Nice " silent" video of cap in action! What effect would a worn/oversized orifice on the lipstick burner have on use of this? More heat because more fuel? Or would increased fuel from larger opening cause sooting, etc?
@David Schmidthuber Caps reduce the decibel output of the stove by at least half at full throttle, more at medium and simmer flames. A worn lipstick jet orifice will provide too much fuel and yellow, sooty flames with either a cap or with the flame plate - same difference. The issue is the worn orifice - caps won't solve a worn part. The solution is to decrease the size of the orifice by gently peening the oversized orifice metal to reduce the outlet size. It is possible to restore the lipstick in this way and make it back to new operation. BD
@David Schmidthuber You're welcome. But, it's not merely "reasoning". It comes from actual real-world experience I, and others, have accrued from actually repairing stoves over many years. 😎 BD
@@BernieDawgCinema A poor choice of words on my part- should have said explanation. No disrespect in any way intended. Thank you for all the great info and innovations you so willingly share with the less knowledgeable and experienced ( like me ;).
@David Schmidthuber Oh! No problem. I understand. I’m not offended and I hope I didn’t offend or demean you. Not my intent at all. I don’t know you and you could be a huge expert for all I know. I’m just setting the record straight that what I know about this subject comes from actual learning it hands on and repairing a pile of lipstick burners. There are others on the interwebs who know what they are doing in this regard, too. But, I feel it’s important to clarify whether the knowledge coming from real experience - versus “knowledge” coming from thinking about it while sitting in a chair and drinking. There is (unfortunately) all too much of the latter posted across the interwebs on a variety of subjects. And, sadly, it can be hard to discern which is which sometimes. Might explain a lot about how messed up, angry and divided our world has become. Just some thoughts. Ymmv. Enjoy your stove! 👍 BD🐾
Hi Cam Sorry, mate. I don't keep caps in stock here. I'd have to charge more than the direct-from-the-factory prices to cover the extra shipping. You can find them here (USA factory): shpws.me/DWiP or here (Belgium factory): i.materialise.com/en/shop/item/berniedawg-minicap-with-legs-for-small-stoves Thanks again and happy camping!
Good afternoon Mr. Bernie, I have my Primus 96 with a dent, how can I fix it? On the back is the word AP 17, what year of manufacture would it be? Thanks a lot

The drawing on the side of a kerosene bottle of what looks like water is called "Mr. Yuk". In the USA it's a symbol used for the last 49 years to tell kids not to drink what is poisonous. A symbol for a poisonous substance - kerosene. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Yuk Glad I could ed-u-kate U. 👍 BD

Why is the kerosene so angry? 😂
