Now this little entry brings back happy memories. The initial one is a few happy meetings with Horace in 1959, he always had a blanket on the bench to prevent shiny trousers. On one occasion, a week before a BBC 10 am broadcast I enquired what would be in the programme and would he be doing his own announcements.
He said one tune would be 'Sez who, sez who?' - he meant 'Mais oui, mais oui', and that a cultured young lady would be performing the announcements with 'received pronunciation' whilst he listened on headphones. He said the BBC would chase him around the block with his St. Helens accent.
The other happy memory is the second tune 'Remember Me'- signature tune of Harold Coombs who lived near me and performed at a four manual Compton in a nearby theatre , which had Reig in the adjacent ballroom. In summer time he had a very full schedule entertaining holiday makers.

Thanks for commenting Ian. My Dad and I visited Horace in his room under the stage at the Empress after one of his delighful but poorly attended Sunday Concerts.
His "Long-Johns" were drying on the radiator. I guess he got pretty hot as most of us do on stage. A lovely man who was delighted to welcome Dad and me to join him for a chat.
Thank you again for commenting, Best Wishes, PAUL in exile in South Wales!
