Loved the video. I have a daughter in nursing school and sent her the link. I have been a nurse for 32 years. Great info. I would add scissors and Kelly clamps to the list of items to bring to clinical and beyond. I laughed about the pens. I still loose so many pens😄 but I guard my scissors with my life🤣

Thanks so much for being here and sharing our resources, Michele Leahy! I bet you are an amazing nurse and that your daughter will be as well! Thank you, too, for the suggestions. We will keep that in mind! Have a fantastic day! :)

I love this! I start my first semester January 13th and your videos have really been helping me be completely prepared. I found four scriptures that I will follow for this semester. And I have a great planner. I bought my books yesterday (ATI and Elvesier and the Davis drug guide) I already labeled my binders and spirals lol and I have my color gel pens for color coded notes. My husband blessed me with a Litmann Classic 3 and I love it. I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. I also subscribed to your blog. You give such wonderful and encouraging advice! Have a blessed day!

Just curious, have you signed up for the free bootcamp I'm hosting next week on how to study in nursing school? It will help you out a TON, I'm SUPER stoked for it! Here's the link if you'd like to join: nursingschoolofsuccess.com/bootcamp-register

NursingSOS yep, I signed up for the boot camp and I’m super excited about it! 😊Thank you so much for responding to my comment! Oh I do have a quick question: First I’m sorry I’m literally having this whole convo with you in the comment section lol. But, something I’ve noticed is the negative aurora nursing students I’ve met in my program have. I created an encouragement board for all the students hoping that would help but it feels like all I ever hear is “Nursing school is the worst. Don’t expect to pass. Don’t even try getting straight A’s. C’s get degrees” while I understand nursing school is hard and takes so much work and sacrifice, I certainly refuse to believe that I should strive to just pass instead of working towards an A. I was wondering, did you ever come up against this? Just multiple people speaking this over you? If so, do you have any advice. I’ve prayed against it as I don’t want to have that mindset (not to work hard and sort of settle). Please don’t get me wrong, if I study my tush off and still get a B or C on something, I will be proud of myself because I know what work I put into it. But it seems like a lot of people keep telling me it’s foolish to try and get As in nursing school. Sorry if this is a silly question, but I was just wondering your thoughts.

That definitely happens in nursing school (and life!) But honestly, I don't let it bother me. I'm super energetic, and some people don't like that. That's fine with me. :)

I love your channel ever since I started watching! I start nursing school in about 3weeks now, I’m so excited but sooo nervous! This might be a dumb question but I got my scrubs, the top has my nursing school logo embroidered on it, and I was wondering if you have any tips on how to take care of and store scrubs? I’ve seen a few things on google that say to wash them a specific way before first using it, but wanted to see if you have any thoughts on it. Thanks! :)

To be honest, I'm pretty rough on clothes, and I don't do anything fancy. :) With a toddler and a baby on the way, we're all about throwing everything in, regardless of colors or anything else! HAHA! The one thing I DID do in nursing school was to add "mrs stewarts bluing" sometimes since my scrub tops were white. But that's about as fancy as I get! :)
