Some quick lore. The Jesta was designed alongside the Unicorn to protect it during its cool down from the NTD. This means it can keep up with the Unicorn aswell. As a kit it is one of bandai's best and anyone who has built one knows this. Welcome to the Jesta fan club Zach :).

I don't actually own a lot of gunpla. Just the MG Ball, MG Jesta, and MG Jesta Cannon :) I recently just found out that there are a bunch of HG Jesta units being released w/ Gundam NT and I can't wait to pick them up :D
I love the looks and the gimmicks of the normal MG Jesta, but then posing it, disappointment hit. My kits ankles are so weak and floppy it's sags over if you don't balance it just right or keep it on an AC.
That pretty much left a bad taste in my mouth,since the kit was so praised.
The issue was only fixed after painting, but that didn't excuse it for me. So I'm guessing I just got a poor quality kit.
MG Jesta is one of the best looking kits in my cabinet. They look great.

I got it on it's first run but I like hearing your opinions on kits and tend to still watch your reviews even if I have built them already :)
Also, I just have mine duel wielding the guns.
The standard Jesta was my first MG, I don't think I could have picked a better kit to step away from HG's with.

Those hands are so delicate.
I agree with the hands not being the best, but I cant argue with how well the slots in the palms hold the weapons so securely. I was wondering if the instructions talked about switching the arms around? So that the beamsaber holder can be used and just get the magazines covered, since those are the magazines for the basic jesta gun. I have the MG Jesta and it is so far my favorite build. Thanks for the video, now this weekend I need to go out and look for this in akihabara. Also a huge thanks for your book on shopping out there. I am putting it to great use.

I tried the Samurai Buyer site, either there's a trick to it, or the search engine is just terrible.
LOADS of unrelated hits, even finding an item, and later searching FOR THAT ITEM fails. Terribly frustrating.

I love the Jesta Cannon's design but unfortunately this p-bandai is a little out of reach. Do you have any opinion on the HG version? I'm actually leaning toward the normal MG Jesta. The Jesta is easily my favorite Earth Federation grunt suit.
Yea P-Bandai sucks, I'm looking forward to the MG Stark Jegan but that'll probably cost an arm and leg.
They are 3.0 hands not 2.0, and I never had any issues with the 3.0 hands for my kits

Ach, they are delicate alright. But their wide ranged flexibility in arranging the hand gestures outweigh the negatives by far...!
what hands do you recommend to replace this 2.0 hands, cause the hands are def the weak point of this kit, my fingers keep falling out :/
The HG is pretty good too, also includes the shield and standard Jesta rifle :) So a good non p bandai alternative.

Now a review of the regular jesta is in order. I really enjoyed the HG version of the standard Jesta so good thing the jesta cannon is a regular release. Might give the MG a shot if I find it.
but is it as chunky and hard to balance as the mg EW Tallgeese 1? without a stand mine just topples over from looking at it
Only negatives I can think of are no beam saber holster and slightly difficult to switch the shoulder cannons to shield on the backpack.
I drilled a hole on the arm guard and put the shield there instead.
mg jesta cannon share the same polycap runner with mg exia. and exia doesn't use the poly cap for jesta's gun
I REALLY wanna customise that.Maybe do some reverse colours .Like White instead of dark grey.And add some more melee weapons.
Great review! I don't believe i will pick up the Jesta Cannon, instead i will buy the normal release Jesta. One thing i think would improve your reviews would be a size comparison to other scale gunpla. Some of them could be from the same series considering that you have so many models!
What kind of hands would you recommend to replace the hands that come with this kit? I'm not a big fan of them either.

Dude that mobile suit looks badass and it's look cool looking that suit can take out a whole army or a military base from the ground and especially the weapons on it looks nasty looking huh cuz u'm soo getting that bad boy for my birthday no doubt about it.
this kit has a lot, and I mean a LOT in common with the engineering in the Nu Gundam Ver Ka. (which, funny enough, I'm putting the decals on right now).... from the arms, to the hips to the hands....

Jesta and Stark Jegan look great, Unicorn Gundam gave us some nice MS designs.

The regular version is honestly my favorite grunt federation mobile suit. I just wish they would make a MG Geara Zulu too.
Gouging that v thing on the crotch part while de nubing with a hobby knife is my biggest nightmare in removing nubs from v fins and similar parts. Had it happen too often with the old 1/100 HG wing gundams to the point that of all the 1/100 Gundam kits I've built I've only built 1 MG gundam and 5 Mono eye MGs with 2 mono eye RE 100s. Probably need to get over that fear of mine since I have 3 Gundam MGs in the backlog that Im too afraid of de nubing and ruining the V fin. Seeing you nick that v fin made me sad on so many levels.
That’s what sucks though, it wasn’t gouged. It broke off by itself before I touched it with my knife
for the hole in the crotch v, can't you put in a little bit of playdough and cut off the access material? and then paint it over if needed?

Take the Polycap off the big gun, it doesn't even need as the top clips on the main barrel just fine without it, and repainted the off color one.
The Cannon though is so expensive to get your hands on. It's easily $100+ everywhere.
Should have been a regular release in my opinion. That said the regular kit is a solid enough MG a good base for doing customs.
We should all get the Tri-Stars xD

Basically MG Jesta + optional weapons. While the MG Jesta is solid, the new parts are kinda meh. They are not really detailed and for the price premium you'd expect more.

? Not really, the Jegan's still there. It's more like a GM Custom or something between grunts and important stuff.

Yup. Although their pilots aren't really well known (they were all like 10 during the OYW), so the suit is elite, but the pilots are unknown.
I'm just salty AF that the stark Jegan pilot didn't get a Jesta to fight the Kshatriya. He was definitely skilled enough.
It's pretty much a Aftermarket Honda Civic it's better than a stock Honda Civic but it's still a Civic if that makes sense
Well i think that natural bend for the toe bend..you know..like human cant bend the toe down..its like breaking feet..not natural.
Fajar N Fadillah some kits (rg Zaku ii comes to mind) have split-articulation feet and, thus, you can point the "toes" up or down relative to the rest of the foot
That 3.0 hands are GARBAGE. Weak wrist joint and my MG Sinanju Stein, v and Sazabi ver.ka all have weak wrist joint and can't hold the weapon straight. Especially the Stein because it has a huge and heavy rifle.....I'm glad that we don't see that kind of hand very often.....
I glue the square wrist part to the hand. U do not need that articulation and this mod makes the hands much better.
I didn't even bother with that hands....I just stick with fix posed hands
