Next time if rhey have anything like rhis in world championships, just dont ask and just trade what you got. 9 times out of 10 the will say no if they become aware that someone got a shiny on a demo side of a game.

As a big Kilowattrel fan, I am thriving. But also my condolences to your sanity and patience-
In the same vein as the Wattrel between #675 and #676, it is possible in Galar to get Pokemon on routes with the met location in the cities if you are able to use a Bingus Zone. For example I’ve hunted a shiny Dhelmise on Route 9 with the met location set as “Circhester” even though there isn’t any encounterable locations within the city. It was a fun hunt and one I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys the oddities of met location!
Not that it'd be as good as content but it sounds like you could have just traded the Kilowattrel and asked for forgiveness rather than permission.
How many Wattrel feathers did you end up with? You could make at least 3 pillows with them.
The Wattrel from Cortondo is incredible:D The Wild City Pokemon should be a mark. That would probably be the rarest mark of all.

Yup! Kotatsu whose footage I used in the intro was able to trade. Seems to vary based on the event!

You know, the more I look at the thumbnail art, the more I appreciate it. The absent-minded Wattrel being head empty, no thoughts - the scowling Wattrel actually scowling - the peckish Wattrel devouring a sandwich. I love the attention to detail

The first Wattrel had the Teary Mark because he knew the journey it was about to send you on. Congrats though on the reclaim though, he finally found his way home from the demo.
Watching this as I try to hunt for a shiny Petilil with the Thorny mark... I have lost count of the phases over 2 months. This video reminded me that I am not alone in the insanity of wanting a specific personality mark on a specific shiny.

I think my favorite is the non-shiny Cortondo Wattrel. Because it's pretty much the reverse shiny Wattrel of the flock.
My first marked shiny was a fidough with the calm mark. His name is Cinna. Cinna the serene.
Mine was a sneasel with the sleepy mark, I called her Kitty. Got her before I had the shiny charm as I was dex completing

I'm curious, any estimate on how long this took you? Did you record the entire thing and cut it up? I bet the latter added a fair few hours to your runtime.
I remember the eevee event with the mark odds and caught every single eevee i could get. Unfortunately my dumb ass didn't understand SV shiny hunting propeely so none of them were shiny but hey--they had the marks!
It’s crazy how I watched the premiere an hour and a half after it started and I still caught part of it live lol
At 200, given all the conditions in the video, about 1 in every 4 shiny Wattrel have a mark, this is not including extra size marks as those are a separate roll. 1/4 is also gonna be a bit more due to the extra roll for the pumped up marks, so if you were to do this yourself, you would likely be getting less marked shinies overall
The amount of dedication it took to do this is impressive. It definitely lived up to its name.
I love seeing the My Pokemon Ranch gameplay in the corner. I never got to play it, but I adore seeing lil videos of all the little pokemon interacting with the miis.
There's nothing more satisfying then getting the Shiny + Mark combo you want. It took me well over 100 Shiny Alolan Raichu to find a Jumbo sized one. It's probably my rarest shiny along with my Misty Mark Hisuian Goodra though that one came in like 2 days compared to 2 weeks.
omg I didnt realize my luck until now. I recently found a random shiny poochyena with a teary mark while looking for another shiny haha
Wattrel is my absolute favourite Pokémon ever, so I am THRIVING, but also... omg my condolences. Your poor mental state - I've hunted Wattrel constantly for fun and have many sparkly seagulls, but without searching for a specific mark. I can't imagine hunting for a mark on top of that, especially when this hunt started SPECIFICALLY because you HAD IT, you just couldn't keep it.
I gotta commend you for staying seemingly sane during this hunt because WHAT.

this must have taken so much determination, especially with the pain of finding other often equally rare things when looking for a specific very rare thing-
(combined with 1:17:22 - "you'd expect to find roughly three 1 in 200s before a 1 in 515 but like...I don't want to find three 1 in 200s" - even knowing the statistics doesn't make it any less soul crushing)
This is exactly what I think Shiny hunting in SV should be treated like. People say SV hunting is too easy but I see it as an opportunity to catch hundreds of one's favorite Shinies if they really wanted to. I've also abused event outbreaks to the extreme and have most of them backed up if I ever feel like switching targets. Amazing video!!

My longest bird shiny mark hunt resulted in about 20 shiny Flechinder but 500 is on a nother level. I’m quite curious why Wattrell was the target of choice. Anyway, I hope you didn’t loose your sanity and I’m looking forward to see this story unfold.

Funnily enough, despite visiting the Trainer Town twice that weekend, I never actually stumbled into the Play Lab, so this early footage is a neat little treat to see!

I had Mini Mark Minun and Jumbo Mark Plusle on my shiny bingo card for this year, and I'm also collecting every ribbon I can get on those bingo card Pokemon. Minun was caught at Level 70 in Chargestone Cavern, so to get the Footprint Ribbon they needed to get to Level 100
At that point, you may as well carry on for a full collection of marked Wattrel. Given you caught 698 shinies, here’s hoping I stumble across one on Wonder Trades if you decide to trade them away. 🤞

I recently caught 365 shiny riolu because the outbreak event.
Why? I hate myself.
"It would be kinda funny" I said
"It's not gonna be that bad" I said
All the final gambits and inconvenient outbreak placements. (I specifically made a rule that I couldn't double up on outbreak spots until I used them all, so I would have riolu from every area in kitakami)
I also didn't use sparkling power 3 sandwiches because every time I tried I'd find 3 or less, which was too few, so I'd just reset.
I tried to get the shiny charm in the middle of it, but I gave up. Did end up getting the mark charm though.
I'm just glad I'm not alone in my insanity.
It was originally just 30, but then I thought "how bout 150" then 180 and then 300, and then I set a rule that if a shiny riolu spawned after the 300th, or I ever found 4 (or more) at once, I'd go to 365. I catch number 300 and I shit you not, 301 was just standing behind me. I wasn't happy.

Peeved, Vigor, Slump, Zero-Energy, Crafty, Ferocious and Charismatic Marks (just didn't find them before the Teary Mark)
Destiny Mark (it wasn't my birthday)
Sandstorm, Snowy, Blizzard Mark (That kind of weather doesn't spawn around Cortondo)
Stormy Mark (1% weather that lasts a couple minutes at a time, only found a handful of shinies during thunderstorms and none had it)
Pretty cool. I'd give Smeargle Yawn into False Swipe to save you a click or two to speed up a hunt like this.
