#Scorpions 🦂have powerful pincers and stingers. Some are aggressive and their stingers can deliver potent neurotoxins, which can be harmful to human health and at worst fatal.💀 However, out of the 2,348 known species of scorpions worldwide, only 5 are regulated in the international trade. From 2015 to 2021, over 10,600 Emperor scorpions were imported into Hong Kong. 🤯
Scorpions and other venomous arthropods are readily available in Hong Kong’s shops. With numerous scorpion species of varying conservation status and envenomation-risk, it can be difficult for prospective owners to make informed choices.
