Excellent follow-up on the Kubota. I would have to see a formal quote for both machines. It's hard to believe there would be a 10k difference when equipped the same way. There was no mention of ballast in the Kubota tires whether standard or optional. The 2 speed shift on the fly is definitely a nice feature. I have an old Ford LGT18H (1988) that has the rocker peddle for forward and reverse, so the Kubota design is proven and not unusual. I do however love the 2 peddle design of my 1026R. Great, great video series Tim and Christy!!!
Actually 10K is a bit low, the L4060 to Deere comparison was $12K last year (21) when I was shopping, and it wasn't a perfect apples to apples, nor were filled tires part of it. The Kubota had a few positives over the Deere, one being the Kubota was heavier, which is a must, and the loader, while not lifting as much weight, had a higher lift to it. It is also a bit longer in wheel base. For field work the weight and length is important, at least for me for stability.
My price on a 1025 R and a BX2680 with all the same stuff was $5200 difference. The only thing that the 1025R has that I really like is the side by side foot pedals. I hope when I am ready to buy there will be some deals.
The Fuel tank location on the Kubota is a huge advantage over the Deere!!!!!!! And the SSQA is standard on the Kubota so that opens the door for a huge selection of used attachments for the loader.
I looked at both these tractors and I bought a Kubota for 2 main reasons. 1 the $10k price difference. 2 John Deere needs to update the 4 series cab, it’s silly that they slap the 3 series cab on the 4 series frame and charge you more. It feels small inside and looks goofy too.
Had I known you were coming to my neck of the woods I would have provided cheeseburger recommendations. Kevin grew what was already one of the longest running Kubota dealerships in the US into an impressive operation. Glad you got to visit!
Tim if he goes with kubota he wants the L2272 third function kit. My dealer didn’t know it existed till I ordered it. It adds factory third function as well as in cab push button hydraulic skid steer quick connect. He can change from bucket to forks without leaving cab to unlatch anything. I purchased a L6060 in November of 2021. I’m very familiar with the grand L as I previously had a L3540. When I purchased I shopped all of them again to make sure of what I wanted. I will say the hitch assist seems like a great feature on the John Deere but if you have a quick hitch not sure how often you would use it . Fuel fill location on the kubota is superior. Cab size is noticeably better on the kubota as well as it is a 4 post cab instead of a 2 post John Deere has which adds the rear corner windows that pop out. Only complaint or change I would make on the kubota L6060 is I wish it had a economy pto lever. For the size implements your gonna run you generally don’t need all 53pto hp . Mine is thirsty as majority of my tasks are done at pto speeds and it burns a little over a gallon of fuel a hour. You will run out of weight/ traction before you run out of hp with these machines.
One of your best comparison videos. These two tractors are extremely close. My brother has a 4066R and I have a L4760. I wish my Kubota had the rear controls for hooking up 3-point. My brother wishes he had the HST Plus feature. Of the two, we find the extra speed adjustments is a much bigger deal than the rear controls. I use that feature almost everytime I use the tractor. Using bucket, grapple, and almost evrything else. It's a BIG plus.
We are on year two on our 4066R w/ Deluxe Cab. This tractor does everything we ask. We have a large 60 inch hydraulic grapple that we work very hard. I have always been a John Deere guy and I am so glad we got the 4066R.
Same here. I got the LE HST-C with 3 rear remotes, 3rd function and quick attach remote, mirrors, cruise control switch, light switches, and PTO switch, which I installed myself, and not only was it less than the Deere by a substantial amount, the Limited Edition was $4K less than the Deluxe with the mirrors and front lights. I installed four LED work lights I got from Amazon with brackets I made myself for up front, and a $20 radio. Added a subwoofer so it sounds good too. All said and done, was ~ $44K. The Deere was nearly $56K.
This two video series was fascinating to me. I thought it was awesome to see Pete on your channel learning from you about determining what you need your machine to do. Then, when I saw this video with Zach, I was really happy for them to get that visibility on your channel. As far as which machine to get, I own a Kubota, but both of these machines are excellent. Having said that, I was shocked by the price difference, for a machine that is arguably identical in most ways. Great job Tim, Pete, and both dealerships for the hard work.
