My A6700 arrived lunchtime today - with a flat battery, naturally! Fortunately I have a high current / variable voltage charger for my tablet, so charged in an hour or so. (2 batteries & a charger ordered today) As a companion to my ZV-E10 the difference in 'feel' is evident. I think the weekend is going to be fun!
I've watched a couple of your videos, like your style, so another subscriber to get you on the way to your 10K target.
mine says battery exhausted and even after charging it for a few hours it doesnt start
I appreciate this unboxing! You are one of the first.
This is a humble thought about shooting in both RAW and JPEG: I can't stress enough, in this day and age of having to deal with storage, saving BOTH a RAW and JPEG creates a double load on your storage requirements PLUS you have to delete those versions! Unless you are shooting specifically to make large prints AND you are in some place exceptionally amazing, I don't bother with RAW---Setting pic quality to FINE and JPEG is ALL I NEED :)! There is PLENTY of editable digital data that you can do with JPEG level images to refine your shots post editing :)! All but 2-5% of photos that we take are going to be deleted anyway (ask any good photographer how many shots they end up keeping :). I KNOW when I'm in a special location, the light is right, and it is going to be an exceptional shot, so I can reset to take it in RAW.

When you have RAW+JPEG selected - can you actually set it so that you have lossless RAW *and* Extra Fine JPEG?
On my a6300, if I select RAW+JPEG, my JPEG quality can go only up to Fine (no extra fine)

How do I remove those metal tabs for the straps? I see those black plastic clips and I’m not sure how to take off without damaging them? Thanks!

@@alexeipg I do apologise, it is hidden in the menu system, It does have Heif 4:2:2 & 4:2:0 !!! wooohoo. I will be sure to include this in my next video.
Is it possible to mount a speedlite on it? What would you recommend?
Yes for sure! I use a Godox Xpro II controller with Godox V1 camera flash.
For video work I use INKEE GOLD CROW light.
Thanks for this helpful video! I wonder what difference does it actually make if the Raw file is set to the higher quality option you mentioned. Because I noticed, that the files are quite significantly bigger (34mb instead of 27mb per file)
One is slightly compressed.
How much data is compressed is debatable, some say their is no difference, some say there is. I personally would just leave it set to the max so that way you know for sure you getting the highest quality.

I would test the differences but if Im seeing that correctly Lightromm still has no support for the raw files :(
@@p4ul.f708 LOL your SSD drives are like mine I bet... Full! Yeah lightroom needs to catch up fast. I am sure in the next few days they will have an update. Also, Let me know if you do find any difference between the 2 should you test them.

Yeah lets hope that Lightroom will catch up maybe within this week. If Ill compare the twp formats Im also going to compare it to my old a6400, Ill replrt back my findings here then 👍

Welcome, I have lots of videos on the Sony a6700
at last...nicely explained for my 76 yo brain. ultra 64 s disk card....i dont do video..for photos will this card be ok .. and if i use lossless is it a bigger file .. am only keen armature wild life birds in flight landscape ..after scaring my bank acc buying the a6700 need a card in the lower price bracket..
