If 'x' and A are two events associated with the same sample space of a random experiment, the Conditional probability of a event is 'x' is given than A has occurred. is given by P(x|A)= P(A and B)/ P(A) At the name of conditional probability you're telling the classical definition of probability
In normal probability in example no 1... P(A) = 1/2....it's based on box or item like red ,white etc...P(A) should be equal to (red) / (red+white)...????
I have a doubt in the 2nd question. Why is P(A), P(B) and P(C) taken to be 0.6, 0.3 and 0.1 instead of all being 1/3? because what I understood was that 0.6 is the probability of the item being from box A and not the probability that the box is A out of A, B, and C.... and the defective items are from the produced items so shouldn't the conditional probability of the defective item being from box A should be P(D|A) = 0.02/0.6 = 0.03 and the same goes for P(D|B) and P(D|C)? I am a bit confused.... I know it has been 3 years since the upload but I would be really grateful if you saw this comment
Last math has a miscalculation where u multiplied 0.04*0.6 in the denominator where the defective percentage was 2% for A machine. The final ans of 2nd math will be 4/25
Assignment Problem No.1 Let’s consider you are attempting a Quiz having 20 multiple choice questions (MCQs). Each MCQ have five (05) options (only one them is correct). Each MCQ carry one (01) marks and there is no negative marking. In order to pass the Quiz, you need to obtain at least seven(07) marks. Scenario 1: You don’t have any previous knowledge/preparation for this quiz and just randomly guessing the correct option then… Q 1: What is the probability of getting exactly 10 marks if you are randomly attempting the Quiz? Q 2: What is the probability of getting FAILED if you are randomly attempting the Quiz? Scenario 2: You have previous knowledge/preparation for this quiz and you can guess the correct option with probability of 0.7 then… Q 1: What is the probability of getting exactly 15 marks? Q 2: What is the probability of getting FAILED? Assignment Problem No.2 Let’s consider there are 50 students in class and the teacher have asked each student to select a secret number between 1 and 1000 (inclusive). What is the probability that at-least two student will choose a same number?
@Ashish Rana bro we have 7balls in box u pick only one ball and u dont know what is the colour of then u pick one ball so in the box have two colours of balls then we write 1/2.
@Ashish Rana @TELUGU BOY ✔ P(A) and P(B) are probability of selecting the boxes. We can choose any box. So both the boxes, A and B are equally probable. Hence, P(A) = P(B) = 1/2