Great comparison. I've put a couple thousand hours on a Grand L6060 and love it. Zero issues. I'm 6-3 and I have plenty of room in the cab but carrying a lunch box is tight.
I have run a fair number of large lawnmowers with cabs of different brands. Most with hydrostatic transmission, some with side-by-side pedals, and some with the rocker-type pedal. Often switching several times a day between the two. It really is a matter of getting used to either one. I found no significant advantage or disadvantage between the two.
This has been great. Pete really comes from and understands the business working side of land management and I definitely get how the 10k price difference can land the sale. Tractor decisions are tough ones for sure… Can’t wait to see which machine Pete selects and future video of him putting them to use. Tim and Pete put out some of the most useful video on UA-cam… Thanks
I have owned five pieces of Kubota machinery through the years. Absolute best for a myriad of reasons why. Just bought an excavator and an M4-071D tractor from Kubota of Lynchburg this past year. No regrets. For me, price wasn’t the deal maker; it was quality, uptime, and exceptional dealer support and customer service. I’ve had a couple of Deeres through the years and they are mediocre at best in quality and performance for the cost. For us, there’s nothing here that isn’t orange. Great channel! Great content!
When I priced out equivalent features and size, I compared the deere to kioti and the price difference was $20,000.00. Needless to say I went with the kioti. I haven't had any issue with my kioti tractor and my dealer is only 25 minutes from my house so when I have questions or need maintenance materials they are always ready to get what I need.
I have no regrets about the L4701, but if I were buying again, I'd strongly consider a Kioti. It's basically a Kubota at heart. I had a whole list of tractors I was going to comparison shop at various dealers, and by the time I finished looking at specs, pricing, dealer locations, and everything else, I basically walked into the Kubota dealership and said "Sell me a tractor". The dealer actually talked me out of front and rear hydraulics, and I didn't understand enough about tractors to know why I would or wouldn't want those. I wasn't overly price sensitive, and I >really< wish I had gotten those.
@@JCWren No regrets here. Born and raised JD and still have Deere but couldn’t justify extra cost. Great Kioti dealer I have and been very happy. JD dealer not to bad but didn’t seam to want to work with me. As far as front and rear hydraulics, they are a must, can’t understand why a dealer would talk you out of it .
I think Kubota is onto something with that black loader/wheel setup on that "special edition". Just makes a man smile looking at it. And the result of such emotion is usually expensive.
I like the treadle (mostly because that's what I'm used to) but I could see myself liking the side by each pedal. I rarely use the actual reverse pedal on my kubota I always put my toe underneath the pedal
I have to admit. I really like watching your videos so much that I wish there was a new video everyday other than Sundays and Wednesdays. Lol. Excellent job
@@TractorTimewithTim My favorite time to watch new TTWT videos is always the Saturday morning episodes. When I don't have to go to the office, I can loaf around a bit while enjoying favorite Tractor and Truck UA-cam shows over an hour or two on a nice relaxing Saturday morning.
I can post on one of the forums to you, but this works. The biggest thing to compare is the dealers also. I had wanted to move up to a 60hp tractor this year. I usually go kubota but deere has a bit more lifting capacity in the front. So I started talking with my deere dealer in may of this year telling them I wanted a 4066r open cab. They were very non responsive and took them about a month of me calling to get a quote on paper. So here we are in June and I have a quote but there are some things wrong in the quote. I kept calling and emailing my salesman and took weeks to get responses and finally all ironed end of july. August rolls around and ask and ask is the order in - no not yet. No calls back nothing. So I got pretty disgusted with the dealers lack of caring about me. Talking with Tim from big tool rack after buying one of his racks he said why aren't I looking at the grand L 6060. I already like my kubota dealer and have been dealing with them 20+ years. Went in and they let me have a test ride on one that was in the shop. Something deere couldn't let me do. And then priced it all out that day on paper with a quote. Was $17,000 cheaper overall with my features and attachments I wanted. Almost apples to apples. No brainer. Canceled my deere order and now waiting for a 6060. Looks like 1st quarter 2023, fingers crossed. If deere in my area can't treat me right while buying my tractor imagine how service would go.
