- So my 2022 BRZ (Sylvie) hit the 30,000-mile mark. And since I'm planning to put on a JDL turbo kit, it's crucial to keep up with maintenance. Figured I'd share this DIY guide with you guys.
Enjoy!

Dude this is Chrisfix level of knowledge I needed
Much appreciated! Glad to help 🤘🏽
love the titan 7 wheels. been thinking about getting a set for my 86
@@illiterate-ei8dp I would highly recommend them! They are light and I really have enjoyed them since I’ve had them.
Thank you for the information, im saving up for a 2025 BRZ!
Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
You’re welcome! You’ll enjoy it when you get yours!
I'm approaching 30k on mine and was getting ready for it so this helps a lot! Did you end up ordering the gaskets from Subaru directly? Thanks in advance!
Glad I could help! Yes, I ordered them at my local Subaru store.
Ready for the season 🚗💥💨🔥
💯
Is there a preferred coolant to use? Might be a dumb question
I wouldn’t say it’s a dumb question. I’d use Subaru coolant. OEM tends to last longer.
@@Catalyst4k thank you for the fast reply 👍
No problem, thanks for watching!
what's the order of operations for flushing the clutch fluid? I think you say to open the bleeder valve then push in the clutch? And I guess while it's pushed in you close the valve then pull up the clutch pedal? and repeat?
You’re exactly right.
Are you sure thants how you check the oil dipstick? One side is always gonna be high and the other side is the low where you read the oil level. Thats what it says on the manual
Yep. You are right, the video missed that.
Also for the love of god use a funnel for the brake fluid you don’t want to spill that everywhere. I cringed when he was filling up the clutch reservoir.
Either way, pretty decent video touched base on everything needed.
You are completely right. I like to overfill mine slightly. I’d recommend following the manufacturer’s guide.
Appreciate it, I need a good funnel for that one. Glad to help!
Is 30k the recommended mileage for the diff and trans fluid? Mine is almost there
Yes, maintenance is key!
Is there a reason you started with the drivers front caliper first?
I started front the driver front first to get most of the fluid from the reservoir. Then I did the farthest ones from the master cylinder in order and finished with doing the driver front caliper.
@@Catalyst4k Gotcha. It really threw me off starting with the last one.
what happened that made you swap the pcv valve out? is that a part of routine maintenance?
Yes, it's recommended to replace them as they can get gummed up with oil over time. Just a little preventative maintenance.
Do you empty the oil catch can on the driver's side? Is the fluid as much as the other side?
I did, it’s not much that gets caught in there. Really just the slightest bit.
@@Catalyst4k thx bro
You’re welcome!
Is 5w20 okay?
I'd go with 0w20 personally but I have seen people use 5w20 without any issue.
I think we need a spark plug replacement tutorial
100% when I hit the mileage, I'll make a video.
How do you change the exhaust filter?
sawzaw to the cat and send it to be rebuilt. I don't no why you would have cat problems already You're probably drinking way too much oil. get a warranty check
👍👍
did bro upbadge and put on a ts emblem?
I explain the meaning to the badge in my very first video. I did it before a “TS” was ever released.
FURST‼️
Where's the link to the catch can?
Here you go, thanks for pointing that out: www.radiumauto.com/Catch-Can-Kits-2022-BRZGR86-P2628.aspx
