheel of Slavia and other two cars when it approaches the corner.....

      Nice observation.
      City was almost over the line. Virtus slightly away and Slavia was the farthest from the line while approaching the corner.
      Yet Virtus hit only one cone so it really seems to have the best handling.

    i want to purchase Slavia 1.0 L ambition.... This is my first car i want suggest wheather to hold on skoda or should i go for virtus/kushaq/Nexon bcoz i like only these 4 cars ... You tell how and why any of these cars have better worthy to buy in next 4month ?
    Personally Slavia looks better as i feel....

      I really don't have any idea about the two German car's cause when I booked the gen 5 City they entered the market. I Currently own a 2022 Honda City gen 5 base model it's about 2 months and I have driven it like 4000 + km. Yeah it has a soft suspension which give comfortable ride in city and bouncy on bad patch of Highway of you have a high speed of 100 or more than it. Also no doubts the handling of corner is much stable for me ( I have not driver both the German car's) and the engine is damn smooth at the same time responsive. Have a look to City gen 5 Buddy. Take a test drive it may change your opinion buddy. And it's the most reliable product form 1998 till date the engine is same with monir twerking. The only downside you feel is like the ground clearance but that's why we call it a sedan na. Have a good day buddy 🙂

    I guess uve heard about the TSI...🔥🔥and VTEC engines were indeed good... And oh my god their sound... But changing it to iVtec it feels different... And don't even start about the ride quality in a German vehicle.... Reliability in the sense refers to engine and service of Japanese vehicles.... But in safety there's no brand that has more perfectly engineered chassis... Like the welding on the roof without a beeding.... And reinforced steels on each doors wherever impact is possible.... The only problem i feel with a VW Skoda is it's ABS issue.... Other than that.... The best engine ever and the safest vehicle which is manufactured in a foreign country and still doesn't compromise it's quality in india too like korean companies.... As it is always said.... RIDE GERMAN 🔥

    City manual can do 0 to 100kmph in under 10seconds. Still not faster than slavia but slavia 1.5 is a different price bracket all together.

    Not sure if vw 1.5l is a good comparison. There’s a price difference of 4l with the city. the 1l vw is worthless btw.

      The 1 litre turbo with the torque converter is surprisingly energetic in real world driving. Do take a test drive. ( I am planning to buy the 1.0 AT myself ).

      @SARANG thanks brother. Not booked yet but decision has been made. Just a matter of time (and finances). Currently have a polo tsi manual. Just love this 1 litre turbo motor! Punches way above its weight.

      @SARANG it's the same engine. Difference in feel is due to newer MQB IN platform being used in the virtus/slavia. Coupled with the fact that they are dimensionality much bigger than the previous VAG cars in the same segment. Also the raised stance and increased emphasis on a pliant ride has made the suspension a bit softer. All these things add up and change the feel. Underneath, the motor is the same.
      Obviously the 1.5 will feel much better than the 1.0 due to more torque, more horsepower. So these two factors add up to make the 1.0 tsi in virtus/slavia look not as good, not as good as it was in the polo/rapid, not as good as the 1.5.
      It's like you got 92 marks out of hundred, your friend got 94 and sharma ji's son got 98. In their comparison you may feel lacking, but if you look independently, 92 is a damn good score!
      So in isolation, it's a surprisingly potent motor, able to touch 190kmph in stock form,and cross 200kmph with a slight retune. 0-100 in around 10seconds.
      Another thing, torque converters have a torque multiplication effect, so it feels much more eager just off the line, and faster than 1.5 in the 0-80kmph range, where most of the driving will occur.
      That's why I say, do test drive the 1 litre 6AT combo, it will surprise you.

      It is 6 seconds quicker to 160kmph than the dsg equipped 1.2 tsi polo.
      2018 international engine of the year for a reason.
      Pulls like a maniac till the redline.
      I test drove the slavia 6AT. From what I have heard, the virtus has a tighter suspension tune than the slavia. Infact I was fixated on the slavia, but the looks of the virtus have grown over me, it looks like the erstwhile jetta.

      @SARANG the 1.5tsi manual cars hit a topspeed of 242kmph at the autobahn. 1.0tsi manual polo touches 215 at the same roads.