Excellent video Tim. When I was shopping I compared the JD 4066M to the Kubota MX6000. Used a lot of Pete's logic. Couple things that swayed me was I was not at all thrilled with the Kubota pedal arrangement. Second was my local Kubota dealership is not very good and I have two excellent JD dealerships. Green did cost a bit more but well worth it as far as I am concerned.
I like the comparisons and assistance for Pete to get closer to his goal tractor his knowledge of his wants is great over some salesman telling him what to buy.
I own a L3560 limited. I also found kubota to be substantially cheaper than Deere. I preferred the Deere but kubota won. The pedal ended up being a non issue. The HST PLUS trans was a big win on the kubota. The hydraulic splitter gear was a really nice feature that has ended up being a big deal
@@DonnieDarko727 You mean the Green Plastic, right? LOL The Deer has a plastic hood. Have something drop on that and crack it, very expensive to replace, prefer the old style steel, it dents? eh, gives it character.
I looked at these exact two models when I was making my decision back in 2020. I ultimately went with the Deere because all my other equipment is Deere and wanted to maintain a great relationship with my service department. The machines are extremely similar and there was only about a three grand difference in price with the Deere being more expensive. Don’t think you can go wrong with either machine. I would take it down who’s going to provide you the best service after the sale.
I have a John Deere 4052R that has about 480 hrs and a little over 2yrs old. I can tell you everything good and bad about it. I actually met you at the farm show in 2019. Love the videos and keep them coming.
I think talking about the maintenance schedule needed for both of these machines is an important thing to note after the sale. I may be wrong but I believe the Kubota requires more frequent maintenance intervals than the Deere which will end up offsetting the price between the two. Another thing to note is the size of the loader, Kutota's loader is larger which obstructs your view a little more than the Deere.
That’s a crazy price difference. Really interesting video though. I bought my International Truck just out the road from Kubota of Lynchburg at Powell’s Truck and Equipment.
Love my Kubota B2650 but would prefer a 2-pedal setup vs treadle. I’m used to it and it works fine. Glad Kubota is moving the brakes to the left side on the new L02 series as it never made sense to have the brake over the treadle.
I have owned 4 Kubota’s with cabs and Hydro stats. An option i love is the hydraulic quick attach on the loader bucket. What i would like to see is the lights on the cab built into the the roof, every tree limb catches them and the mirrors. I would also like a self levering loader.
Enjoyed seeing this video! Lots to think about . I live about 14 minutes from kubota plants in northeast Georgia . I have had deere tractors most of my life but the deere dealers near me are not good and one is 15 miles from me the other 2 are about 30 minutes away I drove a hour and half away to a kubota dealer that deere dropped because they was to small and bought a kubota the dealer was half of the reason for it But I like both brands when I me and my wife talk about it and prayed about we went with kubota I don't know if they are a good and bad in it Both brands have things I like just come down to where you feel like fits your family better Hope everyone has a blessed weekend
After watching a couple of years ago and still watch everything today. I ran into the same Issues with John deer V Kubota. And because of your videos and you teaching me the in’s and out I thank you Tim. But with. $10,000 base price difference. He’s going to to be smart like me and buy a Kubota. Awesome video keep up the great work Tim. 😊
One thing I didn’t see mentioned, with him being in the specialty turf business. Is a skid steer ever in his future? Or any specialty loader attachments? That JDQA vs SSQA could become a factor
Great video Tim!!! If the formal quotes are anything close to those in the video, it seems like a no brainer to choose the Kubota as much as it hurts to say that. The only feature that the 4066R had that stood out is the rear fender controls. That is a significant safety feature IMO, but I don't know that it is work $9-10k. That price difference is a tough hill to climb for an individual or a business unless they are dedicated to a specific brand. It would explain why all his buddies in the same line of business are driving Orange... Having said that, it seems that I read or saw in another video that Kubota does NOT adhere to the standards/recommendations for ASABE for agricultural/turf equipment design. That reliance on 'internal' standards is probably what is influencing the lower price point in slightly lighter design in some respects. The heavier overall weight does not mean it necessarily has higher engineering tolerances. I think for that reason, despite how closely spec'd, it is never going to be a simple apple to apples comparison between the JD and Kubota.
