Heard this song via UA-cam 6-7 years ago! Absolutely blow me away.. found it again today can barely contain the emotion sure a beautiful version, the guy has an incredible voice
This is a long story cut short. I had loved A Capella since I was 16, but had no way of getting any more on my iPod. Anyhow, I went on a family cruise when I was 18, and there was a 4 piece A Capella group called the Boomers. I got talking to one of them, Joey Akl, and he gave me some groups to look up when I got home. As a gift though, he burned me two CDs of his old group's studio albums. They were the Hyannis Sound. When I got home, I played this, and cried. It is now my favourite ever song.
So glad to have found this. Can't believe that I was there at this video! For the longest time I wanted to experience this again...thank you for uploading this!
Oh my god...my favorite song, and I've got tears running down my face because you guys did such a beautiful job with it. Bless you all and never stop singing.
Excellent performance gentlemen. It was so good in fact that I started to clap at the end, thinking I was there watching it live! (I have GOOD speakers).
My father love Peter Gabriel. He died this weekend. I feel like the character in this song. Mind numb, part of the scenery, unable to believe the information that he's really gone, and my heart pounding.
This is by far the greatest rendition of Solsbury Hill I've ever heard - and surprisingly you've restored my faith in A Capella songs because most songs i hear a garbage - this is a wonderful AMAZING piece!!!!!
My heart went "Boom! Bo0m! Bo0oM!" when I heard this!!! Awesome! AWESOME! Incredible! Fantastic! My sincere congratulations for them wherever they are! :))
This song has been returning to my consciousness for the entire week - it's now a part of me. Cool arrangement, nice bell parts, great intensity by the percussionist at that final crash, and a wonderful solo. Micah, ditch this gig, I hear American Idol tryouts are any day now.
Oh wow, how awesome. The soloist has a future for sure. I can't see the picture very well. Who is the lead singer? PLEASE go on American Idol so we can hear more from you!!!
Ditto. By the way, you're unique if you experience goosebumps when hearing music. www.indy100.com/article/music-goosebumps-some-people-science-research-emotions-psychology-study-harvard-7926781?
I never said it was religious. I have never heard about his baby, but I'll take your word for it. He often said that it was about seeing Springsteen in concert and giving him the courage to leave Genesis and going solo. The Eagle in "eagle flew out in the night" is Bruce.
its about Peter choosing to leave Genesis after his baby was born very sick, the "son, i've come to take you home" is about when he ran away as a child and his father found him and said that. Gabriel has told this story in many, many interviews and it's in his biography. It's not a religious reference.
Hey SpartanDrumhead, Just to let you know. The song is about a place in England..the UK..herd of it? Not New England as you think. And that is how it's spelled.
I believe that, since it gave him the confidence to go out on his own, he liked the concert. "I had no choice" feels to me like "it was so good, I had to listen". It's only my opinion, though, but it seems logical.
love gabriel , this is a really good version and a powerful voice well done try and put a bit more heartand soul in to it and you will be more truly amazing thanks
Come back to this every few years.

Beautiful you should make a music video for the guys away in Iraq.
Micah sounds AMAZING. Shirt, Tie, Khaki is my favorite HS album...well done!
I love it.
Among the best acapella-remade pop songs I've ever heard.
So epic. Even Peter probably didn't know the profoundness of this when he produced it.
I pray they r still singing
immer wieder amazing!
Great modification of a classic rock song!

You have talent, and and amazing voice, there is no denying that. But I think I like the original to much to like this version.
Really good job!

SUBLIME!!!
I dig it.
Fucking amazing guy!
I even prefer this to the original.
My man has some pipes holy shit
I've heard that, too. Apparently he hated the concert: "I had to listen, I had no choice."
its about Peter choosing to leave Genesis after his baby was born very sick, the "son, i've come to take you home" is about when he ran away as a child and his father found him and said that. Who are these guys ???
In the mean time we put up with utter garbage on idol, it is a sin I say.
Rock on and God bless guys, you rock.
♥
Hey SpartanDrumhead,
Just to let you know. The song is about a place in England..the UK..herd of it?
Not New England as you think. And that is how it's spelled.
should be called "SOULsbury Hill" when these guys do it.
Where can I get this arrangement?
Where are they now?
completement dingue...
I believe that, since it gave him the confidence to go out on his own, he liked the concert.
"I had no choice" feels to me like "it was so good, I had to listen".
It's only my opinion, though, but it seems logical.
Please what is the name of the lead vocalist ?
Peter would be proud!!! check out ps22 choir!!!!
love gabriel , this is a really good version and a powerful voice well done try and put a bit more heartand soul in to it and you will be more truly amazing thanks
Seems to me that BowedOak says that THIS particular song has no religious reference.
It doesn't mean that there is none anywhere.
