2:20 "That one is bank 1 sensor 2" (points to bank 2 sensor 1). Well you just finished telling us that bank 1 is the front 3 cylinders and bank 2 is the rear 3 cylinders. So how could 'bank one / sensor anything' be on the REAR 3 cylinders? Great video. Assuming you were trying to keep answer to the question posed in the title a well kept secret. Tell us more about your garage door. At least we can mostly confirm that it is actually a garage door. To all the people commenting that Nathan and this video are so great now hear this: Bank 1 sensor 1 - Top sensor, front 3 cylinders Bank 2 sensor 1 - Top sensor, back 3 cylinders Bank 1 sensor 2 - Post cat sensor, front 3 cylinders (follow the header) Bank 2 sensor 2 - Post cat sensor, back 3 cylinders. That took less time than it took anyone to watch this video and get the wrong answer.
For those looking for the downstream locations (sensor 2 bank 1/2) Bank 1 is the pipe closest to the drivers side underneath and bank 2 is closest to the passenger side (if you are under the car the one closest to the driveshaft is bank 1).
To save you time, jump to 1:35. Remember this is a straight 6 and have 2 exhaust manifolds. Watch for 1 min. I was hoping Nathan would cover V6 V8 too. Passenger side always bank 1? Driver side bank 2?
I would like to also reiterate the fact that NON-OEM sensors will cause code P2629 "Sensor pumping current trim circuit/open bank2 sensor 1" What does that mean? It means the aftermarket "No-Name" O2 sensor has value definitions that are WAY too broad. Your DME has a very narrow set of values for the o2 sensors and these Ebay generic ones will just set off your check engine light every time. .
Bosch came out with a universal sensor that you need to rewire yourself, its supposed to work fine on BMWs. I'm getting some, will report back on whether they actually work or not.
Hello need help please: I have bmw 535i 2010. Got a code from one: oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2. Where would that be located? Any videos or reply would be helpful. Thank you and God bless ❤
What do you know about fuel trim I need to know why bank tid1 cid1 and tid1 cid 2 not at its range it might have like say for example 357 but I get but my reading is over the amount do you know anything about this and what causes it it's something to do with the O2 sensor in the front for bank one and bank two
Thanks for the info! Orliey's told me both sensors were bad, but from my research it seems unlikely that they both go out at the same time. I have been chasing this vacuum leak for months now the dreaded p0174 and p0171. I wish I lived close.
Hey you said there was a starter issue as well.....what was the problem and how did you Fix it? I have the same issues in my bmw e87, the o2 sensors are all over the place so need to replace both banks but I also have a starter issue....Some times it takes ages to start and stutters before engine turns over. Do you know what it could be? Could the bad o2 sensors cause this starter issue?
E90 code p2098. I was told it’s bank 2 sensor 1 is the suspect. I saw a vid somewhere saying both upper sensor are exactly the same just different in length. I replaced the b2s1 using b1s1 cuz it’s cheaper but it didn’t clear the code, grrrr
I’m getting a code on my Creator C310 that just says bank 2 before catalytic converter. I’m confused which one that is. Would that be the back one on the manifold?
Man, do you have a email for advice? I'm having a no start problem that I just can't fix. Cranks but no start. Changed pump fuse and relay. Still no fire. Changed crankshaft position sensor, no fire. Pump will turn on when "jumped" through the relay port. No pressure at rail when cranking, unless I have the pump jumped then the pressure goes to 51. Still no fire with the pump jumped and running. Didn't really show any symptoms before. Parked it, pulled fuses just to do a visual inspection. Replaced everything in correct ports. Added a fuse in the Dampering Control port because it had 2 metal slips(car doesn't have Dampering though). Hour later jumped in 2 run to the store and here we are, 8 test later....
I was gonna buy the blue driver Bluetooth OBD for Valentine's day. But my GF's birthday is in March, and I'm not sure what else to get her. I think I'll buy that scanner you just used instead since it does everything on everything and just make that her only present for both occasions. If I buy that thing, will I still need the round adapter deal for my 2000 740iL to read my airbag code, or will that thing be sufficient enough if plugged into the OBD 2 port? I'm not sure what all the round port does exactly on mine.
Hey I watch all your videos, I am banging my head on my 1999 740i I resealed my Vanos new chain and guides, now I get a 1519 and 1522..... went back and reset timing again still same codes. Any ideas...
hey I have a 99 528i and when I get on it it will act like it hits a rev limiter at 5000 rpm or so and I have a p0500 code for a wheel speed sensor and I think it is the abs module .. can the abs cause the car to limit the rpm. cuz it doesn't do it in tell the car worms up on cold days and the the abs light comes on and then the Trac lite comes on and then the cel light ????? plz help me and make a video on it plz...... been one of you subs from the beginning and just know having this issue
k well from what I found on line and a few people it is the abs module or the vehicle speed sensor on the tail shaft of the transmission... or it is the DCM is this true from your knowledge u seem to know more than the people I talk to

