It's very telling that our institutions hardly ever, if at all, mention the atrocities under these regimes. The schools do not teach it at all, it's incredibly rare to see it in media and the government never references it.

Our govt is attempting to do the same to us by removing farmers. There's a reason they don't want us to know history. The British govt did the same to the Irish during the potato famine, they took all the food and exported it, leaving the Irish to starve. Same to the Scots during the Clearances.

They would never allow their precious ideological dream to be associated with all the nightmares it inflicts upon civilization.
If that happened, people would reject it and it would fall into the dustbin of history, and that is something they can never allow to happen.

That's because many many people in academia, government and polite society were sympathetic to Communism and actively supressed the atrocities. Only now do you get lessons about it because Russia is the bad guy again, so it's used for that purpose when in fact many of the rulers of the USSR weren't even ethnic Russians.

I'm 38, I was not taught explicitly about Communist regimes until I went to college. Nonetheless my peers and I picked up much from the culture at the time - we all knew about Mao and about the U.S.S.R.
Reading Russian literature was were the rubber met the road - not just numbers of dead but the story of how the light drained from their eyes.

So true. Starmer certainly holds the white working class majority in utter contempt and blatantly so. He's already twistedly labelled everyone who might protest about the mass open influx of illegal migrants into the UK as 'far right' thugs' . He's also released thousands of criminals and instead locked up many generally law abiding citizens for daring surmise that the Southport stabbings had been committed by an Islamic terrorist, (which was really just obvious pattern recognition.)
Not a single person locked up for spreading such supposed 'misinformation' has yet had their sentence over-turned. However, it's now open knowledge that that the Southport killer attends the mosque in Bel Marsh prison and that , prior to his rampage, he had downloaded Al Qaeda terror instruction documents . All those convicted for predicting that the Southport killer would turn out to be an Islamist therefore ought to be justly exonerated.? But not so under 'two tier' Keir.
PS I predict that 'non=crime' hate investigations will also proliferate under Starmer. (I just hope I don't get a police visit - or worst - for posting this.

The fact that the UK was allied with the Soviet Union during WWII has nothing to do with it. Here in Sweden, we were not allied with the Soviet Union, but still the evil of communism is completely unknown to the majority of people. And it is completely socially accepted to be a communist.

    • @tonynoonan3723
      @tonynoonan3723 11 годин тому +5

The City and Wall St funded Stalin knowing that atrocities were being committed.
They funded technology transfers to the Soviets and helped build massive armament factories in the Urals.
They sucked the Germans in to Moscow and Stalingrad and then unleashed.
The Germans were Nationalistic,Family orientated and religious, rather like the UK.
That could not be tolerated and it had to be obliterated to make way for the EU/Marxist structure we now have. ( Brexit was never going to be allowed ).
We are in big,big trouble, history has been deliberately hidden and changed as the brave new world unfolds.
Starmer gives a tame insight to the future.
Also, the kind hearted allies killed 1.7 million Germans in Conc camps from the 1945-1947.
Most of these were civilians who died from disease and starvation as huge quantities of food were in ships in the European and British ports.
Evil unbounded, the instigators are still about weaving their total power with abandon.

In the early 80s I was left a leaning socialist, in fact we'll on my way to being a communist. Then my Aussie uncle visited us in the uk and brought his new wife with him. She was a sweet quietly spoken Cambodian women. I asked her about how she ended up in Australia. Over the next half an hour sitting at my mother's kitchen table this quietly spoken middle aged woman opened my eyes.
My Step Aunt is the only surviving member of her extended family. She lost them all in the Cambodian killing Fields.
Their crime was essentially to wear glasses.
He was a university professor and she was a primary school teacher. They were split up and she later found out he was hacked to death where he stood outside their home as soon as she turned the corner and was bundled with their children into the back of a lorry.
He wasn't even worthy of a bullet.
She and their four children, were eventually force marched into the countryside where over the next year they were all, apart from her, worked and starved to death. She barely survived and has had ongoing severe physical and mental health problems all of her life as a result.
She lost 15 members of her family and her story is far from unusual amongst the 2,000,000 that they murdered for this ideology.
But no, that wasn't real communism.....

He wrote Soviet Genocide in Ukraine which includes the Holodomor (death by starvation of the Ukrainian peasantry), the extermination of the Ukrainian intelligentsia, destruction and mass murder of the Ukrainian church/clergy & mass deportations of Ukrainians to Siberia. The Holodomor Genocide and Great Terror purges of the 1930s & 40s have been covered up in the UK by the press, main stream media and successive governments for decades. Millions of Ukrainians murdered by soviet communists. Estimates go up to ten million and beyond. Not taught in British schools, not commemorated alongside other genocides on Holocaust Memorial Day and not officially recognised by the British government despite the House of Commons voting to do so in May 2023. I learned about near all of this in school in Ireland in the late 1980s. We were also as Catholics asked by our priest to pray for the peoples living under communist regimes.
My father said, when we asked him to explain communism in one sentence, that under communism everyone is expected to be a replica of everyone else, not allowed a personality and all have to have the same thoughts. He called it 'death by sameness'.
I remember many stories the teachers told us, here is one such story a teacher read from a book:
Stalin and one of his political comrades were been driven through a town in a carriage. On seeing the streets filled with starving and emaciated people from the window of the carriage, Stalin's comrade said 'look at those starving people, we need to do something for them', Stalin replied 'close the curtain'.
Besides what Stalin said, another remarkable thing about this story is that Stalin's communist party comrade did not see what was happening until he was, as it were, sharing a cosy freindly space chatting away to the devil himself.

I worked with people who believed that Communism was a good idea which had, inexplicably, gone a bit wrong. Their discussions were arcane , and never persuaded me. I decided to find out about the subject, but didn't trust the various detailed histories available. I chose to read the autobiography of Nabokov (inventor of the term "Communazi") and also the two volumes of memoirs of Nadezhda Mandelstam. I'd recommend these to anyone interested in the period under Stalin.

Communism says 'from those according to their abilities and to those according to their needs'. But the problem with this is that human needs are continually changing giving changing circumstances. The more we have the more we need. This creates a situation where those who produce are trying to keep up with the needs of those who are less productive. The fact is the human needs always outpace the human ability to satisfy those needs. The result is suffering. The way capitalism solves this is by giving the strong and smart productive people the ability to reap the rewards of their efforts, which efforts attempt to satisfy the needs of the less productive.
