Brukan was already cut from the wide majority of Shudderwock decks before Reno got released. 8 mana was too slow and the Battlecry not too great for the cost. The HP was the main reason to play the card, because it was a lot of pressure in long games, but games just don't last that long anymore.

I am in the firm belief, especially recently, but with scabbs here for example, blizzard purposely makes some cards broken as hell with plans to nerf in order to drum up hype for the expansions
My absolute favourite is Kurtrus as he was a key part of my favourite deck ever proving grounds demon hunter in the post miniset meta of march of the lich king
Varden is one of my favorite mercenaries. One thing I love about them is they are a great litmus test for people to avoid. If they get weird about Varden, they probably have even worse opinions beneath the surface. Also they were voiced by Kayleigh McKee, who voices Testament in Guilty Gear
Sometimes i wonder if blizzard was awesome or questionable for making all 3 vardens at least “annoyingly powerful” lol. But then again that’s also just mage for ya
Was anyone else kind of disappointed in these hero cards? They felt like necessary legendaries for most decks, but they honestly didn't feel that great to play. And immovable object was lame af.
I like the mage mercenary a lot. The "infinite" potential growth was cool. I like hitting the button to deal an "even larger and larger" amount of damage.
Scabbs being 7 while Bru'kan and Xyrella being both 8 is absolute nonsense lol. I don't like to think the devs are biased but you can kinda feel the bias with these cards.
The hero card I got on release day of the hero cards was Varden! I think they are a great card in mage , especially in the hero power archetype, which is also one of my favorites in the whole class. Love them!
Remove the draw one from guff druid should not get infinite mana so easily , make cariel 7 again especially because in wild most people run weapon removal for kb rogue, make scabbs cost nine mana, it simply does too much for the cost, make brukan cost like six or give like 8 armor idk i want the card to be playable
I play Shudderblock + Brukan into wild from time to time, and I always thought the 18 damages face was a bug. Isn't Shudderblock supposed to prevent hero damage ?
i wish there were tempo decks for each class that were topped off by a couple of these guys (xyrella, varden, kurtrus, brukan my beloved) but reno lone fucking ranger kills the viability of the coolest hero cards ever printed :(
I received 10 held for review comments that either called me slurs or told me to kill myself because of a comment just mentioning varden is NB that maybe was 5 seconds long at the longest. It was broken with odyn, just cuz the 10 armor it gives plus it’s weapon is a lot of burst. Alone it’s ok, nothing crazy
