Absolutely epic…thank you…we plan on going in the end of August, coming from New Jersey..…. Do you get to see the Rhinos at twilight for pics? do they all overlook the Savanah ? Much appreciated and great video….

Yes the rhinos are maybe 50 feet away from the tents. It was super fun and the kids loved it.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I've been a member of the Wild Animal Park ( aka Safari Park ) for roughly 50 years. I've never done this so it's nice to see someone else's experience on this safari. I used to volunteer for Lions Tigers and Bears in Alpine. We'd occasionally do sleepovers. It was weird to hear a lion about 30 feet away roaring at the end of an evening. You can hear them for up to 5 miles away so being too close is definitely an experience. I hope the lions didn't keep you guys up in the evening.

Great video. Was insect repellant needed at night? Thank you!

We didn’t have an issue. Mosquitos aren’t a huge issue in San Diego but it can’t hurt I suppose

Not much info on what actually sleeping there is like. Are the tents climate controlled? Can you hear all the kids freaking out all night or people actually snoring in the next tent?

    • @BernMcGovern

They have a heater and a fan. You’ll definitely hear someone snoring if you are next to them as my children can attest too. No kid freak outs that we witnessed. They are pretty exhausted by the end of the night which helped

We will be there in July and staying in a vista tent! We are not from the area so what sleeping bag do you recommend ? I was considering just a light fleece sleeping bag liner. Even the 50 degree light sleeping bags seem a little warm for this.

In July, a light fleece one will be fine. They also have q small space heater in the tent. We went in June and the weather was great. Escondido gets pretty hot in summer