I was waiting for this video. This comparison comes up all the time on snow removal pages. We went with a 4066 for a couple of reasons: nicer cab, faster road speed and in my case: better service. We just hit 1000 hours on ours and are still happy. If I was a homeowner I’d probably consider the kubota because of the price point but if you want your employees to be happy while doing snow removal then get the 4066r.
Also it should be a no brainer and I’m going to get a lot of hate but the 4066 is muuuuuch better looking than the kubota. Only thing I hate about our 4066r is the windshield washer fluid fill location and the oil filter spot (when the loader arms are on)
When comparing smaller tractors for my purchase I went with kubota l2501, the ability to tilt and lift was huge, plus the fact kubota doesn’t outsource motors on small tractors sealed the deal glad I bought the gear drive kubota!
Wow, when I saw the Kubota was $10K less, I had the same thought. Crazy, I grew up thinking Kubota was more expensive! Or maybe my dad just wanted to keep me away from his tractor.
Kubota does not offer a MSL loader, but they do offer a "spill guard", or hydraulic self leveling, option. I cannot find documentation on whether or not the self leveling is only functional when raising the boom, or if it works on both up and down boom operations.
Another great video Tim! It's nice to see this process & interaction with a salesman. This could be a huge help to those looking at buying a tractor, in regards to what questions to ask & test driving the machine etc... We're only a 30 minute drive from that dealer in Lynchburg. Would've been a treat to run into ya while yall were here visiting the Commonwealth! 😊 Yall Stay Safe!
I didn't have any tractor experience prior to getting the Kubota L4701HST. I can't say if the two pedal setup would be better, but I absolutely like the treadle pedal. I also very much like the treadle on the right of the transmission hump and the brakes on the left side. It's all very intuitive and comfortable. Regardless if I'm wearing tennis shoes or heavy boots, my foot doesn't get crossed up or anything in the treadle. My only real negative about the L4701 is the seat safety switch when using the forks. You just cannot see the pallet from a seated position, and if you stand up to look at it and want to creep forward, it won't let you. I'll likely put a bypass switch on it for that specific situation. I have no issue with having the seat safety switch other than with the forks, and it would be nice for it to shut off if I ever were to be thrown off :)
I owned a 3901 with the big c type treadle peddle and I hated it very clumsy with the independent brake pedal next to it. You could not use your brake to turn tight along with operating the hydro pedal. Now I just got a 4060 and the new pedal is an improvement. Love the new tractor.
Interesting to see the comparison of features and benefits of the tractors, along with the pricing comparison. What a cool and easy way to “shop around.” Kudos to those dealers for being upfront and sharing with you and Pete on video. Who knows, maybe I need to trade up😉 Blessings
Great video Tim. Every new tractor and mower I’ve ever bought has been Green but that Orange tractor in your video has a bigger cab and a more advanced transmission plus as I mentioned in your 3520 video the AC will recirculate the cabin air….
With having 3 Deeres and a Kubota over the years my preference by far is the Kubota. Keep in mind that Deere always used to use priority attachments whereas the Kubota has the standard skidsteer setup on its loaders and makes attachments less expensive. My $.02
My 2 cents on best value is moving to an M series with Kubota even if your sticking with the smaller engine your foot print is bigger giving you better capacities. But I digress as an AG guy, great video Tim!!
Great Video Tim. I have to admit the Kubota has some features I like better than my Deere 4066R. Not that I would ever buy anything but a Deere. JD Green is just in my blood since I was kid growing up on the family farm, where we were very much Deere people when it came to tractors. IE. I think I noticed that Kubota's righthand door held itself open and I think I saw steps on both sides. However, I do really hate the Treadle peddle on Kubota. Did the Kubota offer more or less independent hydraulic options. My 4066R limits me to 2 rears independent SCVS and 3 mid/front. That something I really like about my 5Ms, is that mine both have 3 rear and 3 front SCVS all independent of each other. I am really hoping Deere Addresses that 3R/4R small cabs and limited SCVS in the next generation or they simply add E-hydro to some of the 5 Series models.
