One of my favorite builds you have done. It is because of the family history that it makes it interesting. The dent only adds to the history and personality of the truck.

I have run into a problem. The front of the frame is completely rotted. Just found it the other day. It's really bad. Probably going to need a new frame.
I seem to remember you doing A LOT of rust repair on this truck. Maybe that's why you got burnt out on fixing rust? That truck looked real bad when you got it and you certainly did a great job on it, and it still looks good!
This truck was really bad. I didn't help my hate for rust that's for sure 😊
I’m in for the refresh. I think it’s a cool project and the family history makes it that much better. Best of all it’s a project that most could take on themselves, instead of living vicariously through someone else’s expensive rebuild. Keep the content coming 👍🏻
I have a lot more time than money in this project for sure. The tires are the most expensive thing on it. I have run into a problem though. The front of the frame is completely rotted. So bad I think it needs a new frame.

Tell me about the constant battle with winter rust…and I’m in the desert. That and chasing down a myriad of vacuum leaks has made my S10 run like the good ole days again.
I guess it's probably an older vehicle thing. I need a shiny new truck to work on 😁
@@mossman381 i just can’t get excited about the newer stuff. Anything past 2010 just doesn’t appeal as much.
@@rockymtnredneck4888 I love my brand new Ranger. Everything is tight. I did the break in correctly. Changed fluids and I know it hasn't been abused. And that new smell. That new smell is something you never forget. I am working towards a new truck. Probably a lower end one with less tech in it. They are getting crazy with the tech. One more thing about new. When there is a problem you take it to the dealer to get it fixed for free.

It's a constant battle with rust.
I hear even in places like california or Florida if you live close to the ocean then you still have to deal with rust because the salt is in the air . I’m sure it’s no where near as bad as the rust belt though
@@classicxl I think I have heard that too but not sure how true that is. Maybe if you are driving on the beach.
Living up here in Ontario Canada i’m trying to get my 2022 colorado to last until it’s atleast paid for in 7 years . i’m getting my truck krown undercoated every year and try to wash it when ever i can . especially underneath and i spray the bottom of the doors inside as well the rockers . Unfortunately new Gm vehicles dont last up here the paint peels right off the bodies for some reason
I have Fluid Film on the underbody of my 2009 2500. Probably should have done another coat this year. My grandpa didn't drive much in the winter but I don't think he washed his truck much. Neither did my brother in law when he got the truck and he drove every day in the winter. This truck was used and abused for sure. I don't think they are going to tell people what they are putting on the roads. It kills the trees on the highway.

I am not sure where Darth Dually is. I forgot where the guy said he even lived. I have changed phones, so I don't have his number either. I think that truck is gone forever unless someone would contact me after seeing my videos. I think I would like something newer though.
Do you know how much more the front rim sticks out then the back rim
@@dandan_49 I thought they looked pretty even. This 2wd looks like it's narrower than the 4wd trucks.
I’m wanting to do the lift spindles on the front of my 2000 Chevy blazer. Do you think if I just do that and don’t mess with the back it will look alright? I know the back sits higher now than the front but I want the front to sit higher than the back to clear the 31” tires?!
I think just lifting the front will look funny. Vehicles are not supposed to be higher in the front. When people first started to raise the front of trucks it was called Cali-lean. Now they have different names for it, but it still looks ridiculous, I think. I get leveling a truck. It really is your decision because it your truck. You can customize it the way you want.
@@mossman381 well I completely agree with that. It’s not my style either but my back is already sitting so much higher than the front so I thought it would balance out and maybe a inch or so higher in the front which is not bad at all, if we were talking inches than of course that’s not me. But I didn’t know if these were worth it or not and what all I would need that the kit does not tell me I needed lol
