Today is our first time in our 23rd country, Malaysia!
We're so excited to be here in Kuala Lumpur and in this video we visit the iconic Batu Caves, have some anniversary brunch at one of KL's finest cafes and eat some street food in Chinatown!
We hope you enjoy the video, we love Malaysia!

In this series, we'll be travelling SOUTH EAST ASIA for the very first time!
We've been to 20 countries so far, all in Europe! So we're super excited to spend the next three weeks sampling a part of the world reknowned by travellers and backpackers for its culture, it's people and of course.. it's food!
We've had so much fun in SE Asia, we hope you enjoy the video & series :)
Thank you to..

Well done with your first paid promo video. The ad didn't seem awkward or forced, I'd love a backpack like that! And thanks for the wee warning that an ad is about to play, good idea!😂
Thank you :)
Welcome to Malaysia 🙏
KLCC Petronas Twin Towers - day & night is a must see… Nasi lemak, Ramly Burger, Satay must eat in KL. Go explore Cameron Highlands for at least 2D1N stay and you will like it. There are many beautiful islands in Malaysia too. Enjoy your stay here.
Thank you for your recommendations! We’d love to explore more of Malaysia in the future, any other recommendations?
@@MattLaurie depends on what you like to see & explore… nature islands excursion? cultural heritage? or Mountains hiking Mt KK in Sabah…
@@-mrt9598 we would love to experience as much culture and natural beauty as possible 😍
If you happen to be in penang head on to permatang pauh on the 6th for a Hari Raya Open House (Rumah Terbuka Malaysia Madani) from 8pm to 11pm
and on the 14th it will be here in KL at Taman seri gombak
Sorry the one in Penang is not in the evening but from 11am till 2pm
you must try the Ramly Burger. By the way, Happy Anniversary
Thank you! Next time we’re here we definitely will!
If u like scubaying..try it in Sabah..east mlysia. World class underwater beauty..and our teopucal rain forest is one of the oldest in the world but more dense compared to the amazon

Welcome to Malaysia 🎉
Thank you!
@@MattLaurie Happy Exploring and travel safe ❤️
Most of us do speak some level of decent English. Ask the people around you what is going on, what you're about to eat and how you should eat it. You're throwing darts in the dark and not hitting anything.
The clay pot chicken rice, should have been mixed in with the ladle that was given and then dished out into the plate that was also there next to Laurie.
Lok lok had 3 different sauces- chilli, sweet black sauce and a lightly spicy peanut sauce. It's up to you what you might prefer. I tend to mix both the peanut and sweet sauce. As for the sticks of food; there are fish, chicken, pork and plain tofu cakes and balls plus some squids, shells and quails egg. If the seller can't translate, ask a customer. Most Malaysians are more than willing to assist.
Finally, that last one... idk what exactly that is but it most certainly is not a typical Malaysian food. Nowhere close.
Good luck trying to navigate a country you've never been to with little to no information. It's definitely not like your country, so expect very different things.
Thanks for your advice :)
Selamat datang ke Malaysia...
Thank you 🥰🇲🇾❤️
Discovering is the Big Adventure. Thanks for sharing it 💛
Thank you!
Happy to see you back!😃 Great mix of sightseeing and food.😁 We need to return to Malaysia to see the Batu caves! Beautiful! Although the monkeys scare me (Anna) a little haha. Cheers, Dravis and Anna

Welcome to 🇲🇾.Hope u guys have a good time.
That’s so kind, thank you :)
now you both already here lets explore what do we have here and most the main cuisine also all food around Malaysia is good and yummy
Thanks :)
When in Malaysia, the correct way to enjoy your food that comes with lots of condiments, you're supposed to mix everything up thoroughly before serving. Same goes for the claypot chicken rice!😂👌
Good to know 😂 thanks :)
Whenever food is served in Malaysia please mix it up. Then all the ingredients will blend with the rice.
Thank you for the tip! 😍
Take care guys & Welcome to Malaysia
That’s so kind, thank you :)
Hey guys maybe you should try our street Ramly burger.
Thank you for the recommendation! 😍
I'm the 1k subscribers ❤🎉🎉🎉😂🇲🇾
Thank you so much 😍❤️❤️
when u see a big spoon, means u have to stir up the pot and mix it up.
Thank you for the advice 😄

Great video, I’m really hoping we can get out to Asia for some backpacking at the end of this year 🤞🏼✨
Not taking your van?! Aha! Hopefully cross paths with you in the near future!
@@MattLaurie Now that would be a journey! Possibly to the Asia side of Turkey next spring! If that counts 😉
Sorry for being personal, but does your girlfriend/wife have Asian blood? She has the cutest pert nose! I subscribed and liked by the way 😁
Thank you for subscribing! 😍 She doesn’t no, not that she knows of but thank you 😁
8:54, you're supposed to give it a good mix first.