I love both Deere and Kubota. I’ve owned and operated both. My B2650 has been the best one yet, regardless of the treadle pedal and the transmission wine/jerk. If Kubota offered a twin touch pedal it would be a game changer. At the very least, that’s something the aftermarket world should address.
I got my 4044M with all attachments using 84 mo interest free with John Deere but they don't offer that anymore or have not offered it for some time now. When it comes back we will prob look at upgrading
We sell 40 to 50 4066R each fall over here and they are all snowcab, snow contractors use them a lot and we save a lot of time in the setup because rear hydraulics, block heater, front and back lights and wipers are already there. a snow contractor will typically put a frame mounted plow on the front and a snowblower in the back or vice versa. I could send you some pictures of this setup if you want
I am starting to go the way of the under dog some are built as good or better I have looked at lot of tractors . But the number one thing how close is the service dealer that is the 2nd most important than price
Kudos. One of the best vid Tim you have put out. I enjoyed the comparisons/salesperson/Customer. I’m always wondering on the rear or front mounts for the snowblower, being from the snow belt. Isn’t it just a sore neck looking behind all day blowing snow
When your in the realm of the 1025R there’s very little difference in price but, wow, there’s a big price difference as you go up the HP ladder! As I travel around my area I’m seeing more and more brands popping up (most of which are probably made by the same company just branded with different names) and I wonder what current parts supplies are, not to mention what’s going to happen three or four years down the road when these brands go out of business?
Exactly! It has been several years since a slow down in the small tractor world. Wonder which brands will be shaken out when that next slowdown occurs?
I prefer the 2-pedal but I bought a tractor with a treadle pedal because a great treadle pedal is better than the lackluster 2-pedals on the other tractors I drove.
I have a Kubota L4060. About the pedal, I find that when I go in reverse that I usually have my body turned around to the right and that I use the toe end of my foot to push down on the rear of the pedal.
When I was looking to buy my tractor back in 2018, I really wanted to go green. I researched and test drove every brand I could find within a reasonable driving distance. I found that there really is no exact “head to head” comparison between Kubota and Deere. Their models seem to leap frog each other with each one falling between two sized of the other brand. I though the Deere 2 series would be the one for me, but it just didn’t have the capacity and capability I needed (especially with the backhoe), and over time I decided I wanted a factory cab. The Kubota Grand L series seems to fit between the 3 and 4 series Deeres, but with a much larger and nicer cab, equal or better loader options, and a more capable backhoe. I ended up with the Grand L4060, and it was both better appointed and substantially cheaper than the Deere 3 series, and WAY less money than the Deere 4 series. I’ve had the L4060 for over 4 years (and 5 summers) and have absolutely zero issues. It is a very capable, comfortable, and reliable piece of equipment, and I’m totally happy with my decision (even though it wasn’t green!)
Both good machines. Really all brands are good or comparable these days. I own 4 different brands and all have close to 1000 hours now. All have been great machines
Really enjoyed the video comparison. I have had my Kubota L4760 for a couple years and would add a couple of things to you comparison. You already covered cost, Finance rates through Kubota was Zero down 48 months at Zero % interest. Deere at the time did not offer a comparable rate. The creep feature for the 3 point on the Deere is really nice and may be essential on a cab tractor. On my open station tractor the deluxe 3 point lift arms make hook up to implements very easy. Not sure if Deere offers comparable lift arms. I was surprised by the 1055 loader capacity shown on your graphic. I have the same loader and it is very strong. I was told that 1055 refers to kilograms the loader can lift. On the Kubota the throttle button on the joystick raises RPM for improved hydraulic system flow but tractor ground speed is not affected. Not sure if that was clear in your video.