I agree with you
I still don't got that is the sensor same thing with oxygen sensor or is that a different one
Thank you
@@ahmedalkhaldi1104 ??? Say that again please
@@ahmedalkhaldi1104 yes it's same
If all come of them came on ( in fault codes ) would it be wise to check the fuse powering them all first.
“Today I’m gonna show you where the sensors are”
Points at engine.
lmao
😂😂😂

Woww! The longer I watch you working on that newer stuff, the more I love my obd1 e36, In my BMW world, I think it might just stay 1995 forever!
To save you time, jump to 1:35. Remember this is a straight 6 and have 2 exhaust manifolds. Watch for 1 min. I was hoping Nathan would cover V6 V8 too. Passenger side always bank 1? Driver side bank 2?
There is no V6

I've seen people clean them. Isn't that efficient enough? If not, why?
Great video. Thanks a bunch

Lol...I swore you were making this video down south somewhere with that heavy southern accent until I saw your new York plates!!!
Say Nathan have you ever gotten a p1093 and p1092 they are bmw code ec and eb if so what was the fix thanks
Great video! Thanks for making your BMW vids and sharing the wisdom only learned from doing!
I have the DIY version of the Autel, it is only for one manufacturer, but you can add more for 10 bucks or so...
Beautiful job on the door

Have 2c7f and 2c6c oxygen sensor codes
Are they gonna cause any problems to the car? E90

If they both have the heater code then they can both be bad, usually the ccv or ccv lines are leaking with that code
lolipop2004 O'Reilly bunch of cashiers don't take their advise they don't know shit get a tech to check it out

How much will u charge if I bring my car over to u

My code on my e90 is 2c9d. Before catylic convertor 2 I'm not sure where

shottythirtysix Have you checked your spark plugs/ignition coils?
Thanks Bud
How far back does the bank 1 sensor 1 cord go?

You will need the adapter to eat chassis codes, abs, are on pre 2001 cars, the adapter is only $5 or so, its on my amazon store also
Thankful for that!
Such a nice yard :D i want that too
Its alot to mow !!!
HELP. MY CODE IS DRIVING ME CRAZY TRYING TO FOND WHICH ONE.
2C32 Oxygen sensor before catalytic converter, bank 2: Trim control
Nathan, you got your banks and sensors mixed up. You should post some kind of correction or take this video down.
can you use bosch universal oxygen sensor?
Also on the driver's side wat banks are over there
where are the PCS on an e87 120i..
Hey I watch all your videos, I am banging my head on my 1999 740i I resealed my Vanos new chain and guides, now I get a 1519 and 1522..... went back and reset timing again still same codes. Any ideas...
chris Parkinson if you are using the China timing tool kit from eBay it won't work, you have to use the German auto solutions kit to set it right
Nathan's DIY Garage yup that’s what I used... I will get the right one and redo it thanks... keep the videos coming.
Really nice door.
Thanks it was a huge amount of work but im happy with the finished product
Yeah it looks fantastic and should be durable as well.
I want info on your doors!! i want to build a set just like that for my barn
yeah, not much info about the sensors but the door is nice
Can you show me this on your x5 you have in this video
ye i dont think ill ever get e90, e46 would be the furthest i would go and thats real unreliable
Wow, the Door came out real great!
Im am very happy with it, installed the hinges today, it seems to function pretty good
What is the "heater code," that he mentions at 2:25?
Taylor Hill What he means is the fault code that’s related to the heater circuit of the heated oxygen sensor.
Where would bank 2 sensor 1 be??
any ideas well help plz

Brad Perry if car is not displaying the correct rpm and mph the computer could think that your at redline when you are not so Def problem with sensor
ambers car is doing the same thing, acts like it hits limiter around 4500 rpm, did everything and it still does it
k well from what I found on line and a few people it is the abs module or the vehicle speed sensor on the tail shaft of the transmission... or it is the DCM is this true from your knowledge u seem to know more than the people I talk to
and thanks for all the content u have saved me a lot of money
Do you talk too much get to the point
