I visited Morris in 2006 while on vacation from the uk to visit a friend who lived on Lincoln lake, i enjoyed my 2 weeks there. While visiting there they had something called cruise night and 100s of amazing cars were in the streets
When I was around 14 or 15 I had a lot of problems at home in London Ontario Canada. I ran way many times. This one time I had got picked up hitch hiking in Chicago. The man said he was going to San Francisco so I settled in for the long ride. A bit later he pulled off the hi way saying he was hungry. We pulled up to McDonalds in Morris and while I was inside, he left. I didn't know what to do. Night was approaching and I had very little money. So I walked around for a while thinking about my options. Finally I went inside the KFC across from McDonalds and asked the employee there to please call the police. I explained to the police who I was, where I was from, ( He thought I meant England when I said London ) and how and why I was in Morris. I'll be 59 years old next March and I will never forget my time in Morris. The policeman I spoke with took me to the station. All the policemen were very nice to me and it was decided I would go to the home of a counselor rather than Juvenile hall. They had no choice but to send me back to my hometown but before I left I was told about the many people there who, after hearing my story, fought hard to keep me there. I was there for about a week and I met so many nice folks there. I was allowed to walk around town and I met several people my own age and we had so much fun. For the first time in my life I felt safe and cared about. I've been back a couple times since then but not for about 50 years now. As I had said already, I will never forget my time there. It was the people who were so very kind and caring, the beauty of the area and I suppose maybe because of my age then but it truly is one of the best memories i have from those days. Thank you to the people of Morris for that period of time in my life when I needed care and compassion. I will never forget Morris !
Great video. No matter where I live, Morris and Grundy County are my home.
Thank you
Thank you for this! I have many family members from Morris!
One of the nicer downtowns in the area
Pleasant downtown. I generally dislike diagonal parking, but I suppose it makes sense.
I dont agree with it either, especially having to back out onto a busy street like in Geneva.
it works in morris since the traffic is light downtown with rt 47 running parallel with liberty st., the main downtown thoroughfare.
2020 population figures has Morris at 15,335.

Nice town and my kind of place. I’m not a city person. You should do Grant Park or Momence. Great video. I want to visit Morris. Thank you.