I really enjoyed these two videos. I thought the Deere would be more expensive. $10,000 is definitely something to consider when buying. Thanks for sharing.
Very good comparison. I'm sure that people with other equipment are screaming the superiority of their tractors but unless you're going to spend weeks traveling and producing an eight hour video... Thanks Tim!
treddle peddles suck thats all i can say i started driving with one on a 4310 22 years ago and never knew any different till a few years ago now I love the twin peddles
seeing these 2 units i think i would go with the kubota with the price difference after being blessed finding the kubota i have and really only liking features the deere had over other tractors i looked at kubota i had the joy of working with both a zero turn and side by side i think the same engines or near same engines are also used in the tractor line i really liked how strong they ran that said i am happy with the kubota i ended up with i am itching to get it to work and see just how well i am going to like it things have really slowed down here with mowing and stuff not much to do bummer
I own the 4066R. I have rebuilt the steering cylinders on my dads JD 2555 and a Kubota M9000 both very similar. The Kubota seals and o-rings were almost 4 times as much. Kubota parts are always hard to get and forget about trying to get on a forum or watch a UA-cam video to repair a Kubota. The JD handled his Vermeer round baler and a 15’ Woods batwing so much better than the Kubota. Balance with 2,000 lbs in the bucket or hay spear as well as the pallet forks wasn’t even close. The JD would keep back wheels on the ground where the Kubota had 3 extra weights on each rear tire and still be unstable. Both had ballast in rear tires. I could go on and on about engine problems as well as brakes and clutched twice that had to be replaced with less than 1800 hrs on the Kubota. JD had over 6,000 hrs. Clutched once, never touched brakes or engine. I choose to pay more now than pay later.
I have loved these two videos! I myself am a Deere fan and I’m hoping that’s what he ends up deciding lol.. however I’m sure the kubota is great too. I made the mistake of going the cheap route when I was shopping for my last tractor and went with a kubota lx2610 instead of a Deere 2 r series and I honestly have regretted it ever since. The kubota is nice but having owned Deere all my life there’s big differences between the two
Great video Tim. My company has both tractors in our fleet. We’ve had excellent performance from each machine. The John Deere is a more comfortable cab and seat and with better rear vision to grading attachments. The Kubota is very solid build and the HST transmission is very handy. The Deere is more stable on slopes, and the Kubota has a larger open feeling in the cab. If buying another machine we would go with John Deere.
For me, dealership service would come into play in a major way. I am in an area where green service is very good, and orange is very, very bad. The two dealerships are almost next door to each other and about 10 miles from me. Many Kubota owners I know haul their orange tractors 100 miles for service elsewhere to avoid the local shop. Pete appears to have two quality dealerships close by him. He should appreciate that. When you have jobs lined up and waiting, having your tractor sitting at a shop for several weeks can cost more in lost business than that $10K difference in price.
I went with the newholland workmaster 75 cab tractor loader .When i was looking at the kubota 6060/7060. and the comparable jd .The newholland had more features. over the 6060 kubota locking front diff was a big one ,and it was alot cheaper .I use the newholland in a commercial operation it has been flawless we have had it for over a year .
I like the pedal on my Kubota L5740 grand L but I don't like the pedal on the smaller tractors with the long treadle pedal I would get a John Deere 1025R over a BX Kubota tractor because of the pedals but I'm smoother with the loader on my Kubota vs John Deere but it's what ever you have and you are used to running regular
From personal experience I have had 2 4066 r cab tractors andthe most recent one in two years I put over 1500 hrs on it and never had a problem except a hydraulic line coming loose, it’s a powerful tractor I was able to mow a little over 30 acres in one day with an 8 foot flail mower it took me about 15 hours but still got it done and that’s with massive hillsides the four-wheel-drive system works great everything about the tractor is good and visibility is excellent compared to Kabota has a much bigger cab so if you look to your right or left over your shoulder in the John Deere you look directly at the ground, The Kubota visibility is not as good also I have quick attatch detach loaders on my tractors and with the loader off for mowing visibilty is incredible as the Kabota has a taller hood but they both are excellent tractors and he will be happy with either one, I think the hydraulic loader is going to be a little quicker on Kubota but the John Deere loader is very strong I have run my tractors extremely hard. But Kubota will be less money I feel the John Deere quality is a little better as per switches interior etc. I broke two PTO switches on my Kabota‘s I don’t like Kubota‘s PTO switch I think John Deere is more durable, but again that’s just me either way he can’t go wrong with either tractor.
