lots of knobs + metal panel + emotional pad = will buy 😋
dude stop it you posting this comment everywhere Roland goes
@@djkanyon Jexus is GOD, you're not even a mere mortal.
@@djkanyonI think everybody is free to have an own opinion and writing it wherever they want.
Sweet. Need some more videos!!!
Me too waiting for Thoman to order it among with the LXR2 from erica
I'm not a Roland fan but I maybe now I still love my Access virus ti2
Definitely an impressive synth, one to get under the hood and pull some great sounds from :) - I've got my eye on one at the moment.
lovely sound ad 8:10
A wonderful interface with a touch-pad...and with VST sound, lol. I wish my Korg Radias would LOOK like this though...
What so funny about the sound? Care to elaborate?
@@X22GJP
So you demand that I offer my time to write a long comment about this?
I had more than 30 synths during a long time, now I kept five, so I have a comparing ground. I don't have a Zen-core synth but I have a Korg Radias, for example, it sounds very rich, being a "VA" synth, it's just the sound engine and all the parts that make the difference...synths sound better with stacks of IC:s, for example, their tiny instability gives a more living sound, compared to a RENDERED sound that is extremely even. I also have an Yammy AN1X with tons of IC:s inside, it has a very analoguish fizzling sound, despite being a digital synth. It's not so easy to explain with words (a non English speaker here)...but they used to say: "It sounds very clean and sterile...", when you don't have rich subharmonics because of lack of hardware discrete IC:s...which would make the sound more alive. This is my problem with the Korg Modwave which I wanted to buy, they use a processor to render the sounds so it's like a VST thing...and indeed, they have a software version of it. The point is: Roland could easily make a VST version of the Gaia 2, and that is not a good sign, if they can create a sofware of it. I also have a Korg Minilogue XD, it has four separate analogue circuits for every voice...THAT is the difference. Not saying that a VST is bad, I use them, but don't put it into an expensive synth. I still like the Gaia 2 interface, they nailed it...but the sound is just too sterile, you can get something similar från ALL the other synths available...they could have put in an analogue filter, for exempel, it could have helped. It's just my humble opinion, I don't want to "fight" over it, lol, it has a nice interface so some people would like to have it this way.
@@X22GJP It sounds very well but (and the criticism is the same for all the hardware synths) there is a lot of free VST that can sound the same for...zero euro or dollar.
Add a good reverb to a pan and it will sound wonderfully.
nahh, the radias looks better than this imo :D

I just like the touch-pad.
Fun sounds and affordable welcome back Gaia! Nice demo and playing too!
$1299 Canadian is not affordable, I would wait a year or 2, but the sounds, and the tactile playability of the Gaia 2 make this an awesome get (cue up “Welcome Back Kotter” theme song)
@@sawtooth808 spoken as indisputable fact, opinion, or just against your own circumstance? Compare this to the likes of the UDO Super 6 which has a similar hands-on approach and super-saw capabilities, albeit using state-of-the-art FPGA oscillators with analogue signal path, and you'll find that in relative terms for a synth, this is extremely affordable.
For somebody out there looking for their first synth to cut their teeth on, yet can hold its own in a studio mix, this is indeed an awesome get. However, just saying "is not affordable" doesn't really offer anything of value (pun intended) to the reader.
Fun little synth.
No d-beam kinda what made the first one the ish
Diggin it 🥳
In my wish list for the synth of November ❤
Sounds great it still has a digital sound but in a good way. Can’t complain about the price either.
sawtooth808 can, they think it's not affordable.
The Modwave has similar features, and more, for less money. More refined sound as well. Argon8 and Hydrasynth lack the $2 mousepad, but otherwise have more features for less money as well.
Yes.
5:30 Love this preset!
Tbh all of the presets here are much better designed than those on the Gaia SH-01.
Nice demo.
I still think the SH-4D is a better all-rounder offering.
Sounds more on the higher end digital sound to me.
Nice
Does it have detuning and stacked Supersaws like my OG Gaia?
Yes it has a supersaw using 7 slightly detuned versions thereof.
Finally a Roland synth that doesn't sound like a typical Roland! About time!
In contrast to the bizarrely overpriced piece of electronic junk SH-01, it seems to be worth the money.
I'm excited to play it myself. 👍
lots of knobs + metal panel + emotional pad = will buy 😋
Lol:)
Too bad they didn't used the acb technology, and make it multitimbral
Sounding a bit fizzy and bright in all the videos. It's still interesting.
Maybe run it though an analog heat to beef it up.
You can forget about ACB, thanks to the numerous complaints about the low polyphony of System-8 and the ACB Boutiques.
Funny, the main advantage of ACB was that the sounds were noticeably more fizzy! I think a lot of VSTs struggle to replicate the high end fizziness of genuine analogue synths.
Does GAIA2 has smooth transition feature between the presets?
yes
Roland have this habit to release something nobody was asking for and put some wild price tag on it.
Is it multi timbral?
No, unfortunately not.
Sh-4d is
Also JX 8p has , i just receive yesterday and its a little beast.
I have the Sh4d about 1,5 and i can tell you its on my top 3, among the subsequent 37 and my sequential pro 3...
SH4D seems like a lot of fun, but then you check the manual for its operation and it seems really unintuitive. Pity the Gaia2 isn't multitimbral too!
This thing has nothing in common with the easy to patch SN Gaia synth. It had three identical layers of synths you could very intuitively patch. This thing here is lore like an upgraded Jupiter-Xm in silver. Am I right?
Gaia sounds like ass, this is a total upgrade. But the aging Juno-DS61 is also an upgrade.
I think you're right. Only thing I see, that looks familiar, is the design of the amp and filter section. I guess everytime the roland people say "hey lets sell an affordable synth in a smaller, lighter and and cheaper housing with technology we already have" they simply call it gaia. In case of first gaia it was a stripped down jupiter-50/80.
That Vactoral Strike patch in the middle is a copy off the Ultranova patch FM Stirke. The Gaia is supposed to be subtractive not wavetable. Show me a power sound people.
wavetable synth = subtractive synth

@@X22GJP hey ✌️!.... i do not understand what you mean.
serum, massive clone
Thank you for posting this video of playing through some of the sounds. It definitely saved me from wasting some money. Hard pass on this synth for me.
Good for modern techno but no emotion while hearing this machine, it's digital...
Plenty of emotion, just personal bias. You can always spend several times more on the UDO Super 6 - worth it too, but not for the reasons you state.
The emotion comes from the player/composer/sound designer, not the machine itself. This is what music in general is about. Plus this is a demo, what did you expect?
Sound is nice and clear. and loud too with barely any distortion. it’s hard to maintain analog sound without out clipping or distorting. But it’s warm and robust like how an analog synth should sound like. 🤷🏻♂️ but that’s all personal preference. Cus idgaf what you think. This keyboard is sick af!
Awful design, hopefully Roland will release a stage version as apposed to this studio tabletop version
Sounds pretty Damn meh to me.
