Everyone in my family thought my cousin would be the bad one in our family. Well he did do time in prison in his youth, once for stealing a guys car, and another time for drugs, but he became an HVAC in early 2000s when he got out. He did installs for many years, now he's just a contractor, brings in a lot of money, has a big house big car, beautiful girlfriend. Life is good for my cousin despite a short bad start.

I personally think prison is good when you're young, it teaches kids to grow up and get a career, yet for others, it also prompts them to do much worse when they get out, because nothing for them out. I think prison is only good for the young, if you're old stay away from prison.

I learned to stop stressing out about what's going wrong at work that's out of your control. It all pays the same, so I just do what I'm told and go at a steady pace always.

Dude, do it. Just know, HVAC is not much different. People complain left and right about the cost of services and depending on where you end up, the pay might not be the best at first. If you can get trained up and become a selling tech with spiffs, you'll make some good money. I've been in HVAC since 2013 doing primarily sales now and bring in around 130K. Get some!

@@bdaddy503not if you can climb ladders and crawl thru attics and crawlspaces. If you have a good work history a smart company would prefer you, many of the younger guys we get only last a few weeks or months. It's well known in the trades that most middle aged guys will out-work guys 10-20 years younger.

When paid by the hour, the boss makes the value determination. It looks like completing the repair was priority regardless of what it did to billable productivity. The check cashes the same.

The time spent changing the blower speed could've been spent at the condenser to diagnose the real problem in 10 minutes . Once that's done set your blower speed to tonnage and static .
You could have left a customer happy instead of making a video on him spending 700 dollars and your day doing nothing by fixing his problem
This video made me happy to be a commercial tech

You mean to tell me, your still getting paid ,even with the uncontrollable circumstances you ran into that interferes with your ability to do your job and make money? I definitely need to switch trades. Been a mechanic (flat rate) for almost 10 years now and with all of the uncontrollable circumstances I run into on a daily basis, I’m the one who gets screwed, makes pretty much next to nothing for an hour of my time and just gets told “better luck on the next one.”
Sorry for my rant, I just think it’s nice that your company is still paying you, even though you ran into issues that are not your fault whatsoever. I think it’s time for a switch up for me.

why not just use a simple rescue motor ? keep a 115 volt and a 208/230 volt on your truck at different amps/hp/rpms configurations. 4 motors is all you need 2 for indoor and 2 for outdoor. plus universal mounting brackets.