We will work on this. …planning another episode to dig in.
Love the tredle pedal so easy to find forward and reverse never need to think about it
I can run treadle pedal all day long for $10k😂
The Fuel tank location on the Kubota is a huge advantage over the Deere!!!!!!! And the SSQA is standard on the Kubota so that opens the door for a huge selection of used attachments for the loader.
I looked at both these tractors and I bought a Kubota for 2 main reasons. 1 the $10k price difference. 2 John Deere needs to update the 4 series cab, it’s silly that they slap the 3 series cab on the 4 series frame and charge you more. It feels small inside and looks goofy too.
I heard the new John Deere need a computer to troubleshoot and fixed it ? thank you
Had I known you were coming to my neck of the woods I would have provided cheeseburger recommendations.
Zach is my go to guy down there at my Kubota dealer. I was drooling over that 50th anniversary L6060. The color combo was awesome on that tractor.
I ended up with a 4060 limited for the same reason, it was substantially less expensive than team green for what felt like an equivalent product.
yeah kubota l4060 are nice
Great job Tim, Pete, and both dealerships for the hard work.
ouch 4066R for $69,000 to $70,000 for compact tractor with package lucky kubota is cheaper
One of your best 2-series videos.
Great comparison. I've put a couple thousand hours on a Grand L6060 and love it. Zero issues. I'm 6-3 and I have plenty of room in the cab but carrying a lunch box is tight.
I'm on that same soap box!!! Great job laying out reasonable factors that people just don't think of
I have run a fair number of large lawnmowers with cabs of different brands. Most with hydrostatic transmission, some with side-by-side pedals, and some with the rocker-type pedal. Often switching several times a day between the two. It really is a matter of getting used to either one. I found no significant advantage or disadvantage between the two.
It’s amazing that it 10,000.00 different in the prices. And I agree with Tim all tractors need the controls in the back.
really enjoyed this and the ending was FUNNY! " You suppose to give good advice Tim " lol ha ha made me chuckle
Got the smaller Grand “L” the L4060LE and am loving it. Purchased at Rosy Brothers in Dryden, Michigan. Very helpful.
Did the same
You also get more loader lift capacity with kioti
Thanks for the Gates shout out Tim! That' how I make my living, helping build hoses in Red Bay, Alabama for Gates Corp.!
Cool!
I used to put foot underneath pedal and pull up for reverse, but i started to like using the heel now.
I have to admit. I really like watching your videos so much that I wish there was a new video everyday other than Sundays and Wednesdays. Lol. Excellent job
Thanks John! We have added Friday videos for the last two weeks! Hopefully that is helping to feed your addiction:-)
@@TractorTimewithTim My favorite time to watch new TTWT videos is always the Saturday morning episodes.
When I don't have to go to the office, I can loaf around a bit while enjoying favorite Tractor and Truck UA-cam shows over an hour or two on a nice relaxing Saturday morning.
fantastic follow up on a subject everyone cares about
One other nice feature you can get on most Grand L is the hydraulic power SSQA. We had it installed and really like the convenience of it.
Yea but the green paint is worth 20k
@@DonnieDarko727 You mean the Green Plastic, right? LOL The Deer has a plastic hood. Have something drop on that and crack it, very expensive to replace, prefer the old style steel, it dents? eh, gives it character.
@@acdii agreed. I bought neither. Went with Kioti
@@DonnieDarko727 Didn't have that option, no Coyote dealers around here.
ha ha ha ha, speech to text ^^^^^^^
I looked at these exact two models when I was making my decision back in 2020. I ultimately went with the Deere because all my other equipment is Deere and wanted to maintain a great relationship with my service department. The machines are extremely similar and there was only about a three grand difference in price with the Deere being more expensive. Don’t think you can go wrong with either machine. I would take it down who’s going to provide you the best service after the sale.
