a word of warning for Persona Q, some of the games may not even be working because there was a fatal flaw in the game's first printing that just has the game not being able to boot at all. So while it's $40 now, you might be throwing your money away.
6:22 I feel called out lol But for real, it is actually really good (the best Yokai Watch game to date) and the game has two modes: The main campain with the traditional gameplay and a Mystery Dungeon-like game where your Yokai explore dungeons (and has more freedom and it isn't turn based like the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games) and the bosses requiring actual strategies to be defeated. You can get some Yokai that only appears in that mode, as well as some amazing items like the Forbiden Fruit (the equivalent of a Master Ball) and the Orbs that will upgrade your Yokai. There are a lot of other stuff about that mode that's worth talking about, but I think I will just stop as everyone should give it a chance as it's really good.
I know I'm 9 months late but if anyone here is still interested in Persona Q, be careful since the game cart has a flaw where some have bugs that can leave the cart useless. As of writing this, you've got the option of either piracy or buying physical since the eShop has shut down. That bug didn't affect every cart but there's no way to know until you try it.
I Genuinely wonder if the prices aren't lowering because of lot of youtubers saying the prices are rising , possibly being the cause of a speculative market as sellers expect a higher return . I wonder if youtubers, social media etc etc just stopped talking about it or even said that the price was falling, would there be a drop due to speculative sellers cashing out. I dont mean this as a complaint about youtubers or anything , I'm just pondering the implications of the media coverage 🙂
Yeah that's a good point. Nintendo in general is a hot topic. Channels are constantly talking about getting complete 3DS and Wii U sets. Also it's not like you can port some of the more unique games on the platform.

It's fun to see this as opposed to take for granted old stuff as a kid lol. I wonder if fragrant story will go up in price. Crazy expensive physical for $4 3ds digital and upcoming free dlc.
While still somewhat high(considering what a new Nintendo switch costs), it seems like the prices for 2DS and 3DS systems is starting to correct and taper off. I’m seeing more ‘New’ 3DS XLs online and on market place in the 200-250 range, I got really lucky and was able to score one in great condition earlier in the year locally for $150. Still more then what I like to spend, but I recognized the market and jumped on it. I wouldn’t pay anything over $250 at this point. You never know how things fluctuate, but hopefully the pandemic prices where I was literally seeing these go for 400-500 dollars are over. The games themselves still seem to be another story.
Have you looked into the price differences of UAE versions of 3ds games? If any? On Amazon I bought a lot of heavy hitters like snake eater brand new for $25, but they all have the UAE icon on the front.
I'm almost done with my PAL collection. This Barbie game (which I still don't have) is very, very common in Germany, but prices are inflated due to the situation in the US and UK. I will wait and only buy that for 10€ max.
I was collecting titles for the 3ds until early this year. The prices for the system is crazy. I have missed a few titles but glad I got nearly all the games I wanted before it was too expensive (for me)
The Barbie game is stupid rare. My guess is it found itself in a similar situation NBA Elite 11 found itself in, where it was shipped to stores, but before they could be sold, it was cancelled and all copies had to be shipped back, but some found there way onto store shelves
noticed one small error with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, i think you might have listed the near-release date for Dream Team Bros? also, i think Yo-Kai Watch 3 only managed to sell 4K physical copies (or shipped?) in the US, might be pretty rare as a late released game. think i heard that some games like Pokemon ORAS and Persona Q(2?) was slightly susceptible to cart read errors, but only because some might have been on a bad printing line, people might be able to re-flow the solder joints on those games.

Man am I glad I bought Yo-Kai Watch 3 when it was still available for MSRP. I remember it was a few months after release and I only just knew about the 3rd game, after enjoying the first 2 Yo-Kai watch games, but even just a few months on, the game was nowhere to be found on basically any major retailer's site. I ended up finding one on Lukie games back then.
I got Rhythm Thief for $40 loose in 2019, cart is in pristine condition, I think a lucky find. - but now I can't even afford the empty box and manual to make it complete, that's like over $200 even without the game.
People are sleeping on Chrono Trigger for the original DS. Its still technically part of the 3DS library and cartridges one are around 100 right now. Would not be surprised if it became the most expensive DS game over time
Haha, no. The game had a massive print run. First print with the map had around 200k print run alone, and then the reprint in 2012 (yes the game had a second print run and did not include the map insert) was another 200k copies. That one was on sale on square enix's website for $8 each as recently as 2016.

The 3DS retro market will probably be one of the most expensive ones going forward due Nintendo not putting them on NSO any time soon.
I just got Ocarina of Time a few weeks ago. Love those dollar yard sales. Sadly it was loose though.

That could be it. Sometimes it's difficult to nail the specific date especially for releases.

For some of the games there is the world version is that something you don’t take in consideration with the pricing?
