Installed one on my 72 Super...does the pastic cover snap on somewhere or is it just a loose fit? I have carpet on mine that might be getting in the way...
I have VW trike with linkage to the left side. Shifter issues, sometimes shifting as smooth as butter and some times can't find the gear. A real barnfind, set for 8 years. I think it is an adjusment issue. Ideas??
Few things 1. Are you try to shift into first while moving ? 2. The transmission might be low on oil 3. It might be a bad shift bushing in the tunnel 4. It might need a new shift bushing at the end of the shifter tube and transmission 5. Your shifter screws might be loose and the shifter is moving around. 6. The shifter bushing bracket is rusted and not staying the correct location.
Today I just installed the tall version in my 65 beetle. No problems at all. Already replaced shifter bushing and coupler. Smooth as butter 😎
Awesome
When installing do you need to use the spacer it comes with?
Depends on the year. Some need it to fit properly. I’m not sure which years need it.

Do I need to install the second plate that came with it?
I have installed them with and without that plate and didn’t notice any difference.
@@OFFAxisBuilds OK thanks
Is there a spacer plate under the shifter?
Yes but some years don’t require it
California!

+David Bell it kinda sounds like an adjustment but it could also be your shift bushing.
You didn’t show in install or anything
The install was in a later video after I shortened it 3”