💥 How dare you speak negatively about the treadle pedal. 😂😂
*Keep on tractoring!*
I have had deere tractors most of my life but the deere dealers near me are not good and one is 15 miles from me the other 2 are about 30 minutes away I drove a hour and half away to a kubota dealer that deere dropped because they was to small and bought a kubota the dealer was half of the reason for it
But I like both brands when I me and my wife talk about it and prayed about we went with kubota I don't know if they are a good and bad in it
Both brands have things I like just come down to where you feel like fits your family better
Hope everyone has a blessed weekend
Sounds like you might be talking about AgPro on Browns Bridge Rd.
I thought the price would be closer! 10k difference was surprising! Great video as always! 👍❤️
After watching a couple of years ago and still watch everything today. I ran into the same
Issues with John deer V Kubota.
Skid steers tear up turf. …so not at the top of his list.
Pete from GCI is the man!!!
Kubota does not offer a MSL loader, but they do offer a "spill guard", or hydraulic self leveling, option. I cannot find documentation on whether or not the self leveling is only functional when raising the boom, or if it works on both up and down boom operations.
Great comparison of features and prices between the 4066R and L6060.
Would love to see Tim do some work with the 4 series. Those are amazing tractors!
Awesome video I enjoyed it I have a 2 series Deere but agree with him on that size I would go kabota especially with a 8 k price difference
The 4 series cab is way to small for 70k. It’s just crazy when you look at Kioti and Tym.
I’m a huge John Deere fan but they need to just add for standard features for that price it’s crazy when the Kubota is 10k less
I went with Deere 4066R fully loaded with every option possible. Love it.
Traded in my 23 year old Deere 4500.
Glad you like it!
I have the splitter on my Hydro on a TC 45D New Holland and I love it. Very informative video Tim. Even if your not in the purchasing window.
Wow I’ve never seen this treadle pedal. My dads 2310 has this really long pedal. I like this pedal in the video.
I planned to buy a 4066r but after comparing to the Yanmar YT359 I chose that. Highly recommend.
That was a good video Tim good comparison good way to do it. I loved it.
Kubota was the first tractor I ever ran or purchased. Never knew anything diffrent about the pedal. Now everything else seems odd
Very good information thank you both. God blessing for you life
excellent video Tim. very informative.
Thanks Tim!
Good video and comparison Tim. Pete getting good information
treddle peddles suck thats all i can say i started driving with one on a 4310 22 years ago and never knew any different till a few years ago now I love the twin peddles
seeing these 2 units i think i would go with the kubota with the price difference after being blessed finding the kubota i have and really only liking features the deere had over other tractors i looked at kubota i had the joy of working with both a zero turn and side by side i think the same engines or near same engines are also used in the tractor line i really liked how strong they ran that said i am happy with the kubota i ended up with i am itching to get it to work and see just how well i am going to like it things have really slowed down here with mowing and stuff not much to do bummer
Nice job Tim great video.
Nice looking KUBOTA !!!
Very helpful feedback. Thanks!
Great video, very useful and helpful.
both great looking machines
For me, dealership service would come into play in a major way. I am in an area where green service is very good, and orange is very, very bad. The two dealerships are almost next door to each other and about 10 miles from me. Many Kubota owners I know haul their orange tractors 100 miles for service elsewhere to avoid the local shop. Pete appears to have two quality dealerships close by him. He should appreciate that. When you have jobs lined up and waiting, having your tractor sitting at a shop for several weeks can cost more in lost business than that $10K difference in price.
Tim, that was a thought provoking video. I agree both are excellent brands.
You should come down to Petes with Vinny and work on a ballfields with him in the spring. that would be awesome
Would be interesting to see how a MF2800M would stack up against both of these.
Tim what do you love more? A good cheeseburger or a good turning radius?
10 grand is a big difference. I have operated them both and both are very nice operating tractors
nice video Tim Real buyer looking is a nice approach.
