Great video!, i put the 17 tooth pinion on mine with a fan, an AGFRC 55kg servo and the shocks from the xb6 and its really fast now and bulletproof. The syncro is one of my most fun cars to drive now👍🏼👍🏼
Dude I really do learn a lot from watching your stuff. And I love that you have the baby lab carbon X1C so you can print stuff I didn't know there was that much stuff you could print that I'd be going and using my carbon X1C tomorrow to see what I can find a print considering it's one of the morning now I'll probably wait till tomorrow for sure lol.
Agree, looks like the speed fix is simply a 17t pinion. Easy fix. Disappointed to hear you say the chassis is slightly bent already. Wonder if plastic would not have been a better bet for a 4s basher buggy
I wouldn't be disappointed about the chassis being bent a little bit. I took multiple hits from at least 15 ft in the air straight onto the nose. That's a pretty brutal amount of force and there are few chassis that wouldn't bend with something like that.
It’s amazing and easily better than the competition at the same price, but the undergearing is going to turn a lot of people away when even an Arrma 3s would probably run a faster pass out of the box in whatever yt videos they see.
Yeah I find the under gearing a little confusing. At least in my limited experience 15 teeth is no problem whatsoever and I am almost positive 17 will also be no problem whatsoever. Seems like a strange artificial self kneecapping and I really don't know why they did it.
Yeah probably, especially considering the smack talk you had in your first thumb nail about this car, you know, Arrma being Obsolete and all that? What's the stock pinion in the Typhon 3s caple of propelling the car at again???
The 3s Typhon out of the box does around 40 off-road so not really much different than this with a +2 pinion. This car beats the Typhon on center diff, steel diffs, steel axles shafts, slightly better electronics etc. It's got a lot going to for it
@@DoRC I agree, it most certainly does. It's a top car for the money. However, with the money you would have to spend on the upgrades for it (to get it going as fast as you did) you probably wouldn't be far off a Typhon 6s. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong. While you're in the comments, I have a question for you: Can you use the limitless rolling chassis for only street bashing? No speed runs, would anything need changing?
@@kylarstern7627 for sure. Like I said at the end of the video you're better off just getting a 6s rig. The sweet spot for the syncro will be keeping it stock and just upgrading the pinion. The limitless can definitely be used for street bashing but it's not ideal. It's pretty low and has large front and rear overhangs so unless you're on a lretty smooth surface you'll likely end up dragging bodywork.
Perfect video! I was really interested to see how it performs with bigger pinion. I believe team corally makes these things undergeared for you to be less likely to break it. (I'll still be interested to see what this buggy does on 17t pinion :D )
You would have seen 17 teeth in this video but incredibly I don't have a single 17 tooth mod 1 pinion anywhere. Spent about an hour looking cuz I couldn't believe it myself given that I have like 50 pinions in a bag
@@DoRC lol, thats funny😁 by the way I saw Kevin Talbot's video about team corally sketer, there he put an 18t pinion, and as far as I understood the motor was fine even like this
@@Maxinator_RC Yeah the overall gearing as well as tire size and vehicle weight will affect how it handles different pinions but if you could with the motor mount this thing probably would be okay with 18 as long as you use a fan
I think companies under gear and also leave the diffs light on purpose. Think about people who have no experience can do silly things than blame the RC , those same people who wouldn’t notice a difference between tuned or not so it’s to much of an intricately liability. I think . Rc inherently break , so they sell them off reliably as possible. What do you think Do
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I agree with this though at least in this case I think it's under geared more than usual. Normally when you go up a few teeth on a car you're probably going to run into heat issues without additional cooling etc. This thing at least in my fairly limited experience is still ice cold after speed runs with plus two teeth. It could still be to prevent damage but I almost wonder if it's being done more to differentiate the 4S vehicles from the 6s vehicles.

That's too much work to change a pinion but I think the kagama motor mount will be a tad bit wide the sketer motor would be a perfect fit for the syncro4
I think the Skeeter and Kagama use the same motor mount. I could be wrong though. I checked the mounting holes and they are identical between the synchro and the Kagama.
@django2467 ah ok. I had never actually seen that. It looks like the spark uses the same mount as the Kagama so I suspect the synchro could also use the same mount.
It's not. I checked everything with the program card and it's all as expected. Top speed isn't really affected by anything in the programming on these ESCs anyway. I suspect even with that up size it's still under geared.
I do like your upgrade videos. I like to try different setups that’s my biggest complaint time it takes and finding a way to mount ESCs . 3d printing is the way to go but I’m intimidated by that kind of stuff tbh . I was reading your comments to someone who wanted to scan . Parts . I’m thinking even though I’m not smart enough to create my own parts , enough of you guys download or I can buy the files . 3D printing can be challenging but I still recommend it. Modern 3D printers from companies like Bambu lab are so much easier than printers were just a few years ago. For the most part they are just plug and play which makes things a lot easier and there are a ton of models you can download off websites like thingiverse that you don't have to do anything to just download put them in the slicer, slice with default settings and print. It's fun.
Guys I need help! Just got the SYNCRO-4 and 2 packs in & it's destroyed centre diff bearings on both sides? New bearings and topped up diff with 20k diff fluid and it's getting very very hot....hotter than the motor? I'm running stock 13 tooth pinion.
20K is too thin. What's happening is the center differential is spinning internally really fast because all the power is going to the front wheels. I'd recommend 100K minimum but I like to run 1 million
I agree. Fortunately it looks like the amount is basically the same as the spark Mount so you should be able to upgrade it fairly easily down the road if you want to. I believe that's true for most of the parts that were downgraded for the cheaper price.
Hmm That's a tough one. They are both very good vehicles. I think it just depends on whether you want a slightly larger vehicle or a slightly smaller one. I don't think you'd be disappointed in either one. Personally I'd probably pick the spark just because if I want to drive a buggy it's usually in situations where I want a smaller vehicle.
Question if you still have both, I like the looks of this more than the Spark, but if I already have a spark, do the chassis side guards and body swap over?
I don't still have the spark but I have compared the chassis in pictures and they do look the same. I suspect the side guards are the same and I don't really see any reason why the bodies wouldn't be compatible.
Went to 20 tooth pinion and some tires from my 6s mojave. Definitely woke it up. But motor was pretty toast after 7000mah pack. Good fan might make it my permanent setup. Also did. 16 tooth pinion with a set of 4s trenchers. Makes it a different vehicle and ok temp wise. Don't think I'm going to attempt 20 tooth and trenchers. Maybe 18. Moral of the story Definitely undergeared. Can probably do 18 with stock everything and not overheat
Yeah I think 4S with a bigger pinion is the way to go. Why it's so incredibly under geared out of the box is really a head scratcher. After back-to-back-to-back speed runs with 15 teeth The motor was still ice cold
Yeah it can definitely help with a lot of different vehicles though some of them will tend to have overheating problems with anything but the stock gearing. I don't think this is one of them though. It feels pretty heavily under geared out of the box.
