- I am over waiting for the Nissan locker to engauge and then disengauge. I am always in doubt whether its actually on or not? I wish there was a button to turn it instantly on and off. Turns out there is! Check this out.
Great video as always Dave , just find the description misleading as there is nothing wrong with the locker but rather the way the system controls it. 👌👌
Spoke with Nissan Australia yesterday. They said nothing wrong with diff lock. Have to disengage traction control first. Any modification to diff lock will void warranty with anything associated with the override system. Quote unquote. Cheers.
There is one thing wrong with Nissan locker setup, it doesn’t work properly 🤷♂️
So if you have to disengage traction control whats helping the front wheels? then you really need to get a front locker too?
Think you need to manually turn traction control off in high range before enabling the locker.
Last time I was this early, I had a job.
Will this affect warranty. Can this damage factory locker if u go outside Nissan's spec. Cheers mate
Would love to see how 37s and a set of diff gears will change the off-road performance.
Nissan probably is helping you saving money from buying a new axle shaft.
Or a diff centre.
My wife has a 2019 Armada (we are in the US). No locker offered on ours :(. She is wanting to start wheeling more and we are having no luck finding aftermarket kit (bumpers/rock rails) do you happen to know if we can get products shipped here and if they would bolt on to our Armada?
I just bought a y61 with a rear difflock and same can't use it in high range. Disappointed with it. Prefer the older patrol with the LSD.
The Y62 is a factory LSD on the rear as well a manual locker so best of both.
There’s another way to do it and make it work in 2wd (y61, navara, Xterra) and 4H with the same oem button. I don’t know how but there’s a mechanic who does it. Not in Aus though.
Does your Patrol have HBMC? And a lift? How does a lift work with the HBMC system?
Please, tell me what lift kits you bought for that so I can buy it for my own Infiniti QX with HBMC.
It is just as slow and annoying on the GU, you have to go left and right and hope there is enough vacuum and the dogs align to engage. I have to have a look at this. Regards, Mick #havacrack #patroltraction
So it´s not the rear locker itself, it´s the way Nissan is going by the electronics.
Correct, they have a seperate ecu just for the locker, this bypasses it

Does the Ko-Gear kit turn off the ABS as well? (as it looked like your ABS light came on when you used the Ko-Gear Locker switch). Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)

Diff-Lock and ABS are mutualy exclusive for rather obvious reasons :-)
Whats the go with Morgan quarry? Is it open for anyone to be able to go have a play without getting in trouble?
