Thanks a ton for this video. I’m in a weird situation where that latch is seized up on me and wont open so my hatch is currently stuck shut. Being able to see that part from all angles definitely helped to give me a better understanding of what’s going on inside of it. Really hoping I can regain access to the hatch and get it replaced.
Wow! My 1999 Golf doesn't have a light sensor for the hatch...That's great, as few electrical features as possible for me! The surround of latch is crumbling on mine.
We are eager to work on it. But our schedules have to work out (kid's, jobs and family). And, the weather has to cooperate. It's coming through. We have parts!! We really need an enclosed place to work on it. It is not at either of our houses. Thanks for your patience.

Hi! Thanks! It seems to have fixed it. So far it has been working flawlessly. Have you looked at the latch and tried lubrication?
@@MaqsVids yes I was looking at the latch tonight. The locking mechanism doesn’t work (mechanical or electrical lock).
